If you get this look right, it is amazing and will look stunning in a lot of colour combinations. I would recommend doing a base coat and then a base colour and waiting a long time to apply the shatter. I love using my black shatter on any colour nails and my white shatter on pastel colour nails. I'm not so fussed on the brighter colours. I love OPI nail polish and this one was a great idea.

Tips: Make sure you shake the bottle REALLY well. Apply to a very dry base coat and get a decent amount on the brush so you only have to sweep 2 to 3 times to cover the nail. If you put it on top of itself it will not work!
I have most of the colours this came in (I won my first 2 through zm and became a little obsessed at the time) and the different colours were a bit temperamental, some colours worked perfectly, whereas others I had to be a bit more careful applying or it was too thin/not the best effect. Overall I did love these.
Tips: Make sure you are prepared - you need to work quickly to get it looking good
I loved the look of the shatter affect, I only bought the black one because it looked great with a bright colour underneath. It looks really cute but it can take a bit of practice before you get it right, it dries super quick so if you don't get it right with the first stroke you can't go back and correct it unless you take off all the nail polish and start again. And it can be really iffy trying to get that perfect balance of not too thick and not too thin so you get a good shatter, but when you get there it's totally worth it.
Tips: Practice makes perfect, it might take a few goes before you really get the hang of it
I have tried a various assortment of shatter/crackle nail polishes over the years but the OPI ones are the ones that I keep going back to. In fact I now have almost every colour! My fav colour is the gold, it makes almost every colour you out it with look fantastic! The wide brushes mean you only need to do two swipes on each nail, any more and you get it too thick and it does not 'shatter'.
Tips: They do go a bit gloggy in hot weather so keeping them in the fridge is a must.
During the Shatter polish phase I got a couple of cheap two dollar bottles to give it a try. Probably in the last year I saw a couple of bottles on trade me going so I quickly wanted to get them. With OPI being known for their quality I wanted to give this a try.
I have these shatter polishes in both Black and white colours. The bottle is a 15 ml which lasts quite a long time. This nail polish brush is very thick and full. The consistency of this polish is quite thick.
When I apply this polish I like to do a two toned affect underneath with normal nail colour, then go over with this shatter polish. I find it shatters evenly across my nails.
With a top coat this shatter lasted me about 3-4 days. Without a top coat it lasts me about 1-2 days depending on how active I am with my hands. I was lucky to get my nail colour at a bargain on Trade me. I wouldn't buy this for 24.00 dollars. I enjoyed this product. I've gotten so many good comments about it too.
These nail polishes are very trending and stylish looking. They add a nice touch to your polish, makes it look that little bit more detailed than one simple colour. I own a dark purple and black. Although I would quite like to purchase a lighter colour which may suit other colours better than the dark ones I own.
I love these nail polishes and I love the final look when I want a unique look. I have 3 of them but I don't use them regularly because I can't get it right the first time and by the time I put more nail polish on the brush it's already dry. And if I re-apply another layer it becomes lumpy and ugly.
I usually have my artistic friend put it on for me when I want to use it or apply it by myself if I have time to remove and re-do each nail about 3-4 times XD
Tips: Practice your applying skills and only apply once.
first time I used this nail polish I loved it because I thought the effects of it was so cool. It did work for a while but for some reason it stopped working after a while and it became hard to apply and thick.
I loved everything about this nail polish. Great colours, easy to apply. I loved the way it shattered. It did everything it said it would plus more. I loved it. Only thing was that it didn't last long.
I love the black in this shatter. Although during Xmas I do a red shatter over white nails for a candycane effect when you look at them and also the red over green (which looks a bit freddy kruegerish). The black over the white looks like zebra print and is always a standout. The Black over gold gives you an almost leopard print/tiger stripe effect. People always comment on my nails and take a second look at them and shatter lets me play around quickly without going to too much effort
Tips: Make sure your base colour coat is stone cold dry! This will help the shatter effect work. Without doing that... the results can be very very average. For lots and lots of stripes apply thinly. For a chunky shattered effect apply thick. Don't go madly overboard but don't be shy either!
