I love, love, love opi, but the shatter range is not that great. I either end up with a thick layer of polish but a nice shatter design, or a nice amount of polish with hardly any shatter design. This could be a result of not quite knowing the correct way to use it, I have quite a few shatter bottles so I have plenty of time to perfect the shatter look.

if applied correctly it looks great , but you need to get a nice even coat first try or else it looks clumpy and ugly in my option. it is quick drying as you can watch it start drying and cracking (creating the shatter effect) .it looks pretty and cute when applied right, worth the money!
Tips: apply one thick coat
I own the silver colour and I've used it a couple of times and the cracked shatter effect is awesome over the top of a vibrant colour. However, I will add that it didn't last long for before chipping away, maybe 2-4 days after I applied it.
Tips: I would apply a top coat to help prevent chipping as on it's own, it doesn't last very long.
As with all OPI products, this shatter is a long-lasting, colourful, nail polish. You apply it over a colour of choice and as it dries, the polish will shrink and split apart, creating a 'shatter' effect that reveals your nail colour underneath.
The polish itself is quite thick which makes it somewhat difficult to apply compared to regular nail polish. This also makes it prone to drying out, so you have to use up the bottle within a few months or it will dry up and become unusable.
You also must apply the shatter over your entire nail quickly as it dries incredibly fast for the shatter to work, and applying any more than one coat will ruin the effect.
Although I personally don't like the shatter effect enough to use this product again, it is well formulated and exciting, and does exactly what it says it will.
I was thoroughly underwhelmed by this product despite the brands high reputation. When I used the shatter coat on my nails, the texture of the substance was thick and hard to apply. The colour range was good and paired with the undercoat colours quite nicely. Although I personally didn't enjoy the product I believe if you put in enough time and effort it could be developed to be a fantastic product.
Tips: Make sure your undercoat is dry before applying the shatter coat to prevent smudging
I had a couple of these nail polishes, I do like the effect that you can get from these without having to be super amazing at nail art.
They are easy enough to use, simply apply whatever colour of normal nail polish that you like (I did try on bare nails once and it didn't work out!), and then once that is dry apply a thin coat of the shatter polish. You do have to work quickly as it starts to 'shatter' almost straight away and once it has started you can't really add more on or it won't work. Also if you go to thick, it won't really work either- it will just look messy.
Overall, I think these polishes are alright, I don't actually think these ones live up to the opi standards though which is a shame. I find the avon brand shatters are actually a lot easier to use so I wouldn't buy another one of these again.
I love the idea of this product and the way it looks on other people but for me I just hate it and have to remove it straight away.Great OPI formula as always and the fact it comes in lots of different colours is pretty neat.
I had a lot of fun with shatter at first. It was superfun thinking up new colour combos (personal fave gold shatter over deep violet).
Fast forward a year or so later and I have 3 bottles of this stuff I haven't touched since.
I found it quite easy to use although it definitely needs to go over 2 coats of OPI or similar quality other brand. My flatmate could never get it to look right though it was always really uneven and not at all pretty.
Tips: Get this on sale. Don't pay full price for something you'll probably only use a couple of times
I have the Dark Blue and Red. The Blue has a cool effect over white. It didnt work very well on a different branded base polish, it dried and looked over dry, when I used a clear top coat it kind of smudged the effect. So diffentialy stick to OPI for the base colour. The red shatter just looked horrifing, I wouldnt recommend that colour. Found it good for an occasional change, but wont be going out of my way to buy again.
Tips: Stick to the OPI as base colour with this shatter polish.
Love the look the shatter gives off however I could never get all my nails looking nice. Some days it would be real thick to apply others it would be fine. I then wen back to use it one day and was all dried up even though the lid was on tight
