I always feel so awkward with bright shiny nail polish colours and using this to matte-fy my colours has meant that I can use any bright colours comfortably. It's so quick and easy to use.

Tips: Make sure the underlying colour is completely dry, and if some does manage to bleed onto the brush use a piece of tissue or paper to wipe the brush clean.
I love the concept of a matte-look nail polish, but I had my concerns about this top coat. I was so frustrated by the matte collection OPI created a few years back, so I was pleased to see positive reviews of the top coat on BR.
After purchasing the product and giving it a few good tries I am in agreement with most reviewers- this product is great!
Selecting a polish to wear underneath can be a bit hit-and-miss. I have found it is not likely to suit every colour in the collection, but much of this will be personal preference.
Tips: Careful application is needed for this polish; streaks are harder to get rid of.
I'd been wanting to try this for such a long time! I gave a different twist to 'French' nails and swiped a coat of it on the tip of my nails and left the rest glossy. Works like a charm and dries super fast. Definitely a good thing to have if you wanted to mix it up with your manicures :)
it works beautifully, though i often use it because personally when i matted all my nails it look a bit silly.
Tips: nice clean strokes and be generous
This has jazzed up all my old nail paints. It’s their life saver. I can proudly flaunt the nail paints that I didn’t like before. It changes them totally. It’s like doubling your whole polish collection with just this baby. I love matte nails and this is best that I could get. It mattifies nails, stays on for a decent time and is super easy to take off as well. I think everyone should have this in their collection. It makes things a lot more interesting. More combinations to play with= more fun!
Does it's job in mattifying perfectly but does not function well as a top coat! Also does smear designs so lay it on thick! It chips so easily!
Tips: Put on your normal protective top coat before you use the matte, that way the nail polish is protected and you still have the matte look :)
I've been wanting a matte top coat for so long now, and although I am a big OPI fan, I was considering buying one from another brand because OPI didn't have a matte top coat in their range. So glad I waited though because not long after, OPI released this matte top coat into their range! I managed to get my hands on one of these when I went to a makeup sale, so was super stoked and excited to try it out!
The first time I used the matte top coat, I applied it over a navy colour (OPI "Yoga-ta get this Blue"). I think it looked good over the navy because the navy is a dark colour and so the matte is more obvious over it.
In terms of application, it was really easy to apply. It's like any other top coat that you would normally apply, but after you apply it onto your nail, it starts to turn matte.
I found that the top coat lasted me a few days, which wasn't very long compared to what I expected considering it was an OPI product and that it was a top coat. However, the matte top coat isn't hard to remove (unlike glitter polishes which can be such a pain to remove).
Overall, I was quite pleased with the product as it did add a matte effect to my nail colour like it said it would.
Tips: Don't apply a top coat over this as it will take away the matte effect (therefore defeating the purpose of applying the matte top coat). However, don't forget to still apply a base coat to protect your nails before you apply a coat of your desired nail polish colour, then follow with the matte top coat. I also think that the matte effect looks better and is more visible over deeper and darker colours like black, plum purple, navy, etc.
Personally I am a fan of the mega shiny nails but this matte finish is awesome for nail art.
Its a bit on the slow side to set compared to other OPI top coats so you need to have a bit of patience or you'll end up smudged or with fluff all over it. I love using this as a dot effect with shiny nails or just the odd one of two painted matte.
Its long lasting too, and as I only use it on rare occasions its affordable as if you keep it in a dark place it keeps for a while. I never had any problem from flaking or chipping from this top coat either.
Loved the result.. I must admit that at first I was a little unsure as it looked chalky but over the days I really liked it! Also it seemed to dry quite fast which is always a bonus.
Tips: Make sure the nail polish underneath is a thick enough coat, if its a bit finer in some areas it doesn't look as good :)
I love the effects you can create with this - although a steady hand and quite a bit of free time is required to create some of the looks (check the OPI website for ideas, there are many good ones on there). I prefer a mattified look for work rather than shiny, and this top coat achieves that well and is easy to apply.
Tips: Don't use over anything glittery - it comes out looking a bit odd in my opinion
