Olay Luminous Niacinamide + Vitamin C Super Serum

This serum comes in a gorgeous silver and turquoise box. The bottle is a lovely pearly glass with a silver top. It looks luxury! It has a pretty auto glass dropper which is easy to dispense the right amount of serum onto your face. It has a fresh botanical scent which absorbs into your skin really quickly and feels light. I really like this product it definitely made my face look fresh and brighter and made it look more glowy from the first use. I didn’t notice a difference in my dark sun spots but I think 2 weeks isn’t enough time to see a difference in this kind of skin concern. I have super sensitive skin and found this product didn’t irritate at all. I love how it doesn’t contain nasties like parabens, mineral oils, petroleum etc. Definitely would use this again!

I like everything about the packaging - top marks Olay. The box has lots of information on it and the bottle itself is sleek and clean, a quality addition to the vanity.

My googling of price buts this anywhere between $40 and $60; a pretty reasonable price band for a serum of this quality.

My skin is slightly oily in areas with a tendency to look dull over winter - this serum has pretty much righted the imbalances within 2 weeks! The niacinamide has definitely corrected the oily zones and yeap, my skin definitely looks brighter, more dewy.

The general skin texture feels vastly improved.

I do not like fragranced facial products so the scent is a bit of a bugbear for me, but I've powered on through and am glad I did because the results have been so good.

First off can we just have a little 'oooooo' about the fancy dropper bottle?! It sort of sucks up the product into the dropper as you open the cap, then decants the perfect amount at the push of a button. Altogether now....fancyyyyyy!

I knew I was going to love this product when I first saw the box. You know when you just know? The shimmering box in a teal to silver ombre scream classy mermaid, and the bottle itself is strong, feels weighty and again shimmers opalescent.

The serum itself is runny and white coloured, it spreads easily and the amount dispensed by the dropper is more than adequate for facial coverage.

It's one of those products you feel instantly working - you know how a good conditioner instantly smooths hair? This is like that, your skin just feels instantly better; it absorbs almost instantly and feels so smooth to the touch.

This has upped the ante for my base products too - moisturiser and foundation just seem to apply better after use.

Twice a day usage has definitely given my sallow winter skin a luminous boost - and my t-zone feels less oily. It's a winner!

I have been using this serum for more than a week now and I love it. I have a dull, uneven skin tone and was looking for a serum that does the job.

The serum comes in a pearly white colour bottle. The twist cap with the pump is very innovative and makes it easy to use the product. I use the serum in the morning and at night. I use about 2 pumps worth of product and massage it around my face and neck. I love the light fragrance and the light smooth texture. It has a nice fragrance. It is easy to apply and absorbs quickly. I noticed my skin is brighter and glowy. I find the longer I use this the more even my skin tone becomes. I don’t look so tired. I use it at night before facial oil and they work together nicely.

I would definitely buy this product again and try other products in the Olay range.

This is a beautiful liquid is a thin, light consistency. It’s a wonderful pearly opaque colour that looks quite luxurious. It has a dropper type applicator in the lid of the bottle that doesn’t pop up until you untwist it. I personally really like this it’s easy to use the amount you want with out wastage, but can’t be pressed until you are opening to use. It has a slight fresh fragrance that I really like and it’s gone before you finish applying it to your face. It says to use 2 pumps twice a day but I only needed one which would be less than 1ml (I think) to cover my face nice and evenly. It absorbed into my face really quickly and I was presently surprised that it didn’t add too much more time to the face care routines. With only needing such a little Amount this product would last me a good 4-5 weeks I think and with a price of around $55-$65 on different retailers I don’t think it’s too bad for what your getting. Its comes in a 30ml glass bottle it’s has a silver lid with the dropper that’s easy to use and open, the bottle is a sparkly iridescent that is quite eye catching when it’s in the right lights. It has all the information about us wage clearly printed in a nice size txt on the back.

My skin just looks more fresh and less dull since adding this to my routine. I just can see my skin glowing thought out the day, my dark spot also seem less noticeable and have started to fade with more time I’m sure they will fade more.

I would 100% recommend this to anyone who feels there skin looks dull and flat I’ve had a couple of people say how my skin looks so nice and like I’m glowing! It’s a great inexpensive way to shake up your skin care routine and give your skin a bit more life! I love everything about this product it’s going to be permeant in my routine from now on.

Not going to lie… figuring out the bottle took me a lot longer than I would like to admit. I definitely prefer pump bottles for serums and face products, rather than a separate dropper that you try and screw back on when your hands are slippery with serum

The serum itself didn’t really smell of anything. It did leave my face feeling quite sticky, until I put moisturiser on. Wasn’t a fan of that tacky skin feeling

As with anything skincare that has vitamin c, it is not recommended for oily skin as it encourages the skin to produce more oil. As I have combination skin, I used this serum only on the dry parts of my face.

