I have been really enjoying this serum alongside the moisturiser from Olay. The texture is great - not too thin, but not too thick or sticky either, and the two products work well together without any pilling. I have noticed that my skin has had a less uneven texture, though I haven't been using this one long enough to notice a reduction in hyper-pigmentation just yet! I'm looking forward to continuing to use the serum/moisturiser combo over the longer term to see if the results compound!

Reviews
I have been using this serum for about 6 weeks and love it. My skin has a nice healthy glow and I do feel it has helped with some old acne scaring, its looks more faded and less obvious. I do have hyperpigmentation from pregnancy too but at this stage it's too early to tell if it's helping fade that pigment or not. I will definitely keep using the serum to hopefully see results fading that a wee bit too . Firstly the soft silky texture of the serum is amazing. It rubs in so nicely and absorbs well into my skin leaving a nice bright looking glow. After applying, my skin feels super hydrated and soft. I love the packaging sleek and easy to use. The eye dropper applicator is great as it dispenses the perfect amount of product so you don't overuse and waste it. Works well under makeup. Overall I would repurchase, a nice product and does as it claims which is amazing!! X
The packaging for this product was lovely the pearly white bottle with a nice silver lid has a dropper for easy application it looks quite glam. This serum is a nice consistency it didn’t feel sticky on my face and absorbed in nicely it has a yummy fresh scent. I found it quite strong for my sensitive skin so only used once a day in the evening instead of twice. Overall a lovely product which gave my skin a nice glow.
Tips: Use a small amount on the back of your hands as well as your face
The bottle’s certainly the prettiest of the Olay serum range, all pearly white, and has the clever lid that fills the pipette automatically as you twist it off. Aesthetically pleasing as well as practical and hygienic.
The serum itself smells lovely – faintly fruity but with a warm base – but isn’t overpowering and doesn’t linger long. The texture is a very light, slightly gel-water consistency that spreads easily and absorbs quickly but doesn’t disappear into nothing – which I like, because it leaves my skin feeling moisturised and comfortable but without any stickiness. And it acts as a perfect primer, with following layers going on silky smooth. Also, my skin can be sensitive, and I was interested to see how I did with using AHAs for the first time, but there wasn’t the slightest hint of stinging or reactivity. Just pure comfort.
In terms of longer-term benefits... I used the serum (along with the matching cream) morning and night religiously for six weeks, and it didn’t seem to lighten my hyperpigmentation (I actually took photos before and after to be as ‘scientific’ as possible!), which is why I've had to give it 4/5 for 'doing what it said it would'. And I don't have acne marks, so can't speak to that. But it has definitely impacted the look and feel of my skin for the better. My skin's dry and ageing, but this has left it hydrated, super-soft and fresh-looking, and I’ve loved it.
I use three good drops to cover my face and neck, which is nowhere near a full pipette, so it seems pretty economical.
Tips: Don't forget the eyes! This serum works brilliantly around the eye area, with no irritation or heaviness at all.
This was sent to me to trial as part of a trial team along with the moisturizer form the same range. These were lovely to use together and I loved how easily it was absorbed into my skin it was nice and light and my skin loves it. Will definitely ve getting more of this when the serum is gone. Lasts a good while too so good value for money.
Tips: Use with the moisturizer to get the full benefits it seemed to be perfect together for my skin anyway.
My initial thoughts when receiving the Olay Niacinamide + AHA serum was that the packaging was beautiful, but possibly looked like it was aimed at a slightly younger audience than myself. It very clearly states what problem areas the product works for. The bottle has a very cool screw top with a pop out button as you open it, which is used to suck up the serum into an eye dropper for use. I usually need to use 1-2 pumps for my face - the box or bottle don't say what the recommended amount to use is, other than to apply evenly to face.
