Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover Review

Alrighty I've tried quite a few eye make up removers and basically all of them, no matter what they claim, made my eyes sting and go red and itch and all the rest of it. But not only does this product NOT sting my eyes, it also WORKS. It's so incredibly easy for me to take off my eyeshadow (including cream eyeshadows), my waterproof liquid eyeliner, my pencil eyeliner that's super hard to take off and best of all, my mascara. Why is my mascara best of all? Because, ladies, I use They're Real mascara. That's right. The only claim it doesn't fulfill is the fact that it DOES leave an oily residue behind.

Update: It is now March and the last couple of days I have used this it has stung/made my eyes itchy. I'm thinking it's probably just gone bad? I'm almost to the bottom. If you've had this kind of trouble please let me know.

Really great for removing stubborn eye make up, though you do have to rest the cotton soaked pad on your eye for a while (10sec minimum) to have it truly wipe everything away. The only issue I have had in using this product is the 'non oily' claims, I don't think that I am using too much of the product, but I always feel like I have bathed my eye area in a vat of oil after use! This is easily taken care of by then washing my face again, however it is a bit of a let down.

Bought this last week and I'm in love with it already! It's so gentle on my sensitive eyes and there's no redness/irritation afterwards whatsoever. I get a cotton ball and soak it in the remover then hold it against my eyes for a few seconds. Then a few wipes and everything's gone! It even gets rid of all my waterproof eyemakeup. It claims to be oil free and despite looking as if half of it is oil, it actually feels very light and fresh. The smell is very faint and not unpleasant.

This is a great product. It is so gentle, yet removes all traces of my very solid waterproof mascara! It has a lovely fresh, light scent and the price is great for how long it lasts but that is probably from how I only put a couple of drops on a cotton pad and leave on my closed eyes for a few seconds. I've had no break outs from using this regularly but I do find it quite oily... but it does the job great

I really like this product. I'd tried a few eye makeup removers and found them problematic because I had to scrub to get mascara off. This one doesn't suffer from this problem. If I have particularly hard set makeup, I do leave the makeup pad sitting over my eye for a second before I begin wiping the makeup off. I don't think this is oil free, because the liquids separate in the bottle, and also because my skin feels decidedly oily after using it (this is one reason I'd like to give micellar water a shot - though judging from the name it probably isn't much different). If it doesn't include any oil products, it certainly includes products that feel and behave like oils. I will definitely continue to use this brand of makeup remover. It's effective and gentle on my skin, even if I don't think it's strictly "oil-free".

I think this is a great makeup remover. It cleans off my eye makeup so easily and I don't have to be tugging at my eyelashes. I do find that my eyes get warm when I use it, like I'm a step away from it starting to burn as I have really sensitive skin. But I just rinse with cold water after and it's fine. I also have to rinse with water after because it leaves this oily residue on my skin which I'm not really sure what it is as it's supposed to be oil free. But apart from that I love it and will keep on using it.

I have to say I think this is a fabulous eye makeup remover.

It makes removing waterproof mascara a breeze (which as we know can be quite stubborn to remove).

I like to leave the cotton pad on my eye for about 10 seconds before wiping the makeup away.

It is very gentle and there is no stinging which is great. But, the remover leaves an ‘oily’ residue after use even though it is meant to be oil-free …so not too sure what it is if it’s not oil?

The only downfall for me is that overtime it left my eye area very dry (skin flaking kind of dry) so unfortunately for that reason I won’t be repurchasing it.

Good price and a little goes a long way so it lasts a while.

I have bought this product a couple of times, not because I love it, mostly because I am so undecided about it. I find I have to use a lot of the product to remove my eye make up, also the makeup pads soak up a lot. You definately need to place the make up pad over your eyes & hold for awhile then swipe gently. I have to use a combination of make up pads & cotton buds otherwise I wake up with panda eyes from remaining residue. I really like the texture of the remover, it feels very smooth & silky around the eye once the makeup has been removed, it doesn't sting at all which I am happy about as I have very sensitive eyes. I would prefer the bottle had a small dripper or cap where you could control the amount that was coming out, it would make it a lot easier to use. I think next time around I'll purchase another product to compare, it might help me to decide if this will be a future repurchase.

This makeup remover is my favorite that I have tried so far. I like it because it effectively removes all makeup EASILY without having to use a million cotton pads and loads of the product. I feel like it is a bit lighter than some other makeup removers I have used previously which I like as I feel like it will not make me break out like other oilier products sometimes do.

I have used this product for a about two years now and use it when I have a full face of heavy or stubborn makeup on that face wash alone will not remove. I have also in the past used it on clients whilst I have been freelancing and have found it great to use on everyone that I have used it on.

I think this product is value for money and will continue to use it as it continues to do its job for me! Great product!

An amazing product yes and I use it everyday and will continue to use it, but this product proudly claims it leaves no oily residue. It does. However this is not a problem for me as I tend to wash my face anyway after using it to make sure all my make up is gone. It sure does remove waterproof mascara quickly with minimal eye rubbing which I love though!
