OPI Nail Lacquer Review

I wasn't thrilled when this "texture" trend started but thought I mustn't judge too quickly. Don't knock it til you try it, and all that jazz.

So I tried it.

It was... fine. It took two coats and it looked the way I expected. Just one left it looking a bit bare and thin, but the texture was still present.

The red/pink within black is quite pretty but at the end of the day I just didn't like the rough texture - to see or to touch.

I wanted to see how it would look under gloss. The good news is that it looks amazing. The bad news is it takes at least three layers of top-coat to smooth it out! Who has time for that?

I think I'll leave texture to the real trend addicts. I like my nails glossy and polished looking.

A very sparkly nail polish, one that I would happily wear out on a night out in town. I did find that the finish is quite rough due to the sparkle so you will definitely need a clear top coat just to smooth it out. Apart from that, it's a shade that would please all ages. My little girls love this nail polish due to the colour & especially the sparkle.

I was really looking forward to trying this as I am a massive fan of opi but was left a little bit disappointed. With caviar nails being the in thing I think opi tried to make liquid sand a quick, easy way of achieving that look but with Mariah Carey - Stay the night colour combination it just looks really cheap. Aside from that the polish is thick, fast drying and has a great staying power.

I Found this nail polish to be really surprising, I followed the intructions of placing one coat of base and then two coats of polish and found the colour to be alot pinker than in the bottle, I think I like the colour it comes out as more than what is in the bottle.

The coverage of this nail polish was really nice - thick and opaque after two coats. The colour is gorgeous! Perfect for winter, and catches the light really nicely with the reflective glitters. The only downside for me was the texture; some friends I had shown this to really liked the texture, but for me it was like nails on a chalkboard and made my skin crawl a little everytime I touched it. It didn't chip and was pretty difficult to remove! (need to soak the nails). I don't think I could wear this for long periods of time due to the sandy texture, but the colour is lovely. Also, I found my makeup (while I applied it) settled in the textured polish which was annoying and difficult to clean. I LOVE the matte finish. Overall, worth a try! To me, OPI is the BEST nail polish you can get! The liquid sand did exactly what it said and looked exactly like the pictures you see on OPI advertisements. It goes on effortlessly and has beautiful coverage. The brush is the perfect shape too. I dont think I would buy a liquid sand one though, as I didnt like the texture and matt look on my nails. I prefer shiny and glossy :) I have passed it on to my sister to review too :)

To start with I didn't know whether I liked this polish or not, but over the last day it has grown on me. I didn't think the "liquid sand" in this colour was that amazing, yes it dried to a nice matte finish but I preferred it more after adding a topcoat. Looking at the bottle I thought the colour was actually going to be a really dark blue, but one coat was really light while two coats wasn't very much darker. I didn't think the glitter sparkled very much without a top coat either, was quite more of a subtle shimmer.
