I absolutely love the self heating technology of this mask, it leaves my skin feeling soft and rejuvenated, it feels as though my pores have had a deep cleanse. The mask also has a delicious chocolate scent, which I love. However, it would be good if the mask dried hard.
Tips: make sure the mask doesn't drip down onto your clothing
Montagne Jeunesse is one of those masks I buy and rebuy because of the yummy-sounding flavours. This mask is no exception, however, aside from making my face slightly softer, it has no visible effect of clearing pores.
The warming sensation is wonderful, however, be warned that it gets a bit drippy and may stain your shirt (I learned this the hard way). It never dries despite the clay in it.
It smells absolutely delicious, like melted Jaffas.
Tips: 1. Wear an old t-shirt you don't mind staining just in case the mask drips.
I thought this mask would be fun to use. Most people including me like chocolate. At first I was a bit apprehensive of a sauna masque but after I was given the fudge one, I didn't think to felt that hot and sticky as I thought so why not go for chocolate. The consistency unlike the fudge mask its more runny, it's very much like chocolate sauce. I would recommend applying it in the bathroom over the sink where you can easily clean up any mess. The package says that this masque is really nice rinsed off your face into your bath. I agree since it is messy anyways having it on in the bath you don't have to worry about getting it on your furniture, carpet or clothes. Although I did notice that even though I taped folded the top over each use to keep the contents of the sachet drying out between uses, the product still thickened up a bit so by the end it was more a thick paste I was spreading on my face. I do like the natural ingredients in this masque - zeolite, betonite, illite (Mediterranean clay), glycerin, cocoa powder, cocoa butter, orange oil and vanilla extract. I would like to state though that this masque isn't all natural as the first ingredient is propylene glycol, there's also cetyl hydroxyethylcellulose as a stabiliser and then there's fragrance added. The scent of this masque is an earthy one, much like clay and mud masques smell but it does have a bit of chocolate in the scent. I found this masque really relaxing to have on my face, especially during the winter the warm sensation was really calming. You apply this to your clean wet or damp face and immediately it starts warming up as the water activates the self warming. You can apply it to dry skin and it will warm up but it works best if your skin is wet. This masque doesn't set although if you do leave it on your face for over an hour parts of the masque will dry. Because it barely dries and doesn't set your skin doesn't feel uncomfortably tight while using this masque. After I wash this off my skin is soft and clean. I did have a few less pimples the week I used this. I got three full face and neck applications out of one sachet. The cons of this masque are it's messy, has some not so natural ingredients and by the time you get to the last application despite careful storage bits of the masque have hardened and dried out. Despite that I did enjoy using this and may purchase again.
Tips: The self-heating works best when your face is damp or wet. I like to fold top empty part of the sachet over and tape it shut to keep the unused product from drying out. The first application it has a chocolate sauce consistency but it become more like a paste with each use. I got three full face and neck uses out of the sachet. The instructions say to leave it on for fifteen minutes but I've left it on for longer without any problems. A tip on the site is to apply this masque before you get into a bath and then when you rinse your face rinse it into your bathwater. This doesn't really exfoliate your skin much but it does deep cleanse it. I like to wash my face and then apply this and let sit on my face and then rinse it off in the shower so I get it all off without having to use a face cloth and save on laundry. This does make a nice goodie in a care package or stocking stuffer alongside chocolate or in place of chocolate.
This absolutely heats your face once it has been applied! I loved the amazing chocolate scent the masks leaves, in combination with the heat it makes you feel relaxed like you are at a retreat or spa. My skin felt nice, smooth and nourished after taking the mask off.
A great product that I will be buying again!
