Professional colour? Tick. Amazing number of shades to choose from. But long lasting? Not so much. Even with a solid base and top coat I struggle to stop my OPI polishes chipping after a couple of days. The colours are hard to pass up but the quality just isn't there for me. Given their price you'd want them to last a little longer. Their polishes can also be really hit or miss. Some can be clumpy or streaky or unexpectedly sheer. I think I'll try stick with the minis so that way I can use them up faster and move on.

OPI Nail Lacquer Review
Reviews
Tips: Invest in a good base and top coat, they make a world of difference!
I got this in the New Discoveries BBBE in the shade "You've got that Glas-Glow" which is a light purple/plum shade. Not a colour I particularly like. I've used other OPI nail lacquers, and I find them good. They apply easily, dry quite quickly, and last a week or so before getting too chipped and worn. This one was no exception, except that I really don't like the colour as it doe snot complement my skin tone.
As a lacquer in general it is good though. For $19.19, it is a fair price, and there are some other delicious colours in the range (I love the deep reds).
Definitely worth having a look - the product is good and the range is big enough to find some lovely shades for yourself.
I brought this as part of a Minnie Mouse mini quad pack, and find the colour to be quite sheer/light even after two coats. I do like the added sparkle that it has; its not like a chunky glitter polish.
I'm so in love with short white nails and my cheap polish I had wasn't cutting the mustard so I went out and purchased this one in the weekend and to be honest I was left pretty disappointed. I expect good quality out of brands like OPI and Orly and most of the time I love them but when it comes to pastels they always seem to fall short. The first coat is super streaky and the second coat doesn't always come out streak free. Three coats is just getting too thick and tough to dry without bumping or smudging.
Tips: You might have a hands down way to apply pastels and light colours without streaks and I'd love to hear from you if you can help me out because I'd really like to invest in more colours for the summer. Wait for farmers to have a buy one get one free and stock up so you're not forking out a small fortune for a polish :)
OPI is kind of like THE quintessential nail polish brand, and to be honest I don't understand what all the fuss is about.
In the tiers of nail polish quality, it's hardly up there with getting a professional manicure done, and it's higher than the big name make-up brands polish (I'm looking at you, poor quality Maybelline and L'Oreal nail polishes!), but it's not the best. ORLY performs just as well in my opinion.
What I will give OPI is that they have amazing colours. My favourite is a shimmery pink tone, but even that's no unique.
The stay ability is like other brands - lasts me three days, maybe four or five max if I use a top coat and a base coat. Nothing to rave about. Some formulas apply very well, and some are awful, but this is true for most polishes.
Overall, not the best, but not the worst either.
The colour I love -Pink Friday what an awesome name too but that is where it stopped for me . I found I required 3 coats to cover my nails as the mix is really thin and OPI brushes are dreadful to use once you are used to using Sallt Hansen brush. I was totally disappointed in the polish itself.
at thesmall sad brush as applicator Scratches and chips easily. At $25 price on the high side I tried again with base and top coat to protect and this was slightly better however still needed the 3 coats to look nice. sorry OPI I was disappointed in quality but the colour is awesome.
Tips: definately need top coat to protect as chips easily
I purchased a bottle as I thought it would be better quality than cheaper brands I have previously used. I found it was nice to apply, and I love some of the colours available, but that was about it. The colour stained my nails despite using a base-coat - fortunately the polish was a translucent orange, so stains were yellow, & not too noticeable. The drying time was standard, but the polished chipped really easily. Overall, I thought it was okay, but I've tried better products for half the price, so I'm not likely to purchase again
I absolutely love the colors and shades that OPI comes up with the only problem is the brush isn't of good quality and they dry up and clump more easily then other brands.
Tips: Please Opi improve your brush
I was lucky enough to be one of the few chosen to review this nail polish. So that being said i feel awful giving it a bad review, but we are here to be honest to help your decision on whether this is for you.
When Monkeys Fly is a sheer glitter polish, large gold hex glitters combined with smaller silver hex and circle holo glitters in a clear base. The consistency isn't too thick, nor too thin. That's not where the application goes wrong.
This looks stunning in the bottle but before even opening the bottle i could tell that the large gold hexes have a curve to it. This makes it extremely annoying when applying to the nail as it is very difficult to get a smooth coat.
As with any chunky glitter polishes, you just need a little patience. Have a wee play and push the glitter pieces around till you get the uniformity you desire.
I personally would prefer the gold hexes to be a little bit smaller for ease of application and a little more of a flattering look to smaller nails and a little extra small holo glitter (im a sucker for holo). However that been said it is described as a top coat to be used over a colour base.
Personally if i want this kind of look i would apply my own glitter and hexes over a clear wet top coat, i think this would be less time consuming.
To conclude, this is stunning in the bottle but on the nails it just makes me wonder why they even bothered putting the glitter in the top coat in the first place!
Tips: Have a toothpick or tweezers handy to turn the large hex glitters over so that they hug the nail rather than stick up and make the nail feel all rough and jagged.
I used to absolutely love OPI and rave only about this brand of nail polish but now after trying other brands im not so sure. I think I was more in love with the colour selection and the different collections that were coming out all the time.
I don't like the way these chip off pretty much the next day when applied to the natural nail. That's just annoying and having to redo my nails all the time is not ideal. In saying that though, when these polishes are applied to acrylic nails they seem to last a really long time.
In conclusion, I am not a fan of these when applied to the natural nail and wouldn't recommend them at all but if applied to acrylic nails, go for it, you can't go wrong :)
Tips: Make sure you use a base and top coat when applying to the natural nail but when applying to an acrylic nail just use a top coat for extra shine :)
