Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub Review

To begin I should tell you my skin type: I am oily - dehydrated, slightly enlarged pores through cheeks, nose and forehead. I have some redness and old acne scarring (though not too bad). My skin's texture is very rough and dull.

I used this product all through my mid-late teens and it was a heaven send for my hormonal, greasy, pimple prone skin. The scrub is very gentle and actually quite mild, so much so that I could get away with using this every second day. The product itself is very creamy and smells fine, not offensive at all. You don't need a huge amount to cleanse your entire face/neck and it really does leave your skin feeling nice and smooth. I did find that this helped any active pimples go down and it helped to fight off any potential invaders. I think that as a whole the product is great, I really like Neutrogena as an overall skincare brand and have used a lot of their products over the years - this is one I have repurchased several times though. It's great as it's very pocket friendly which is appealing to teens, who I think would really benefit from this scrub. Will I repurchase? No, not because I don't like it but because I feel like I wouldn't really benefit form it any more as I look for more 'complicated' products that will deal to more of my skin's issues - this is just a nice basic product that I don't have any use for though it is fantastic!

I have had psoriasis for almost 7 years now. It comes and goes in degree of severity and after trying too many skincare products to count I have never found anything that truly works in the long term.

This exfoliator is great, it is perfect for sensitive skin like mine. It removes all the dirt and grime left over on your skin from they without causing any irritation or redness.

I would definitely recommend this to people with a similar to mine.

I have been generously gifted a few sample sizes of this. As a fan of Neutrogena, I was excited at the idea of trying this - as I love a good exfoliator.

This definitely does what it says it will; it definitely removes the first and grime from you face. I typically use this after using makeup remover and this gets rid of any makeup that my remover may have missed. The scent is subtle and fresh and isn't irritating to my skin at all.

The exfoliating particles aren't overly rough and I like the feeling of this being massaged into my face. Unfortunately after using this my skin feels like a desert. I have naturally dry skin and this seems to sap out any moisture in my skin. Even if I use my most hydrating moisturisers after this, my skin still feels dry and tight.

Because of that I won't continue to use this and definitely won't repurchase it. I gave a tube of it to my sister (who has oily skin), and she loves it - so if you have oily skin then perhaps this will be something you want to try.

When I saw this scrub in the market, the packaging was seriously so boring that I got no hopes from it t all. But since it said the word "Gentle" on the tube I decided to give it a go and it did not let me down.

It has very small orange colored beads which don't feel harsh on my skin. It has beta hydroxy which has been proved to clean pores deeply. Even though it contains Beta hydroxy and is an exfoliating scrub, it does not dry out my skin. The scrub has a pleasant orange smell and after its use my skin feels really soft and smooth. I felt my pores are less visible after using it and my skin didn't break out at all (I have normal skin but sometimes I do get breakouts if I use products with harsh ingredients). I can't comment on removing the blackheads part as I never had any.

The only negative thing that I can point about this scrub is that it is hard to take out the scrub when the tube gets half empty, maybe because the air fills inside. No other negative points about it. I love the scrub.

I've been using this exfoliator on and off since high school, and I love how after I've used it, my skin always feels ultra smooth and looks polished, with a natural shine (not oily!). I have sensitive skin too, and it barely irritates my skin, which is pretty amazing for a product which would usually irritate anybody's skin! It also smells quite nice. The only thing I don't like is the cheap look of the packaging. Maybe it's the colours?

I really liked the smell of this scrub, delicious! Don't need to use a lot of product to clean your whole face, so it is a good economic scrub. Cleaned my face effectively & left it feeling good.

I dont like the container, as I prefer a flip cap lid for products like this. I'd like to have confirmation from Neutrogena that the small orange beads break down quickly - I dont like the idea that fish may die from me washing my face, although I like that fish die so I can feed my face.

This face wash is so nice to use! I love face scrubs (scrubs in general!) and this one is rough enough to clean your pores but gentle enough for every day use. Regarding my blackheads, I don't notice a major difference, so it only works mildly well.

The formula is very creamy and contains little orange chunks which work all the magic on your skin. The only thing I'm not really keen on is the smell - I hate Vitamin C tablets and this smells like the ones sitting in the bathroom cabinet. I usually run away when I'm told to have them, but I can't run from myself in the shower.

This formula of this on my face is so good, I really feel like it gets into every nook and cranny on my face, and my face is left dirt free and feeling very well looked after. I wouldn't repurchase this, only because I want to try different things!

Neutrogena's Deep Clean Gentle Scrub was one of the first scrubs I purchased for myself and I can easily say it's a tried and true product. What initially attracted me to it was partly the Neutrogena brand, as I've had positive experiences with their skincare, and partly the promise of being gentle enough to use every day.

The squeeze-tube packaging allows you to moderate how much product you use, but I found a small dollop of this is all you need. The formula is thick and creamy, less like the traditional scrub but more like a cream facial wash. Once you massage it into your skin you can feel the tiny exfoliating particles gently buffing away at your skin.

This has a slight citrus scent to it that I find really refreshing and this helps make it the perfect scrub to start the day. My skin feels soft to touch without the redness harsher scrubs can give.

I have repurchased this several times and while it isn't my favourite scrub, I would happily use it again and recommend it either for those wanting daily exfolliation or just a gentle scrub to add to their skincare routine that's readily available and good value.

I was lucky enough to get a little tube of this, and then receive my sisters after she couldn't use it. So from their generous samples I got quite a lot of use. I love minis, and this was the perfect little replica of the full size. I can't comment on the ease of use of the large size, but if it is based on the same easy squeeze it will be great.

The formula is a sort of toothpaste texture with microbeads. Unfortunately I have read that they are polyethylene (plastic) beads. (Please correct me below if I am wrong, or the formula has changed.)

It has a punchy citrus scent, would be a good wake up scent in the morning. It lathers up slightly and is easy to massage onto my skin. The beads are a gentle exfoliater and my skin feels clean afterwards. I have quite oily skin most the time, but when I use this my skin feels like it has been sapped of all moisture. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for dry skin. I disagree also with their claim that it is gentle enough to use every day, for me if I was to do that my skin would end up so dry. It was been popped into the shower and I used it once every week or two if my skin was feeling quite congested.

Unfortunately because of the drying factor, and now reading that the beads are plastic - this is not something that I would repurchase.

I love this Neutrogena scrub, i got given three 15ml sample sizes from Neutrogena last year. They were perfect sizes for travelling. This scrub reminds me a lot of the st ives scrubs as it has the same little beads in it so if you love the st ives i defiantly recommend you try this as well! This smells like oranges not over powering just a nice scent to it. I use a fifty cent sized amount of the product massaging it gently in to my skin, i love the feeling of the micro beads ex foliating my skin! it also really helped with my pores as well! The packaging says it is meant to be oil free and that fact is true, i didn't have any oiliness. Although i didn't pay for my samples, i would happily pay the $14 for it when i purchase it. The packaging is great! easy to squeeze the product out of. This was also fine on my sensitive/combination skin, it didn't give me a rash or anything like that so that was a win for me. Overall a nice gentle scrub that i will be recommending to friends!
