Waxing at home is always going to be more difficult and more painful than getting it done at a salon but this was terrible! The melting and cooling wasn't too annoying, we have a heater to keep wax melted and at a perfect temperature so that part was fine... Pulling it off was a completely different story. You have to wait until it has set to the perfect point, pull it too soon and wax will go everywhere, too late and it's solid and absolutely painful to pull off! if you can ace getting it just right, it works great. I personally have had better success with other waxes so I don't think I'll be rushing to use this again anytime soon and my downstairs thanks me for it!

I tried this a few years ago and jeepers creepers. Never again. I felt like my skin was coming off with the wax. It was a horrible sticky mess. However... (Yes there is a silver lining) I have been using it on my eyebrows and find it brilliant. So much quicker and easier than plucking. I'm a mum of four and a farmer so getting to town to get my brows done just doesn't happen. So yes happy to use on my brows not so bikini!!
Tips: If you do try use it on your brows make sure your brows/ face is clean and free from any moisturisers etc as the hair doesn't stick to it so well. And make sure it's hot enough. Sticks to all the hairs better :)
I am not a huge fan of this product. Its VERY messy and tends to get everywhere. I also found that after about the second time using it became very hard to re-melt the wax. It also cracked a fair bit and not all the wax came off easily! It did its job but I don't believe its worth the mess and extra hassle.
I bought it once and would never buy it again. The advertisement on the box was convincing and it made me believe the strips would work and support the waxing really well. When I opened the box I was disappointed, the strips were just paper, and could only be used one. The wax is surely hard, the instruction said it should not be left in the microwave more than 30 seconds but it took me nearly a minute to melt the wax.
Tips: Keeping the wax warm by putting the jar in a hot bowl of water
TBH I probably wouldn't bother waxing myself at home its too messy and takes to long. However, I did use this product for a while, doing full bikini wax on myself and it is actually decent. I like how its the type where the wax hardens and you don't need strips. I think it is almost as good as the wax that is used by professionals but you need to know what you are doing.
Tips: You need to be careful with the amount you use in one area, too much and it won't harden enough to pull the hair our and too little it will break apart when trying to pull it off. Always put something down in the area you are working in or you will make a giant mess. You can use a towel but TBH I would use newspaper because you can just chuck it out after.
On opening the box the wax pot looks and smells like a fragrance candle, minus the wick. The templates are basically stickers that you apply, using the orange stick provided to fine tune the hairline.
The instructions say to microwave the wax and apply with the lolly sticks, but I found I had to extend the heating time and wait for it to cool significantly, and by the time I had applied half to the area required, the wax had got too cold, and left me wandering back to the kitchen to re-warm it wrapped in a towel (luckily I had the presence of mind to try this whilst my family was out!)
It was not easy to apply around your curvy areas, and pulling it off left some bruising the first time I used it, although I believe this may have been my technique.
I persevered with the treatment over a period of months, but by the time I got towards the end of the pot, the plastic container also melted in the microwave - making a mess that was not easy to clean up!
As with other home kits, I have found that the wax creaks apart and leaves little red spots around the bathroom, these are also not easy to clean off, you have to chip them away once they have dried. Overall I wasn't happy with the product, it didn't seem to get easier with practice.
Tips: Take the Microwave into the bathroom
I was gifted this and was excited to use, since I was paying to get waxed regularly I thought this would be a great money saver! I loved the smell of it, and it did get most of my hairs off. But I’m not sure there was anything else redeeming about this product unfortunately. It was difficult to heat to the right temperature where the wax would go on currently, but not burn your skin. Depending how much waxing you’d be doing you’d have to reheat it regularly to keep going. Even once dried completely on your skin it maybe has still too much softness to it, and didn’t always get all the hairs off. After a few attempts in the same area it would do well.
I actually found it the most useful for waxing between my eyebrows. But doing Brazilian or bikini waxing with this was very difficult. It would get stuck to places I didn’t intend because it’s so sticky.
Overall I found it useful to have to do my waxing at home, but I’m glad this was a gift because I wouldn’t buy it for myself.
Found it really hard to use, I was unsure if I had it hot enough and for how long I should leave it on for. Maybe they should provide some kind of online tutorial you get a code for when you buy the product? Does anyone know any good tutorials ?
Tips: Check the heat before you apply !!!
This most definitely removes hair! I even used it on my face and it worked like a charm. The only reason why I would be less likely to use it again is because I am so bad with the pain of hair removal. I found this very easy to prepare, just a simple heat and a few reheats during the process as it hardens after a while. Also, I really like how I don't need to have strips to remove the wax too, just make sure you have applied quite a thick amount or it will flake off. I didn't use the templates though, that lightning bolt make me LOL!
Im not a waxing expert. I probably shouldnt have got a home kit. It burnt, it hurt, it went everywhere and stuck to everything and left me a bit on the redder side off pink hahaha Id recommend skipping the home jobs and getting a professional to do it :)
