Overall this is a lovely creamy milk-type cleanser which is great for dry skin types, has the usual lovely refreshing 'Nivea' fragrance to it. Does an ok job of cleansing if you wear next to no makeup but it doesn't do a good job of removing mascara or any eyeliner. I prefer cold creams to get a thorough clean without drying, and to remove makeup properly.

Tips: Use with a warm cloth for best results.
I really enjoy this product as a cheap cleansing Lotion. It smells lovely, fresh and creamy like the traditional Nivea smell.
I apply this to a dry face and start working it into my makeup especially my eye makeup (I do not wear waterproof) I like to give my face a little massage - oh, how good that feels at the end of the day.
Once my face has turned black from product (lol) I like to wash off using warm water and a flannel. When all the product is washed off I go in again with the Nivea on a moist (arg) face. I then pat my face dry.
My face is left makeup free and really soft, even without applying moisturiser. This is such a soft gentle cleansing lotion that would be great for all skin types. I really do enjoy this lotion and will continue to purchase as I never get sick of it.
Tips: A must have budget buy
I'm a huge fan of most Nivea products but this one is prob my fav product when it comes to cleaning my face gently. I use this product to remove my makeup including eye makeup and it leaves my face extremly clean. The formula is very gentle with that Nivea soft scent. I have acne prone skin and this product does it irritate my skin and does not break me out. Although it doesn't clear up my acne it def helps keeping my skin clean. The price is cheap and I find I use the product daily and it still lasts me a good 6 weeks!
Tips: Great to use to remove non waterproof eye makeup also!
I love Nivea products they have always been part of my medicine cabinet for as long as I can remember but unfortunately this one disappointed me, It has the "Nivea" smell to it which I love
It is a creamy lotion which glides and emulisfies easily on the skin, and doesn't feel like its dragging.
Overall it is a good cleanser but I found it only removes minimal make up, it struggled and was very ineffective with my heavy professional foundation and also my gel liner, I was left looking like a panda even after 2-3 cleanses.
It did leave my skin feeling soft and moisturized, but due to my experience with non make up removal, I will not repurchase this product in the future.
.
Tips: Is great for a body wash in the shower.
I'm a fan of Nivea products, they are good quality and have a wide array of products that make your skin feel lovely at an affordable price. Therefore, I was very excited to try this cleanser and I was actually looking forward to cleansing my face at the end of the day! (That's the first time I've said that!)
The packaging is distinctly Nivea, simple and no-fuss with a tall bottle and a cap to dispense the product. The packaging suits it's simple and affordable product. It's so handy that this cleanser can be brought from the supermarket, with your weekly shopping.
As I open the packaging the first thing I think of is that the smell of this cleanser is devine, I will never tire of this classic Nivea smell! It smells so refreshing and calming. It has to one of my favourite smells for cleansers that's for sure.
The cleanser in itself is lotion-like, creamy, and the colour of milk. I use this by dispensing some into my hand and in circular motions I massage and distribute it over my face, to cleanse the foundation and makeup of my face. I then use water to remove the cleanser and wash my face clean.
The positive about this cleanser is it's so incredibly gentle, there's no tight feeling or eye stinging as I cleanse my face. After cleansing my skin feels so hydrated and so silky soft.
So, although it states its for normal skins, it's also great for dry, sensitive skins as well. My skin can be reactive to some products, but no irritation at all with this.
However, on the downside this formula doesn't seem to cleanse my face very well...possibly it's too gentle? It struggled to take off my mascara and eye makeup - this makeup didn't seem to budge at all using this cleanser, even after several attempts of cleansing. So, if you are like me and wear mascara/eye makeup everyday , you will have to use a separate eye makeup remover in conjunction with this.
Overall, it's a nice and gentle cleanser, but I probably wouldn't repurchase it in the future, as it doesn't tick all the boxes that I look for in a cleanser.
At the end of the day, when I'm ready to take off my makeup, I expect my cleanser to cleanse my face thoroughly and effectively, including removing my eye makeup. (Ideally, I want to use one product that just takes it all off, not a combination of a cleanser and also eye makeup remover). Therefore, I was rather disappointed the Nivea Daily Essentials lotion didn't really do the job I expected it to in cleansing my face.
Unfortunately, this isn't the cleanser for me, so I will be continuing in my search to find my holy grail cleanser!
