Sulfate Free Search

I have been trialling numerous sulphate free shampoos over the past year, on the lookout for one that can tame the mane that is my hair. I have found that products claiming to be "sulphate free" can be separated in to two quite distinctly different groups.

The first being those that are very conditioning often a cleansing conditioner (shampoo and conditioner in one) that apparently cleanse the hair while deep conditioning. I have found these really do improve the manageability and condition of my hair but take a long time to get used to as don't feel like they are "cleansing" as well.

This duo from Organix in my experience falls into the second group.

Those which feel more like your standard supermarket shampoo and strip the hair of oil build up and cleanse the hair well and are then followed by a conditioner.

I have enjoyed using the Organix Duo and it is a set I will probably repurchase. I find the Shampoo does cleanse my hair well without stripping it severely (like others I have tried ) but I would always follow up with the conditioner which is lovely and hydrating. This set leaves my hair feeling nice and smooth, shiny and manageable (but doesn't work miracles, although my hair is a tough test for any product)

This set smells amazing also which is great (who doesn't want hair that smells divine!) and it is reasonably priced when compared to other "sulfate free" products.

So If you aren't a fan of the first type of hair care but still want a more hair friendly product, I would definitely recommend this set.

Luxurious Morrocan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner

Absolutely love this shampoo and conditioner. I have had a lot of problems with and itchy scalp and this shampoo and conditioner has given me such relief. The added bonus is beautiful soft easy to control hair. I have started to go grey and this shampoo and conditioner has really calmed down the frizzyness I have had. Excellent value for money. Very happy with the results. It's great it's available at the supermarket.

Tips: Use sparingly, you don't need a lot.

Morrocan argan

This stuff is like silk. So nice to wear when treating hair. I use this every second day then use Pantene moisture renewal every other. Love it. So weightless and cuts down on split ends. A bit costly but is worth the price

Tips: No tips

Hmmmm worth the $???

I tried the conditioner of this line, in the hopes it would tame my fly aways and replenish my dry ends..i would say it probably did help the fly aways a little bit, but did nothing for my ends, in fact i felt like they actually got a bit dryer?! I got it from a chemist so it cost me $19.99, and i felt quite dissapointed that it didnt really do what i had hoped. I wouldnt buy it again

Not so conditioning

I'm in two minds about this product (particularly the conditioner). The shampoo was ok, it smelt really nice but it didnt lather up really well (which I like my shampoos to do) so I found you have to use quite a bit to get it all through your hair. It left my hair feeling quite stripped which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just means you need a really conditioning conditioner to follow up afterwards. The conditioner was lacking in this. It was soft and silky and smelt really nice but you had to put on a tremendous amount to leave your hair feeling properly conditioned after the stripping shampoo. Even still, my hair didn't have that lovely conditioned feel where you can run your fingers through and they just slide through the silk. After blow drying and straightening my hair (which I do on a daily basis) I did notice my hair was nice and soft and there weren't so many fly aways as there usually are. I'm not sure how much it strengthened my hair as I have many split ends which haven't appeared to look any better.

Tips: Be prepared to use a very generous amount

Soft hair duo.

I have shoulder length hair that can get oily very quickly. I was looking for a sulphate free shampoo and conditioner when I stumbled across this duo. I had to think about the fact that buying the duo at $19 a piece was a lot of money wasted if it didn't deliver what it claimed. Anyway the sulphate free claim won me over. To be honest, I didn't really see any difference to my hair as opposed to what I was already using. My hair did feel and smell nice but that's about all. I did feel better for the fact that my hair colour would not be stripped and that no sulphate or parabens were plaguing my hair and scalp. I probably wouldn't use this particular duo of the OrganiX again but I will definitely move on and try one of their other ones in the range.

Tips: 385ml is a generous amount and would have lasted a lot longer if my daughter hadn't taken the liberty of helping herself to it.

Did not like this stuff...

I don't like to be all negative, but I really, really, disliked this stuff.

After hearing all the hype about Moroccan Oil, I figured a relatively expensive range of Shampoo and Conditioner by the same name would be just as good. Sorry, no...

This duo left my hair straw-like dry and knotty. I could tell by the feel of it as I was using it in the shower that it was no good for my hair.

The shampoo on it's own is drying and doesn't lather much, but I thought at least the conditioner would come along and save the day. Sadly, it didn't. I felt that no matter how much I slathered on, it just didn't make any difference. It seemed to just absorb and disappear, leaving my hair dry, dry, dry.

I was really disappointed after spending so much money on hair care. I would not repurchase this again, or recommend to anyone I know.

You've let me down...

I purchased this duo for wayyy more than the price it says above. I think I paid 30 each for them. So I was expecting a really good, top dollar, top quality treatment for my hair. I was in for a big shock and so disappointed.

It has a weird smell, which I have a love/hate relationship with. It smells like a brand new car with its leather seats and everything, which is kinda gross, but also weirdly nice.

It’s texture is also thick and creamy, and comes in a cream colour.

When you use it in the shower, it’s nice and silky, but once dry it’s horrible. There is no conditioning to the hair, in fact it’s quite the opposite. My hair felt dryer than ever.

It’s also really hard to wash out. I spend a good 5-10 minutes trying to get all that shampoo and conditioner out my hair. The conditioner is really thick, and hard to spread. As soon as it goes on the hair, it seems to disappear. It absorbs into the patch you put it into and you need to reach for more to put on.

The duo is also really heavy for my hair, and leaves it flat and really greasy, in need of a wash the next day - two if I can get away with it.

My hair also feels really frizzy, and I need to reach for a curling wand, or iron to make a style out of it.

I am really disappointed, I really love the organix range.

Perfect For My Dry Damaged Hair

I have dry damaged hair due to foiling my hair every 6 weeks. My hair probably is due for a cut but love long hair, so I prefer finding products that hydrate and make it look healthy. Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan oil shampoo and conditioner works wonders on my hair making it feel hydrated. I would have given it top marks apart from the fact that I'm always on look out for bargains and would say this is just a little but pricey for a supermarket product.

Tips: I leave the conditioner on for about 5-10 minutes before rinsing off. It leaves my hair healthy and silky.
