I’ve been using this for a fairly short time but am not new to Retinol. It comes in the traditional Olay jar and has a similar texture to the other Olay night creams but is more cream like than gel like. I have been using this over the Olay Hyaluronic acid serum and while they seem to work well together I feel like my skin needs something heavier at night. I would say this would be ideal as a starter retinol as it’s easy to apply and can be used with other (non retinol) serums but if you’re extremely dry or are a seasoned retinol user then this may not be the night cream for you.

Reviews
Tips: Remember to only use this at night as UV rays break retinol down and always use a facial sunscreen so you don’t get burnt. Using retinol makes you more susceptible to sun damage (I learnt this the hard way)
This product had a very lovely smell. It resembles greek or probiotic yogurt. Sound odd but very lovely. The texture was not too thick and I found the first use it sat on the skin a bit but subsequent uses I noticed it was absorbing into the skin nicely. It didnt leave behind any uncomfortable films after the first use and was overall a pleasant experience. I used this products for two weeks straight so I would definitely say that is not enough time for a fully in depth review however I did notice a few changed in my skin. The texture felt slightly more refined and there was a noticeable difference in plumpness especially around the eye are where there was thinner skin. I was unable to notice changes in skin pigmentation however it was only two weeks and who knows what changes there would have been in a 3 month period. This is not a bad product to use if you cant afford or have access to a clinical grade retinol.
Tips: Use at night only. Keep away from under eyes and nostrils. Less is more :)
This moisturiser, had a nice texture, and no smell. The way it goes on is nice, not greasy or oily, I didn't notice a big difference to my skin over the course of using it, but it was a nice hydrating moisturiser. I will continue to use it, as it didn't give me breakouts which I often have with moisturisers. I like the packaging and the container it comes in. works well with a serum too! Love Olay have used since I was teenager and would definitely buy this again.
I really enjoyed reviewing this product. It's a very pretty container and I really like the colours. It was super hard to open the seal inside. If you don't have any nails it is a bit tricky. The product itself has a pleasant smell and not too thick on your face. I used this only three times because if you use it too much you can get a reaction. The first time it caused my skin to break out a bit but that is to be expected when using a new product. The next time was great and my skin felt softer and glowing. This product isn't for the faint hearted, you have to be prepared to have a proper routine and use sunscreen with it as well. I would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to change up their routine and give something new a try. If kept up this is definitely the product for you. Remember that consistency is key!
Tips: A little of this product goes a long way. Make sure you don't use heaps. Also use sunscreen the next day guys. Super important!
I'm a big fan of Olay. The products are affordable, look good in the bathroom cabinet, do the job, and you can pick them up at the supermarket. What's not to love? So I was thrilled when I was offered the chance to trial Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Moisturiser - thanks BR! If you haven't tried retinol before, you may be a little wary - there are a few horror stories out there! Even if you're a retinol pro you still have to be careful - you never know exactly how your skin is going to react to a particular formulation, or how much active ingredient is in the product. With this in mind, I went slowly, applying a thin layer after my nighttime cleansing and toning routine, and switching out to my usual moisturiser for the next couple of nights before going back to the Olay again. After about a week I was using it every second night, and on the third week, every night without any problems at all. I wouldn't say I'm now waking up every morning looking like a supermodel, but then again, I'm not looking like a complete raisin either. Olay Regenerist Retinol keeps my skin supple and hydrated, with the added benefit of a touch of retinol, which is all I really need. Two things I don't love: the pot (not a big fan of sticking my fingers into my product, I like hygienic dispensers), and the ultra-smooth after-feel of the product on my skin. It feels almost like a silicone-based primer - but hey, if you like that kind of thing, you'll love this. On the whole, I really like this product! If you're a fine-line newbie looking for an easy way to start your retinol journey, this product fits the bill.
Tips: As with any retinol product, go slow to let your skin get used to it!
Anyone who's aware of retinol as a skincare ingredient has likely heard that it can take a lot for your skin to build up a tolerance to it. If it's not used with caution it can be harsh, causing dry, cracked skin that can put you off this extremely effective ingredient!
