This is my first concealer and so I opted for a cheaper one by a recognized brand. The NYX Above and Beyond Full coverage concealer has a very thick consistency which softens and smoothes out as you swirl your finger on the surface. It sits in almost solid form in the small jar.
The packaging itself is made of glass. It has a plastic screw-lid and is a perfect size for travel. If you prefer a brush over your finger to apply the product, I'm not quite sure how that would work as the product is quite stubborn and may need the warmth of your fingertips to (in a way) "melt" it.
The application of the product is a hit in miss. In the most oily places on my face were the places that looked the best. This was because the dry patches on my face caught the concealer and so gathered in those areas - which I found really unflattering. I also found myself having to keep on dipping my finger in the product (I say dipping but I really mean rubbing/swirling because of the thick consistency) multiple times to cover the dark areas of my face - and I have a teeny face!
The coverage is okay. I wouldn't go as far as say it is "Above and Beyond" because the thickness of the product is what gives me the full coverage (and sometimes a cakey texture).
Personally, I would much prefer a wand concealer as you can apply all you need with a couple of swipes, seal the tube and blend. I prefer a watery texture when it comes to concealers as I found this very hard to blend. It took a little working and rubbing. However, it still manages to cover up blemishes and pimple scars here and there PLUS the price is reasonable - I got the shade 'Tan' (which was a bit too red-toned for me, then again nearly all things I've tried is!) for $4 on Amazon for the smallest tub.
I did love the coverage for this concealer, however the shades were all very pink toned and did not sit very well on my skin.
