I usually try to stay away from waxing, especially using actual hot wax. There's something at the back of my mind that says it won't work and also I just hate the mess of it. But alas, I'm a lazy person and shaving everyday is just too much commitment for being a woman. I was really excited to try this out when I got it from the vault because it's apple scented (more like children's paracetamol scented) and the packaging looked really cool.
This is easy to heat up and comes with a really detailed instruction manual, so even a dummy likeme managed to follow through. It did indeed remove about 80% if my armpit hair (sorry if TMI!) but it missed the finer, shorter hairs. After I cleaned up with some baby wipes I found that my armpits were stained red??? What is this? I was so confused that I almost laughed. Thinking back, who's idea was it to make the sugar wax bright red? Well, I wiped and wiped some more and finally my skin is back to almost normal. I feel like aside from the staining this is great. I used probably 6 or 7 spatulas of wax and there's still tons left. So this will last me quite a while. However I used two wax fabric strip things, and I'm a bit worried they'll run out a lot faster.
I probably prefer waxing strips over this since they're a lot more convenient but this was fun and not as messy as I expected.
I tried this product over a couple of months, and found it reasonably effective - it removes hair, but its not as conditioning as I'd hoped.
It was easy enough to prep, and it does pick up shorter regrowth on flatter surfaces such as legs and underarms. I found it difficult to use on shorter bikini line areas. I also found that the areas treated were a bit dry and damaged afterwards in the more sensitive areas.
Another disappointing thing I found was small specs of the wax around the bathroom afterwards, so its not as contained as a strip version.
Tips: Best on legs or Arms