The good news is, Olay's Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Moisturiser gives you all of the best parts of a retinol product, and none of the bad. My skin took to it like a duck to water, no adjustment period needed, and only smooth, clear skin after three weeks' of use.
As well as the lack of irritation for my skin (disclaimer: I have used prescription-strength retinol and my skin definitely has a tolerance- the label still warns of potential mild skin irritation), I also liked that this moisturiser is fragrance-free, absorbs quickly, and is nice and thick. I found it very straightforward to switch out my existing evening product for this one and like the weighty purple jar it's packaged in.
In three week's of consistent use I noticed that my skin didn't break out, it looks a little smoother, and it looks hydrated. What I didn't notice though, was any difference in pigmentation, dark spots, or an obvious reduction in fine lines. Perhaps with continued use these might become apparent?
The one thing I'd change about the product as a whole is the lid under the jar top which keeps quite a tight seal on the moisturiser and can be challenging to remove. Just one of those little things that stops you completely loving something! Or it might just be me...
I would heartily recommend this product to someone in their 20's and upwards who's keen to experiment with retinols. But be patient, results can take awhile to show up!
Tips: If you know that your skin doesn't agree with silicones, I'd probably avoid this one- dimethicone is listed in the first few ingredients.
I have really enjoyed using the Olay Retinol Moisturiser over the last 2 weeks. The cream has a nice consistency and feels really nice on your skin. it soaks in and leaves you skin feeling really soft. I think the trial is a bit to short to say if it helps with fine lines. Due to the nature of the cream having Retinol in it and having to use only a couple of times per week initially i have not seen a change in wrinkles. But my skin is feeling softer and smoother and i have not had any breakouts using this cream and i have with others. The packaging is good, i like it when a face cream comes in a tub because nothing is wasted. Will keep using a hope to see some changes in fine lines!
I have been using L'Oreal's other products in this range and really liked them in the past, so I was very excited to be trialing this product! As soon as you put this on your skin feels very smooth and soft, and you don't need a lot for it to cover the whole face. The consistency makes it non-greasy and spreads very easily with no streaks, it feels quite moisturising and I don't think I have used it enough to make a full review yet. However, as far as I have used it, it seems to be a nice texture on the skin, fragrance free, just have to be careful not to use it every night as I tried it and after a week my cheeks started flaking, as the instruction said it would if I used it continuously, it was my error that I didn't read that line properly, as soon as I stopped for 2 days my skin was fine.
Tips: Definitely not ideal for use every night, and always wear sun protection the next day (however we should wear sun protection every single day with or without this product) with the price tag it feels like a splurge for the skin.
I really like this moisturiser - it’s got really nice slip, a great fragrance and sinks in really well. I don’t think the trial period was long enough to see really good results yet, but I do think regardless, it’s a really nice moisturiser.
Tips: Layers! I usually add a layer on a wet face right after I wash my face, then a second layer immediately before I got to bed.
I was so thankful to be invited to trial this product as I have had my eye on retinol products for a while now. At first, I own't lie, I was super nervous as its such a powerful ingredient and the instructiuons sent from BR before the product arrived had me on edge! Having said that, I was slightly surprised there were not more detailed instructions on the box - I can only assume because this is sold in supermarkets, the active ingredient is not hugely powerful.
The box is much bigger than the jar requires which is slightly misleading, even though the jar is 'normal' sized. The product itself smells good (there is no fragrance which can sometimes make the product smell quite chemical) and its just a lovely, riuch textured cream. I followed instructions to use once a week at first, and I had no reactyions so gradually increased my usage. Other than feeling very moisturised, I didn't notice a huge difference in my skin. Perhaps this will chnage the longer and more frequently I use it. I would possibly purchase this again as it made my skin nice and soft and was rich enough to hydrate my skin all night.
As this is gentle enough to use every night, it is probably a great first step to using retinol, as some of the 'clinical' brands are quite harsh.
Tips: Do a patch test and make sure to wash off well in the morning and use an SPF and avoid the sun the next day.
