Mellow Gel Eyeliner Review

I picked this up out of a recent beauty vault and thought I'd give it a go. I love the colour, it makes the blue of my eyes look really great. It is nice and creamy and goes on so smoothly. I didn't like the brush that came with it, I felt like it made the line way too thick so I have been using another brush I already had. I haven't had any smudging or running even while wearing it for a full day and it's easy to clean off at the end of the day with a bit of makeup remover. Very happy with this and I would definitely buy it again, probably not for a while though, I have a felling it is going to last the distance

When looking for a gel liner there are 2 things I look for, staying power and the blackest of black pigment. This gel liner ticks both of those boxes.

Over the years I have trialed and tested gel liners, having hooded eyes has made me scared because they rub on the gel liner (even when set with powder) and leave a little (sometimes a lot) transfer mark on the top of my eye lids. The only gel liner that didn't transfer was Mac Black track fluid line but the downfalls with that was: It wasn't very pigmented, it dried up before I finished half the container and the price was too expensive. So after many failed gel liner attempts I relied on eye liner pens up until using the Mellow cosmetics gel liner.

The gel liner comes with a little brush which I didn't like as I like to create the sharpest thinnest wings possible and the brush was too hard to maneuver.

The formula is thick and creamy, I like to dip the tip of my angled brush into the gel and wipe off the excess on the inside of the gel liner lid, after carving out my wing I go back and use the left over product that I've wiped into the gel lid and fill in the wing. The gel liner dries within seconds and doesn't need to be set with powder.

I've been using this gel liner for 8 months and the product in the container has not dried up and is still fresh comparing it to when I first opened this.

I would highly recommend this to all makeup lovers, its extremely affordable, smudge proof and the blackest gel liner.

I received this little liner in a beauty box that I ordered and I currently use it every day……. for both my eyes but mostly for my brows!! After running out of my normal brow pomade I was in a dilemma so had to make use of what I had at home. Well, I have not looked back! The creamy, smooth formula is ridiculously pigmented and glides on like silk. You do have to be very precise and careful when applying it though as it only takes a few seconds to set. When using this on my brows, I have actually found that unlike some actual brow pomades, this gel liner actually lasts all day. To ensure that my brows do not look to dark and intense I apply it with an angled brow brush and quickly use a spooly brush to feather them. As an eyeliner, it is great for precision and creating wings (again being careful to be quick because it sets so fast). For a less dramatic look I like to smudge this on my lids using my finger. I am a big fan of gel eye liners and usually pay a lot of money for the Inglot gel liner however after trying this one, which I believe is just as good, I think I will be saving my money and making this a firm staple in my beauty bag.

This is my first time using anything from the Mellow Cosmetics brand and I’ve heard great things about these affordable cosmetics. I was looking for a new gel eyeliner, so I bought the Mellow Gel Eyeliner. It’s cutely packaged into a small box, which contains a little pot of 4g of thick black gel and a cute brush. The gel eyeliner is free from Parabens and is cruelty free, which is great. Mellow Cosmetics is supposed to be found in some Farmers stores, but I still haven’t been able to locate these in stores, so I bought this online.

Before applying the gel eyeliner, I prepped my face and eyes. I used the cute brush that came with it to apply the gel. The bristles on the brush felt gentle and held the gel very well. The smoothness of the gel made the brush glide onto my eyes easily and it was high pigmented, where one coat was enough to make a dramatic statement. I used it on my top eyelids and let it dry first before I applied a small amount bottom eyelid. I was amazed how nicely it turned out on the bottom eyelids too. The gel eyeliner made my eyes look awake and fresh and I loved the way my eyes looked. The great thing is, it’s long wearing and waterproof, without smudging. Also, keep in mind that a little goes a long way with this product.

Overall, I think it’s a wonderful product. This is the best gel eyeliner I’ve used as it’s remained smooth in it’s pot, compared to other gel eyeliners where the texture has changed. I believe the price is also very reasonable for the great quality that it is. I recommend it to anyone who is wanting to a quality gel eyeliner on a tight budget.

Woooowweeee I have been absolutely blown away by this gel liner and never owned anything like it! I feel like calling it pigmented isn't even the right words, this is SO black it's unreal!

I absolutely love this formula, it is sooo creamy and applies like an absolute dream. I love using it to line my upper lash line for a fuller effect on my lashes and I love this because I've found that this one doesn't smudge, esp if you set it with a bit of black shadow at the end. I highly recommend this!

I've owned this for quite some time now and I absolutely love how it hasn't dried out like some of the other brands I've owned in the past, it's still as smooth and creamy/fresh as the day I first opened it!

The little brush it comes with isn't great (just a bit small for my liking) but this can be replaced with anything else you might already have laying around that you currently use.

I never in a million years thought I'd be brave enough to try something like this before I became a BR girl! It popped up in the recent Beauty Review Beauty Vault and I decided to give it a go.

The Mellow Gel Eyeliner comes in a clear plastic pottle with a black screw top lid. It's a simple little package but the product is the gem. I have this in Black.

The gel eyeliner itself is a dark, inky matte black. There is a lot of it in the pottle, and I can see it lasting a long time.

The brush that comes with this is shocking. It's really short, stubby, and thick. I used it once and repurposed it for concealer at the gym.... Instead, I use a thin eyeliner brush I was given by a friend. Using that I can easily get lovely effects with this eyeliner.

It's a super dark black, with which you can effectively line eyes, do the little tricks like cat flicks and wings, and really enhance eye looks. It has a real depth of colour to it and it dries and sets fast. Once on, it's ther euntil you remove it, and removal is simple enough with micellar water, eye makeup remover or even a baby wipe - though it sometimes wants a bit of loosening first - I use a hot washcloth for this.

I was astonished by how easy this is to use with the right brush. Really exciting to be able to try a new product and find it's for me - thanks BR!

Mellow cosmetics sent me some of their products to try including the gel liner. The packaging is rather simple but cute!! it comes with a mini brush which I'm not a big fan of as it is too short! The product itself is creamy and glides on smoothly on my lid. The only downside is the formula dries up pretty fast so you do have to work a lot quicker. I wore this few times, it is waterproof and it doesn't smudge.

When I saw this Gel liner in the Beauty Vault I was so excited to try this. I've never tried gel before so this was my first experience . I love using this liner to achieve a bold dramatic eye look.

When this liner arrived I couldn't help myself and I opened it immediately. This Gel comes in this plastic see through pot. Its about 4 grams of product in a jar. The lid is square shaped and has the mellow labelling on it. The gel doesn't have any scent. Looking at the gel in its jar it looks like gel set in the jar. This colour gel is black.

When I first tried it I tested the brush on me hand. I practised doing a couple of lines so I knew what kind of line I want to achieve. I notice holding the brush a certain way gets a thin line or thicker line. When I tried it glided across my top lash line perfectly. The colour was bright and gave lots of emphasis to my eye.

With many uses of this gel, I can say I really have enjoyed the colour that I get from using a gel. I think its more intense than using a pencil. I think this gel liner requires some skill at lining correctly with brush. I do not recommend this if your just starting out. If your confident definitely give this a go.

I got this product from a Lust Have It box I received early this year. Initally loved this product, the brush is perfect size. I have had some applications that were perfect and some also not so perfect, smudged through the day. I still this product but it could be the "fast application" that does not allow it to set properly.

I got this gel liner in a beauty subscription box and at first, I loved it. It is very dark and pigmented and goes on smoothly. The one thing that I didn't like was that it dried very quickly and it was hard for me to fix mistakes. I use this liner as a back up when my fave liner finishes.
