Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub Review

I have used this product for years, as I have dry skin, so require something to exfoliate away the dry skin I develop, but I also have sensitive skin and hate the feeling that some cleansers leave, where your skin feels tight or raw or slightly stinging (a lot of high-alcohol cleaners do this for me, and I'm not sure about the alcohol content of this cleanser, but it doesn't leave skin feeling raw).

The product has a lovely faint scent, which doesn't cling to skin at all. The micro beads are about medium sized, they don't feel too coarse to grate you, but not too fine that they feel ineffectual. Only a small dab (10c piece) is plenty for the entire face, and it's also handy for jaw and chest as well.

If I'm already wearing makeup, I will oil cleanse before I use this. And always tone afterwards.

After receiving a sample size of this along with my last BR vault order I liked it so much I bought a full size tube. Having a preference for citrus infused skin care products, this is one for lovers of the like.

This cleanser has a soft orange scent with orange micro beads through the white creamy formula. It's very gentle although sufficiently cleansing and lathers up so well you need only use a smidgen so it lasts for ages. It's not great for removing makeup but it will do it with 3 goes, it's gentle enough to get away with doing that without drying.

For everyday use this is a decent affordible cleansing wash, leaves skin fresh and soft and I imagine would be suitable for most skin types.

I got a freebie sample of this with my BR Vault goodies and ended up purchasing the full sized product after I had used this up so I guess that speaks for itself in what I thought of it !  .

I have quite dry and sensitive skin so I’m always weary when it comes to scrubs and anything that could be a bit harsh on my face. I use this at night as part of my nightly routine (wash off makeup, cleanse, gentle scrub and followed by rosehip oil and moisturiser).

I only used a small amount (only like a small spot of product) and massaged into my face and chest area (which is a current problem area of acne thanks to hormones). A little does go a long way with this product. The microbeads are a small to medium size and very gentle on the skin. It left my skin feel soft and smooth and very fresh without any irritation or drying out which I do find with some scrubs. It does have a slight fragrance but it’s not overbearing at all ( I really don’t like products with much fragrance).

It says not to use this around the eye area but I actually did (not eyelids) but the underneath and I didn’t have any problems with this which was fantastic.

Overall I was really happy with this daily scrub and for a very reasonable price I will continue to include this in my daily skincare routine.

I would recommend to those who like me can’t tolerate some of the stronger scrubs that dry out and irritate your skin. You don’t need a lot so this product will last you a long time a good staple to have in your skincare arsenal

This scrub would now be one of my all time favorites! I received a sample with my Beauty Box and was so sad once it was all gone that I immediately went out and purchased the full size!

It has a very soft citrus like scent and full of lots of micro beads for a really good exfoliation! I find it doesn't remove makeup well, but if i do a cleanse with it after removing makeup it really makes my skin really soft and gives it a nice glow.

The 125ml tube is incredibly generous as you really dont need a lot for each cleanse/scrub so I can see this tube lasting me a long time.

My face can sometimes be quite dry after a scrub but I have not had this reaction once since using it so would highly recommend for those with dry/sensitive skin

I recently received several mini versions of this product from subscription boxes and friends, and have been using it over the past few weeks. My overall opinion is mixed, but not for the normal reasons.

The product itself I love! The packaging is simple and pretty, and the product works wonders on my skin. The formula smells delicious, and has little exfoliating beads that are fantastic for removing dead skin. It leaves my skin feeling clean without tight, and cleansed without overly so.

My ONLY dislike about this product is that it contains microbeads, which I am very opposed to because of the environmental damage they cause. I still find it concerning that microbeads are being manufactured. For this reason I will not be purchasing nor recommending to friends, for the sake of the fishies!

This Exfoliator has earnt itself a permanent spot in our shower - my partner loves it.

Recently my 30yo partner decided he was ready to do more than just wash his face with soap (cringe!) and after quite a bit of research I thought I would start him off slowly.

This exfoliator is what I chose for him, something that'll give his skin a deep clean but is not too harsh, being a Mechanic he gets all sorts in his skin during the day and he would break out weekly due to not getting all of that residue off properly.

He now uses this every night, has told all his friends about it and I am forever buying new bottles for him in our fortnightly shopping.

Perfect start to a skincare regime for men, and I often use it myself - simple, effective and cheap!

I was lucky enough to receive a generous sample size of this in my last BR Beauty Box. I have tried this a few times before and always enjoyed it. I seem to accidentally collect scrubs so I haven't repurchased as I usually have something else on standby to try next.

The product itself is a nice white cream with the orange 'beads' in it to exfoliate the skin. I like that the base of the product seems to be a really nice cream cleanser. When you add a bit of water to the product as massaging into your skin it foams up a wee bit which makes your skin feel super clean after you have washed it off (if not a wee bit drying out). I like the way that it makes my skin feel extra smooth but I do make sure to use something extra moisturising afterwards.

On the back it says if you experience dry-ness and irritation use less frequently. For me this creates a bit more redness than it should if I use it any more than once or twice a week, but that is fine as that seems to be all I need.

It is a fantastic product for the price, and once I run out of my other scrubs I will definitely repurchase.

Comes in a cute 15ml squeezy tube where you can get every last drop as it sits on the lid.

I am use to a gel cleaners (without beads) so was apprehensive before using.

The cleansing scrub is a white cream with orange micro beads and has a light citrus scent to it. Noit overpowering and cannot smell after.

I removed my eye make up before I showered. When I cleansed my face with Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub, I wet my face first and squeezed it into my hands then applied to my face. I rubbed my hands in a gentle circular motion (not around the eye area) and then rinsed off. I liked the way the scrub felt on my face. From habit with my gel cleanser, I also added a little water to my hands first and rubbed together before applying.

My face feels very smooth, soft and clean after scrubbing.

I always tone and moisturise or serum and moisturise after.

I have lost count of how many of these I've been through over the years - there always seems to be 2-3 of them floating around my travel bag - and they're always awesome. I believe my most recent ones were courtesy of BR, as it happens - BRBB and BV!

The slightly gritty cream that emerges from the tube is far softer and more gentle than you'd think. As it lathers up it retains it's creaminess and that feeling transfers to your face. The scent is also creamy and soft, which is soothing.

I don't find this to be at all stripping, drying or acne-aggravating. It's probably a little harsh for 2x a day every day, but for a few times a week, or a few days in a row on holiday, it's great.

I don't particularly like the packaging - I find it a bit clinical and serious - but it's the product that really matters, and that is great.

I picked up a trial pack of this from the December BRBB. It has an orange citrus smell, which I think is yummy.

The texture of this is grainy and feels a bit rough. When you are squeezing the white cream with orange beads out of the tube it does hold its shape. This exfoliates well and is customised to you depending on how hard you press/rub the product against your skin. While it does clean my face it didn’t foam much for me maybe I didn’t add enough water to it, however it did mean could see where I scrubbed. It also contains acids that help the beads remove the skin. It says beta hydroxyl on the front but the ingredient list has salicylic acid. You have to rinse this one off really well, I think it is to make sure the beads are gone. My face did feel clean and smooth after using it. This is not a product that I would use everyday but it is nice in rotation with other cleansers.

Would I repurchase? It is a product that I would consider for repurchase depending on my needs. It is not an immediate repurchase as I do have other options that I would like to try.
