Thank you BR for recommending this Sunscreen. Its awesome. I found it to be totally non greasy so makeup glides on without streaking. No white caking either. The scent is about perfect. Not too cloying just very faint and hard to describe , almost non existent.A little goes a very long way so well worth the outlay.

Tips: I bought the family size and think it will outlast me so next time I would buy the travel size. Its not only easier on the pocket but it means you can slip it into your bag for a day at the beach.
A little while ago, I sent my daughter to daycare with her new sunscreen. I had been using aveeno sunscreen as my little girls skin is really sensitive because of her eczema. But when I ran out, I struggled to find more of the aveeno sunscreen. I checked multiple supermarkets, chemists and even a few warehouses but I had no luck. So I decided to try a nivea one.....
The same day I picked her up from daycare, her teacher told me her skin had reacted to the new sunscreen and it flared up her eczema quite severly. So I had to get rid of it.
I turned to some friends I've made on the BR site and quite a few of them recommened I try the oasis sun. So I searched it on the internet and was quite thrown back by the price. $40 to me was very pricey. Especially for sunscreen (and because I needed two, one for daycare and one for home, I was even more hesitant). It must have been my lucky day though as one of the girls put up a link to a website that currently had it on special so without hesitation I put it in my cart and checked out.
I'm so glad I did. It was like a miracle worker. I had to do a test patch first because I didn't want my girls skin to flare up again because I know how sore and uncomfortable it makes her.
The next day her skin was looking good so I knew that this product was going to be good for her. I used it sparingly (a little goes a long way) for a few months and her skin was looking better than ever. It didn't leave that awful sunscreen smell, it didn't leave her looking greasy and there were no ghost white patches in sight. It's really easy to rub in too. I find with most other sunscreens it takes quite a while for you to actually rub the product in properly so there's no residue left on your skin. So this is perfect for little ones who don't like to sit still for very long.
It protected her skin from the sun better than any other sunscreen. It said to re apply every so often so I would put some on her in the morning, and then her teachers would put more on at lunch time. And it worked brilliantly. She was protected from the sun all day long.
The only negative thing about this product is the price. Spending $40 on sunscreen all the time is just slightly ridiculous. Especially for a family. I will definitely repurchase, but only when it's on sale.
This product is great for sensitive skin. Its also non greasy which make me feel comfortable wearing it on my face while enjoying a day in the sun. I sometime brake our in a slight rash if I use the wrong product on my face. Didn't happen with this. I love that it is NZ made too. It is a shame its a tad on the expensive price but is often the case if you want quality and nz made. It does seem to last well which makes up the expensive price tag.
I used this for the whole of last summer, including in Sydney. I found it was great, there was a slight whitening but no rashes like from other chemically produced creams and a neutral smell.
I was lucky enough to win a bottle of this sunscreen to try. I hate wearing sunscreen in general because of the greasy feeling it leaves me and I didn't get that with this bottle.
I also use it on my kids.
I love the idea of this sunscreen. Instead of the usual 'apply and rub in', this one says to apply but DON'T rub in. Instead, it just settles onto the skin.
I love this because it meant I could see any patches that I had missed and I felt like it was very heavy coverage for my baby girl.
On the downside, it turns out it doesn't ALWAYS absorb - both hubby and I had patches of sunscreen on our ears an hour later and he had a go at me about 'don't rub it in and it'll disappear, aye?'
Nevertheless, I feel this is an excellent sunscreen for when protection is more important than going for an invisible sunscreen look.
This is the only sunscreen I could use on my daughter when she was younger, she was allergic to all the others, a huge red rash would appear after applying them to her skin. This is a great sunscreen, it is very gentle on your skin and is so good for people with sensitive skin as it has alot of natural ingredients in it. I used it few times on my face and body, I found it really good but because of the slightly higher price I mainly used it on my daughter.
I received a little sample tube of Oasis Beauty Sun 30+ when I ordered a full sized tube of Oasis Beauty BB Cream.
Oasis Beauty Sun 30+ is full of natural ingredients like jojoba oil, shea butter and vitamin E to help protect and moisturise your skin. Best of all, it's suitable for the whole family and can be used on toddlers and children, as well as during pregnancy.
The formula of the sunscreen has a non-greasy finish, with invisible protection that will not stain your clothes. It can be used on face and body and it can be worn under make-up without causing the make-up to slip.
There are no animal products in Oasis Beauty's goodies, so Sun 30+ is suitable for vegans, is cruelty-free and is free from parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sulphate and nano-particles.
There is only one downside to this product; it is not water-resistant. Being married to a fair-skinned, red-headed surfer, who spends hours at a time in the water, I know the importance of having a water-resistant sunscreen. If it's not water-resistant, it simply washes off after a few minutes and there is no sun protection while you're splashing around in the water.
Oasis Beauty Sun 30+ is great to use on a daily basis, under make-up, or when I'm out gardening, exploring or BBQing but if we're going to the beach, I prefer to use a water-resistant sunscreen.
I'd recommend it if you're looking for something to wear on a daily basis.
Tips: Add it to your daily skincare routine
After having a major allergic reaction to a certain sunscreen brand making my face swell, burn, causing breathing problems and putting me in hospital I am so careful as to what sun protection I use. I use this sunscreen with no problems. I guess with the allergy I can't be too picky and have to take what works but I love that this is locally made, packed full of natural ingredients and is effective. I would say there are a few flaws - can make skin have a white appearance until fully absorbed, not waterproof, and needs to be reapplied more regularly than some other sunscreens but these are minor. The fact I can use it and not worry about dying is a huge plus. Reasonably priced for the size and actually applies easily and spreads far so good value for something that's not packed full of too many chemicals. No strong or unpleasant scent.. it smells like sunscreen - very plain. Very sensitive to heat I find so if left in car this can alter the effectiveness and viscosity of the product so I recommend keeping in the house or bag.. but this isn't a problem when there are some great sizes available for purchase. The range has sample to family size and a large family pump size - very handy. I understand that oasis actually makes a water proof one now so will be testing that out for the beach but for now I will be super happy to use this.
Tips: ALWAYS do a test patch. Don't keep in car or places that will get too hot.
I love NZ products!! Oasis Beauty is no exception, they put out power punches of highly effective products and this one is just as you would expect from them. I got a tube of this mainly to use under my make-up as some extra protection over the summer period and I have not been dissapointed on that front. My face has stayed pretty much burn free all season, yay. I took it away camping and ended up using it for myself and the kids as an every day sunscreen along with some other ones I had (its usually whats closest at hand when the kids wanna go outside). Its not a product I would reccommend for using with kids unless you are prepared to re-apply it often, and I mean, every time they get out of the water and at least every 2 hours if they are not swimming. Learnt that lesson the hard way (oops, sorry sis I got your kid a bit burnt). I, quite frankly, couldnt be bothered drying the kids off after a swim and doing that and as for the kids?? keeping them still to do that is just not going to work so, back to something else for them. As for me, I will keep using it on my face and body around home for sure, it goes on really smoothly with a very liquidy consistency and needs to be rubbed in really well or you will be left with white marks where you havent. It smells great too, quite fresh and not like a sunscreen at all. :-)
Tips: Apply, apply and re-apply.
