Olay Niacinamide + AHA Moisturiser

First off, I really dislike like the Olay jars! Not only because a jar is unhygienic and exposes the cream to oxygen every time you open it and stick your fingers in, but also because these ones have that super-irritating plastic inner lid that seems to vacuum-stick itself on, with only an impossibly tiny handle to help you pry it off. I don’t want to chuck it out, because it’s making the jar more airtight, but it’s a real pain. And the main lid, while pretty, is slippery to get back on when you’ve got creamy fingers.

Right, that’s my little rant about the packaging. The cream itself? Dreamy. The scent is light, faintly fruity but warm, and doesn’t linger long. A pleasurable sensory experience first thing in the morning. The texture is robust but feels quite liquid as you’re applying it, so it glides on beautifully and feels hydrating and soothing on contact. It does absorb, but not completely, which in this case I really like. I hate any sort of sticky, greasy, oily feel on my skin, but this just leaves a comfortable, softly dewy finish. Beautiful. Also, my skin can be sensitive, and I was interested to see how I did with using AHAs for the first time, but there wasn’t the slightest hint of stinging or reactivity. Just pure comfort.

In terms of longer-term benefits... I’ve been using the cream (along with the matching serum) morning and night religiously for six weeks, and my hyperpigmentation hasn’t faded, so I've had to give the cream 4/5 for 'does what it says'. BUT I’ve loved all the other benefits. My skin is dry and ageing, but it’s felt comforted, moisturised, plumped and, yes, dewy. And that lasts all day long. My skin looks and feels as good at the end of the day as it did when I first applied the cream in the morning.

I wish it came in different packaging, but for dry skin that’s a bit dull and lined and even sensitive, this cream is divine and I’d highly recommend trying it.

The style of this packaging is quite common I think, a tub. The silver lid looked sleek, and it was easy to open and get out product. While some other packaging my be cleaner or easier to use, I like how you can get every last drop of product with this style of packaging.

The consistency was almost a gel like moisturizer and I was impressed with how moisturizing it was.

The gel has a shimmer to it, and after applying the matching serum and then this product, I definitely feel like I look glowy.

My face isn’t shiny and it is lovely as is, but I was most impressed with my skin under make up. After a month of use I had friends asking me if I had a new foundation and that it looked great. I was really stoked with this because the skincare was the only thing I had changed in my routine.

I think my skin tone has improved, I still have freckles and all the normal stuff I had before, but I feel like the tone of my skin has just evened out behind all of this.

I feel like you get a lot of product for the price. I felt like I didn’t need to use a tonne of product, and it spread out really well. I’ve used it for six weeks straight and feel like I’ve barely made a dent in the tub.

I’ve been really pleasantly surprised with this product. I wouldn’t have brought this product or brand normally and I have really enjoyed it. It’s a great product, sits nicely on the skin and I would buy it again. I have loved the combo of this product and the serum, it’s really great.

I love trying new products so I was excited when this arrived. While the scent and consistency of this moisturiser was nice I found it really didn't do much for my skin. I didn't notice much difference at all after 4 weeks and feel some of the other Olay products are definitely a better buy. My skin did feel nice after applying just doesn't look too much different after 4 weeks.

This is a delight to put on, there is a nice scent, not over powering, but with a hint of something. The jar looks flash, and when putting the moisturiser on, you don't need to use a lot. It makes my face feel soft and light. It is a joy to put on.

This moisturizer was a pleasant surprise! While I don't feel that my skin is overly plump or moisture rich, my skin does feel very smooth and I can notice the improvement in evening my skin tone.

In terms of the packaging, it comes in a screw top jar, which isn't my preference in terms of convenience and hygiene. The smell isn't overly strong, and is almost botanical-like but with a clean smell too. It's on the thicker side in texture, but I found it melts nicely into the skin - so can be used morning or night comfortably. I have some faded redness on my cheeks in particular from old blemishes that hadn't seemed to improve, despite not experiencing blemishes as often. I noticed this area has improved, and my skin tone is becoming more even, as well as the texture feeling super smooth. I will continue to use it and see how much improvement I can get.

The only downside is, I don't think it helps with drier skin, so I would still want to supplement with something purely to add moisture to my skin.

The market is flooded with new creams making promises but I feel this moisteriser really delivers I was pleasantly surprised. This is very light weight and non greasy cream which left my skin feeling brighter due to the vitamin C ingredient. It works well with other brands also.

I really love this product! I definitely have noticed a difference in my breakouts. Any small spots dried up and resolved almost overnight. It is important to note that it is a scented product, personally, I love the scent and it hasn't irritated my skin. The texture is nice, goes on really smooth, and absorbs into the skin quickly. I also love that it doesn't pill when I layer my sunscreen on top. Overall, this moisturiser was very impressive for its affordable price.

This moisturiser feels thick and creamy without being a heavy thick and creamy mixture. It has a lovely smooth consistency and is easily spread and absorbed into your skin with no greasiness afterwards. A perfect base for my makeup to go on. A fingertip amount of the moisturiser was plenty to cover my face and neck. The moisturiser has a slight fragrance which is hardly noticeable even with the serum underneath. I can’t wear products with a heavy fragrance so this was a big plus for me. Used in conjunction with the AHA Serum twice a day, within a week I had noticed a marked improvement in my skin condition, appearance and texture. You also definitely use a lot less moisturiser with having the serum on your skin first, with is a definite bonus. After four weeks of using this product twice a day my skin is almost glowing, my rosacea has markedly reduced and my skin feels AMAZING. This product now on my Must Have list and I will be definitely purchasing it once my trial jar runs out. This product has gone a long way and I’m still not at the bottom of the jar despite using it twice a day. I can’t recommend this product and the AHA Serum combination highly enough.

From the moment I recieved this product to trial I felt it was something special. The packaging is gorgeous and very upmarket looking definitely not the Olay of old. Luckily the performance and product matched its appearance. The cream is so nice to apply and does not feel heavy on my skin. The scent is absolutely amazing, not something I have ever had as a necessity when buying products, but totally made it feel a lot more indulgent. In the 6 weeks that I have been using this moisturiser I have notice a significant improvement in my skins clarity and a reduction in fine lines. My dark undereye circles have lightened and a pigmentation patch decreased. I will definitely continue buying this product especially as the proce point is not too bad. The only downside I found was that I ran out before the 6 weeks were up, I don't know whether this was me being a bit too generous with my application but it didn't last as long as I thought it would.
