Olay Miracle boost and sculpt duo

These two products are part of a set of 4 but can be used individually as well. Both products are packaged very elegantly in gorgeous red containers. The serum has a neat pump in the lid to draw the product up and ensures you get just the right amount each time. The cream is in a regular pot, nothing is supplied to scoop it out so you'd need to have your own if you didn't like using fingers.

Both products work well together and are easy to apply. The serum is so light that adding the cream on top does not feel like you have too much product and still absorbs well. For a person who is used to this sort of regimen these products would be great, they did make my skin brighter and so smooth but I feel it was too short a time to tell if they will reduce wrinkles, repair and slow ageing affects as stated on the box. My skin is quite sensitive and not keen on a lot of product too often, I found using both twice a day a bit much. While I had no reaction which was great I felt if I kept going using both twice a day I was going to have a huge break out. So I cut down to just morning and washed it off at night. So while my face still benefited from using it this may be why I didn't see the full effect.

Tips: Only use a tiny bit of cream, it goes a long way

Miracle Boost and Micro Sculpt Duo

I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial these products. I am 38, with dry skin, and fine lines on my forehead. I have been using these for approximately 3 weeks: once a day at night-time.

The packaging and design of the products is eye-catching and clever. They come in red and silver boxes with pictures of the product on the front. The bottle is 40ml, and the jar is 50g. The Micro Sculpt has an innovative pump design to gather the serum into the stopper. It is pretty easy to use and makes using the dropper applicator simple. You can cover your face with 1 - 2 drops.

The jar for the Miracle Boost is red, while the lid is a chromatic silver. The circular lid has an oval indentation on the top, which is slightly off centre and which gives it a modernist, slightly sci-fi quality. It would look very cool sitting in your bathroom.

I have not noticed a huge difference, after three weeks of using these, to my skin. I only used them in the evening as I did not want to use heavy skincare in the daytime. So it is hard to tell if my skin is better for using this, but it is definitely not worse.

One thing I have a problem with is the smell of the Miracle Boost cream. It smells like a chlorinated swimming pool, and I have had trouble getting past that. Every time I go to apply it I am overcome by the scent. It is an unusual choice of scent for skincare, and it is very strong. Perhaps they were going for an ocean scent, but I can't help but notice it every time I apply it.

Although you are meant to layer these products, I do not think you have to use them together to get the full effect of the products. I think you can mix and match them as much as you like. I think if you are looking for a serum along the lines of international brands that you can buy locally, then Micro Sculpt is worth a go. I think Miracle Boost cream is a good night cream, but I do not think it is noticeably better than other night creams that can be bought locally.

The Ultimate Power Couple

One of the techniques to get great looking skin is to layer different skincare products. This technique has been around for decades with the cleanse tone moisturise mantra. It has since exploded to 5 or so steps for your typical everyday beauty fan, to the extreme of 14 plus steps of the ultimate K-Beauty consumer. This duo is a great way to start building steps into a beauty routine. I loved having 2 matching products sitting on my bathroom vanity. The 2 products worked really well together. The Pre Essence has a really light texture that felt like it was being immediately absorbed. It seemed to help the application and absorption of the sculpting cream. It left my skin smooth and make up ready. After a week of use twice a day I swear that my skin looks firmer and the texture is more refined.

Olay Miracle Boost and Micro Sculpt Duo Review

As a duo, these products worked really well together. I have done separate reviews for each product. They did give me a little skin irritation to start with but I couldnt tell you which products did that, but pretty sure it was the moisteriser as the perfume was quite high.

I really enjoyed using both these products and although my fine lines and wrinkles are still there (boo hoo) I did like how they both hydrated and evened out my skin tone as well as giving it a bit of a brightening boost, nice!

As far as packaging, I had trouble getting into both products. To start with not being able to figure out how to get lids off was a bit of a hassle and with one, nearly made me give up but once I'd had that aha moment it was all good, lol.

Very happy with these two products, they will last a long time if you dont use too much so I think the price is reasonable, although, I would probably wait till Farmers had a sale before re-purchasing these.

Tips: No need to use too much of this product, a little goes a long way.

Easy but pampering morning routine

I received this product in a beauty box, and we'll timed it was to as my other moisturiser was just running out.

This is a simple 2 part system where you apply the serum first followed by the creme morning and night to help fight the early signs of ageing.

I love the ease at which the serum disappears into the skin without leaving a film. Then the moisturiser is lovely and thick but melts easily into the skin. It has a lovely floral fragrance. I have found my skin feels softer and smoother and there may have even been a slight reduction in the fine lines around my eyes.

Overall I am loving using this product and have been using it exclusively for the last 3 weeks and both serum and moisterisir are no more than a third used so the product lasts we'll.

Tips: The instructions suggested using 2 pumps of the serum but for me i found one was easily enough.

Eyelids on fire

I have used firstly Oil of Ulan moisturising cream, then Olay creams through various iterations since I was 14 some 43 years later. Regenerist duo has resulted in itchy and stingy eyelids and I have now backed away from Olay altogether. My eyes are slowly but surely coming right. I'm not sure if I will go back to Olay, whatever they have been doing to their formulas does not appear to agree with me!