I didn’t notice a change in my acne scarring, or general skin condition while trialling this serum. That could be related to face mask use though, so I will keep trying and see if it changes my mind

I was very excited to try this product since it contained both niacinamide and vitamin C - two ingredients that seem to be everywhere right now due to providing real results. I have used a product with niacinamide before with great results, so I felt like trying a product with niacinamide plus the addition of vitamin C would be perfect.

The look of the packaging was pretty standard. I like that the box stated what the serum is formulated 'with' and 'without', alongside a full ingredients list. It also stated at which step in your routine the product should be used, which I always appreciate.

The bottle is pretty and pearlescent. However, that auto-dropper really got me! I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I had to use Google to figure out how to open the product initially (even though instructions are included). Once it's open though, it's easy to dispense the product each time - you just twist the lid, click it down and then open it.

The formula was not quite what I was expecting from a serum - it was milky and quite runny. There is a fragrance but it is pretty neutral.

I think the formula contributed to my dislike of the product. Yes, it was a lightweight texture as claimed, but I think it was actually too lightweight. It felt like I was just applying a moisturiser and often I felt like the two pumps it recommended (and the amount that could be held in the dropper) just wasn't enough.

I didn't see any changes to my skin, despite using it twice a day as recommended. While it claims to brighten and provide a radiant glow, I didnt feel bright or glowy either immediately after applying, or after 2 weeks of use. Unfortunately there was also no change to the dark spots that have developed on my skin over the last few months. Overall I felt underwhelmed and realised that the products I'd cut out of my routine to trial this one had been doing a much better job.

I have used an Olay moisturiser before and loved it, so I am disappointed by this serum. I will continue to use this in the hopes that I see some results. I would love it to have some effect on my dark spots, and maybe that just takes more time. I would however not re-purchase, as I think there are much better products out there at the same price point.

Its name is a bit of a mouthful - Olay Luminous Niacinamide + Vitamin C Super Serum but it is definitely worth attempting to pronounce niacinamide once you have tried using it.

The lid is well designed in that the pump pops after you turn the lid to open it. This is handy if you need to keep it in your handbag/toiletry bag.

The directions advise to use 2 pumps twice a day after you have cleansed and toned, and then put your moisturiser on after the Olay serum. I pumped it directly onto my fingers and it’s quite runny, so I did my two pumps separately.

The serum itself has a lovely , almost citrusy, fragrance and it feels extremely light after you rub it into your skin. It’s not greasy at all and absorbs into your skin instantly. My skin felt smooth and soft straight after using it. I could quite happily have used it more often than the recommended twice daily (but I didn’t).

I definitely noticed a softer feel and look to my skin after using it and I think it does give it an extra natural glow. My skin has a couple of patches of hyperpigmentation and quite an uneven tone but I felt the super serum helped minimise the overall look and tone.

Overall I think this is a fantastic product and definitely worth giving it a try if you want to reduce uneven skin tone and to give your skin a lovely summer glow. It’s even on sale this week at both Farmers and Countdown for $35 (it usually costs around $60).

First up, I love the bottle and the way the applicator works! The clever locking system means no accidental spills or unnecessary oxidisation of the serum. I can see myself repurposing the empty jar for art purposes. The serum is pleasant smelling and feels lovely on my skin. I barely needed to put moisturiser over the top. My skin is sensitive but hasn’t reacted at all to the Vit C which is a plus. Within a few days of using Olay Luminous Vitamin C Serum some mild peeling of dry skin appeared but has since settled down leaving my skin looking more even toned and brighter. A friend who hasn’t seen me for a couple of weeks commented on how great my skin is looking last night, it can only be due to the Olay, so I’m looking forward to seeing the difference after a month of use! What’s extra great is that there’s no sulphates, parabens, phthalates, petrolatum nor mineral oils. If you’re looking for a Vit C Serum that delivers without feeling harsh, I definitely say to give this one a try.

Olay super serum has surprised me. The product comes in a easy to use bottle with a dropper for application. I do like the applicator as it minimisers contamination and gives good control on how much product to dispense. I do have dry and sensitive skin and found that this Olay serum did work pretty well in keeping my skin hydrated and giving me a smooth finish. The serum is easy to apply and is of cream like texture rather than serum/oil feel like other vitamin c serums that I have used. Absorbs easily and does not leave any greasy residue. It leaves the skin feeling smooth. I used the product only in the mornings and found that it did not interfere with my makeup. As for removing sun spots I might need to use it for a little bit longer as I feel it’s hard to see any major difference within 2 weeks. The only downside for me I would say was that I found it to be highly fragrant. Although not unpleasant but personally I would have preferred it a lot more if it wasn’t so fragrant. Overall a good product for the size and price range. Would recommend for people trying to achieve a brighter and smoother looking skin.
