NIVEA Stress Protect Deodorant Aerosol Review

It was okay, did it's job and everything. Except it had a really strange chemical smell to it, which wasn't exactly nice.

The Nivea Stress Protect anti-perspirant saved me from many sweaty armpits while working as a waitress in a small, humid restaurant that has no air conditioning. I'd spray it on and not have to worry about sweating, leaving me with a stress free night. It has a typical deodorant smell that I can find a bit overpowering when sprayed because I'm sensitive to smells, but once it's on, it fades to a subtle pleasant smell that's much more bearable. I did find that they spray did wear off by the evening if I sprayed in the morning, and so it didn't quite last 24 hours, let alone 48 hours as it claimed. However, the small sample sized bottle will last a long time, and is very easy to carry around, and so I can easily re-spray if needed.

It had a light citrus scent which was noticeable but not potent during the day. It didn't irritate my sensitive skin and overall it was great at keeping sweat and body odour at bay and found that it lasted all day in the NZ summer heat which we have been blessed with lately!

... I don't really think there is any difference between this aerosol and the other nivea aerosols to be completely honest. I trialed this product while my body has been under the stress of bad health. I do however, love the smell, love the lightness of it, and also the fact its not an overpowering scent. The product itself is great, and I would use it again... but I'm not 100% sold on the whole "stress protect" claim. I'm quite sure any of the fantastic nivea range would give the same results.

I used this product for seven days prior to writing this review and I think it’s probably been the perfect week for this trial. Not only has the temperature reached more than 30deg but it’s been an insane work week with 12+ hour days, racing home at lunch to let my dog out, racing back to meet deadlines, running to meet people after work – you get the picture!

The protection is brilliant, I couldn’t fault it. I also love that it didn’t leave marks on my black clothes, something that so many products do.

The downside: the fragrance. I hate to be negative, especially as this is my first product that I have been given to trial, but I found the scent too overpowering. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a horrible fragrance at all, it’s just that I found it competed with my perfume or scented moisturiser.

Would I use this product again? I wouldn’t hesitate to use this product if they released one that didn’t have such a strong scent.

I was super excited when I found out that I got chosen for this trial. When I received it in the mail I thought that the design was quite nice. I liked the orange on the white. It made it stand out. When I first sprayed the deodorant on I found that the smell was at first a little too much, it was a bit choking. After awhile it settled and I thought that it smelt quite fresh and also refreshing. After using the deodorant spray for a few days I found that it did what it's job just like my normal roll on deodorant. Because I don't perspire much or on a daily basis and there weren't any hot or sunny days it was hard to tell how well it did do it's job. I was not sure if it did help protect during stress as because I am on holiday I have had it pretty stress free lately. I think the price is pretty good for what you are getting. This would not necessarily be my go to deodorant as I prefer roll on deodorant but it isn't to say that I won't buy it again :)

I was initially quite skeptical of this as I haven't used a spray deodorant since high school, and have recently been using a clinical strength one during summer to make sure I don't sweat. I was pleasantly surprised. The spray dries on the skin almost immediately and has a nice fragrance. It wasn't as effective as my clinical strength however that is to be expected. It worked better than I thought and didn't leave white marks, however I did still sweat on hot days or in a hot office. I think the 'stress protect' is totally just marketing - sweat is sweat no matter whether it's caused by stress, heat, exercise etc - but the deodorant is good and I was pleasantly surprised. It is on par with my non clinical strength roll on deodorants, but takes less time to dry and leaves no white marks on my clothing so that is a bonus.

I recommended this to my boyfriend when he ran out of his deodorant so I suppose it's definitely a very good product especially for a spray. I would repurchase for when I don't feel it will be very hot etc, when I don't need a clinical strength deodorant but still want to know I won't sweat. The spray is convenient and I was impressed how well it worked considering it is an aerosol.

Unfortunately, the weather where I live never got warm enough to truly put it to the test, however, I did wear the deodorant for several days and never once did I feel like I needed to top up like I do with other brands. I found the smell to be very strong at first, but it gradually got weaker and even when the scent had disappeared, there was no hint of body odour coming through. Pretty good product overall, will definitely use again as my go-to during summertime, at least.
