OPI Matte Top Coat

Personally I am a fan of the mega shiny nails but this matte finish is awesome for nail art.

Its a bit on the slow side to set compared to other OPI top coats so you need to have a bit of patience or you'll end up smudged or with fluff all over it. I love using this as a dot effect with shiny nails or just the odd one of two painted matte.

Its long lasting too, and as I only use it on rare occasions its affordable as if you keep it in a dark place it keeps for a while. I never had any problem from flaking or chipping from this top coat either.

I bought these the along with some liquid sand polishes because I wanted a super matte look. This works really well and I can do so many nail designs with this. I'm a total nail fanatic and I've always loved OPI polishes. This one adds a subtle classy look and the matte trend is huge right now. The lasting power is pretty good especially if I wear a coat of clear under the matte. This is great especially if you've loads of polishes already and just want to change it up a bit.

i love opi nail polishes so i decided to try this one out to see if it would really turn my nail polish matte and i loved the results. i applied this polish to a black polish and in seconds it turned from glossy to matte. i however noticed that it chipped alot faster than just having normal polish on but they may be because the black i used was a cheap polish and not a opi, so next time i will try this out with a opi polish and see if the results turn out different. if you like matte nails i recommend this product for you as it would be cheaper to buy one polish to do the job instead of buying lots of matte polishes

I liked the look of all the matte manicures on pinterest and couldnt resist giving it a try.

Don't get me wrong its an alright product, i wouldn't buzz about it but i don't think its the worst either. I dont suit the full matte manis, definitely not in a dark purple either but a matte blood red is pretty, and a matte french tip looks great on and was so easy to do.

Definitely not recommended for stay at home mums or women who use their hands a lot. It chipped as easily at it was applied. I do my nails at night once babies asleep and its all fine and dandy but by the end of the next day its chipped and so obvious too.

I guess if you're willing to experiment, try it but don't expect too much.

I loved experimenting with this matte polish after receiving it as a birthday gift in the set with the glitter pigments. I would definitely use it again and love it over the top of a grey, black and navy colour. It was easy enough to apply but it does dry so quickly, if you haven't covered your entire nail then little shiny bits at the side are quite obvious! I'd definitely keep experimenting with this even with polka dots and leopard patterns or stripes.

I was given this to try out and It definitely does what it says it does. I do like it on certain colours but not on others. Would be great for creating different designs. I am not blown away by it but that's only because I prefer shiny nails :p

I bought this in a top coat combo pack, and applied it over black first. I didn't like how if you get something oily (like hair product etc) on them, they sorta just look shiny again. I tried the second time with a green and this came out better so apparently it's just dependant on what you do and the colours you add underneath!

I actually really enjoyed this matte top coat. I got it as a free gift with purchase at famers last year and thought it would be quite interesting to try out. Sometimes you just a bit of a matte top coat in ya life.

It came in the normal little OPI bottle and black lid however if I remember correctly the bottle feels like frosted glass to represent the matte top coat.

It's so simple to use - paint your nails the colour you want then once dry apply the top coat on top and voila you have a matte mani! I really enjoyed using it. It was something a little different. I don't know if I would go as far as recommending it it wasn't a life changing product but it was fun to experiment and I will definitely use it again.

I got this as a free gift with purchase and found it didn't work that great for me. It looked awesome after the first application but after a few days the matte started to 'wear' off any my nails appeared a bit patchy. Parts of them were matte and other bits where the matte top coat had worn off looked quite gross.

I handle cash at work so found that probably contributed to the top coat wearing off. My nails scraping against the little compartments of the till drawers didn't help the longevity of the polish.

Anyone who knows me will know how much of a huge OPI fan I am. When they bought out the Matte top coat I felt like I had just doubled my collection.

This matte top coat works really well. Goes on easily just like any other top coat and as it dries, goes matte. It actually dries quite fast too.

You really have to make sure you colour is layered up well, if you can see any part of natural nail through this it will enhance it and look like a rushed job.

It can dull down some of the brighter colours as well as it can lighten(grey up) the darks.

This lasts about a week before I see any wear or chipping