Much like the moisturiser, the serum has a lovely citrus scent, which I personally don't believe is over-powering. However, I do like it when my products have a mild scent. It instantly left my skin feeling very smooth and soft. As serums go, it's a fairly thick one, like if you put a glob on your hand it won't roll/drip off, a little goes a long way and it absorbs very quickly into the skin, leaving a soft smooth feeling afterwards. I've thought for weeks about how to describe this smooth feeling and still can't quite explain it, it's like an invisible layer, which once washed off the feeling is gone, at least initially, as overall my skin felt smoother after using the product, but in a different way.
During the first week, in the first hour or two after application my skin did feel hot and looked a little bit redder. I was using it with the moisturiser as well and tried different combinations of leaving one off, but it did seem to be caused by an active ingredient in both the products. After the hour or so, this subsided and after the first week it seemed that I no longer had any reaction. It's possibly very similar to when people first start using retinol, as now I don't have any reaction at all (other than the great results, which I'll write about below)
I've now been using the product for around a month, maybe longer. I'm really loving the smell of it and my skin is looking so much clearer and smoother. I'm amazed at the results and can barely believe it, as I've been struggling with my skin a lot in the last year and it's finally starting to look less red, bumpy and tired. I really do believe the claims given in the product, as there are some spots I'd tried so hard to get rid of, and now have disappeared. I'm really loving how bright my skin is looking and would definitely use this product again.
Tips: Use 1-2 pumps to cover your face evenly with the product.
I experienced some heat and redness an hour or so after using the product in the first week. It settled down after that. Just ease your skin into using it, due to the active ingredients.
On first glance honestly, I couldn’t even open the bottle! But after a quick google the way it’s designed is awesome! Easy to travel with and hard to spill. The feeling of this product is amazing on the skin, and my skin looks clearer every single day. A little goes a long way!
My most used skincare ingredients are Vitamin C, Niacinamide and AHA. So when I saw a product that combines 3 in 1, I just had to jump on board. Thank you Beauty Review for the opportunity to trial.
Let's first talk about the packaging. This is my second Olay serum and I read reviews before that some people find it hard to use the dropper but honestly, I find it super easy. Plus it's very hygienic and no chance of losing even a drop.
The only con is I can't see how much of the product is left. Overall love the packaging, it's elegant and pretty.
The texture is in between a light moisturizer and a gel, and looks creamy. I find it quite lightweight and absorbs really fast and well too.
It has some fragrance in it which is fine to me but people who prefer unscented products may not appreciate it.
I don't have problematic skin and neither spots so I can't comment on how it removes spots. However, I can say my skin looks much nicer and clearer, with a healthy glow.
It makes my skin looks fresh and bright.
Also I really like the idea of combining 3 ingredients which means you don't have to use a separate serum for each ingredient. Win, win.
Tips: Because Vitamin C usually takes a long time to show results you may not see results from this serum as fast as you'd like too but just keep using it, it definitely improves the skin.
I love the elegant packaging of this product. The twist to open is really high quality and easy to use and i love how the dropper dispenses the perfect amount as it is really easy to use too much serum.
The product is really light and absorbs easily so you don't have to wait around before the rest of your routine. I can tell it is definitely working to reduce scars and discolouration on my face and my skin feels a lot softer and smoother as well.
I really enjoyed this product and will be repurchasing.
Tips: Use sunscreen while using this product as it can make skin more susceptible to burning and sun damage
I've used the Olay "pump" bottles before so I wasn't confused by how it works this time, but for new users, it can be a bit confusing the first time. Simply untwist the cap, pump once then open it fully and pump again to dispense(google can help here). The serum itself is slightly fruity smelling, and is a white, semi opaque serum. Non greasy, and applies beautifully. I have noticed a slight decrease in colour some of the dark spots on my face, but they haven't gone completely. I will keep using though and report back if it changes further. I am really liking all the Olay products I have tried so far.
Tips: Use after cleansing and toning, a mist toner is fabulous and quick for this purpose. One pump was enough for my face and neck.