Tips: This cleanser is probably suited to those of you who wear minimal makeup, as it doesn't do a good job of cleansing off long wearing foundation, or any eye makeup.
This cleanser comes in a simple plastic white bottle with the Nivea logo and details in blue. It's not fancy, but it is functional and inoffensive. A pump would be the easiest way to dispense the product, but it isn't difficult to squeeze it out, just a little messy occasionally, due to the consistency.
The product itself is a fairly runny white lotion that has the distinctive Nivea scent - slightly baby powdery/sunscreeny. While I really like it, it is quite strong, so if you are sensitive to scented products, particularly on your face, you may want to steer clear of this.
Because the lotion is quite runny, it's easy to overestimate how much you will need. I only use about a $2 size amount, which is plenty for my whole face. It feels really nice to massage into my skin after a long day, and the whole experience is quite relaxing. I do find that it's not a product I can just swipe quickly over my face and then rinse; it does need a bit of working into the skin to start cleansing.
Like the name says, this feels very refreshing. It almost has a slight cooling sensation (not irritating) when applied.
Probably my favourite thing about this cleanser is that it can be rinsed off with water. It doesn't exactly 'emulsify' in a visible way, but it does seem to break down and rinse away easily, which is a nice change to having to use a cloth as with a lot of cream-type cleansers.
Once rinsed, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft, not greasy or dried out like a lot of cleansers leave it. I haven't experienced any breakouts or irritation as a result of using this. It really is gentle on my skin, which is lovely.
However. As much as I like this cleanser generally, I can't give it a super high rating, because it really falls short on one of its claims. Although it removes light makeup, such as powder and light concealer, it really seems to be too gentle for more heavy-duty/long lasting makeup. It just doesn't effectively cleanse products such as my MAC Pro Longwear concealer, and as for my waterproof mascara? It barely budges, no matter how much I try. On top of that, I wore a red lippie the other night, and this left me with quite a noticeable stain after cleansing.
So, if you're looking for a gentle, hydrating cleanser to remove minimal, light makeup, then I would highly recommend this. However, as a general all-in-one makeup cleanser, I don't think it's very effective, so I personally won't be repurchasing once this runs out.
Tips: Gently massage this all over your dry skin, and then rinse with lukewarm water to remove. If you're not having success with this as a makeup remover, it's worth trying out as a gentle morning cleanser!
i loved this it removed all my mascara which i find had to remove because i use waterproof as every girl should and honestly it worked like a charm i didnt hurt my eyes from rubbing to hard and it smells nice.. its nice to find it in the supermarket aswell while im shopping for other things and its a good price i would defiantly use it again and i encourage ALL you ladys to use this if u hate getting sore eyes from trying to remove your waterproof mascara.. ps never got dry or oily skin my face felt as smooth as i was born i love it :)
There are some smells that just take you back to your childhood, and unlike the children of today, where it will probably be the smell of an IPad – for me it is things like; Play dough, freshly cut grass and of course the old NIVEA cream.
I love NIVEA generally and this product did not disappoint. It’s a lotion so it comes out fairly runny but it is packaged in a generous bottle and has a handy flip top if you want to use it in the shower.
As soon as you use it your senses are enveloped in the wonderful NIVEA fragrance so synonymous with this brand.
It took off my make up really easily and claims to remove waterproof Mascara although I don’t wear this so I couldn’t comment on whether it would or not.
Post cleanse I my face felt soft and supple and did not have that tight feeling which is a sure sign that the moisture has been stripped from your face.
All in all a great Cleanser and at under $10 on special..why wouldn’t you?
Tips: Wait until it's on special at your local Supermarket..then pantry stock.
this is a good well known company and this lotion does not let it down. it is very smooth and easy to put on as bigger bottles have a pump. it is a little bit oily on the skin for a start but does go away as it dry's
Have been using this for a few years now and having switched a couple of times to other brands during this time I keep going back to this makeup remover/cleanser.
The smell is okay - nothing bad or great about it - but it leaves your skin feeling so soft and refreshed. I use this with cotton pads to remove the makeup which I find removes most of it, I then wash my face with a normal face cleanser after.
I would recommend this product to anyone who doesn't wear a lot of heavy makeup, and for those who have sensitive skin as it is a really light, soothing cleanser.
It is also very reasonably priced ranging between $7-$12 (depending on specials) at supermarkets.
