I really like this eyeliner, as it’s so soft and glides so nicely, doesn’t pull my skin trying to get a good colour pay off like with other liners.
I use it mainly for stronger, smokier makeup looks, so I always smudge it with a dark eyeshadow, making it last long and it doesn’t transfer on me at all.
I can however see how this could smudge if not set with eyeshadow powder, as it’s so smooth and has oils as ingredients in it, so it might just be perfect if you’re after a soft liner to use with eyeshadows, but not really to use by itself, like previous reviewer sad.
For what I use it for it’s perfect. For me the smoothness and no tugging sold this product and I would definitely repurchase this in the future.
Mellow Cosmetics Mineral Auto Eyeliner was the Day 16 surprise gift in a 2017 beauty Advent Calendar.
Made in New Zealand, this eyeliner is paraben free, is not tested on animals, and contains Jojoba Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Candelilla Wax, Carnauba Wax, Castor Seed Oil, Rhus Succedanea Fruit Wax, Mica, Phenoxethol, 2-Phenoxyethanol, and may contain Iron Oxides and Ultramarines.
The slender design of this eyeliner has a wind-up applicator that doesn't require sharpening. The darkly pigmented black eyeliner applies easily, and smoothly, although it does seem to transfer to lower lash line and under my eyes, leaving me with black smudges and semi-panda eyes.
I only tightline my upper lid and don't apply eyeliner to my lower lash line, so I prefer my eyeliner to stay where I put it and not migrate under my eyes during the day, but the minerals in it seem to have made it quite soft and fairly waxy, so it doesn't stay in one place unless I put powder or an eyeshadow over the top to set it, which is not ideal.
Would I purchase another one of these? Honestly, no. I do love the fact that it doesn't need to be sharpened, but I found the formula to be too waxy and transferable. After using this for a few months, I'm tired of having panda eyes by lunchtime each day, and can't wait to finish it.
Tips: Set it with eyeshadow or powder if you can't handle it transferring
