I like the OPI shatter nail polish. I have a silver, gold and dark blue one. They have a really cool effect on your nails and its really easy to do. However I did find that the gold and silver shatter went very thick quickly after I only used it a couple of time so the effect doesn't really work anymore. But I find that the blue one is still okay. They make your nails look cool if your after a different look and the effect shows up really quickly.

Wasn't hugely impressed with the effect after applying the black shatter over a white base, but that is totally a personal preference there is nothing wrong with the product and as with all OPI polishes the brush allowed for even, controlled application and wasn't too long to dry. I just don't like the shatter effect, but other than that I would refer to friends who do.
I have 3 of these, the black, the white and the silver, and I found that only the silver one gave a really nice shatter effect. The black didn't dry at all, and the white didn't give a nice effect. I would only recommend the silver shatter, but it may have just been mine that didn't work well.
I really do not like this product. It only works on certain nail polish, you always need a top coat, it chips way too easy. And I feel that it looks to tacky... I guess thats why the fad only lasted a month!
why did I buy one of these! What was I thinking? i have one word for it . GROSS. It just looks tacky to me and like you have chipped nails just no! nononononono!!!!
When shatter first became big , i just had to give it ago! i got red , light blue, black and gold . The black just went all thick and pretty much took over the nail polish under it .. if im honest it did not look good at all! The blue, gold and red were all very thin so i ended up just giving them away after what happened with the black, i luckily brought these from the warehouse so they didn't cost me $25 each . I would never buy this nail polish again , it was so over hyped!
The only way i found this worked and looked good was when i used white nail polish with the black shatter. Otherwise it just looked messy and tacky. My nails felt quite unclean when i wore it but i certainly fell into the craze of it and bought the silver, the black and the red. I would only use it now if i just wanted something a bit different and out there.
I love the idea of this product and the way it looks on other people but for me I just hate it and have to remove it straight away.Great OPI formula as always and the fact it comes in lots of different colours is pretty neat.
I had a lot of fun with shatter at first. It was superfun thinking up new colour combos (personal fave gold shatter over deep violet).
Fast forward a year or so later and I have 3 bottles of this stuff I haven't touched since.
I found it quite easy to use although it definitely needs to go over 2 coats of OPI or similar quality other brand. My flatmate could never get it to look right though it was always really uneven and not at all pretty.
Tips: Get this on sale. Don't pay full price for something you'll probably only use a couple of times
I had a couple of these nail polishes, I do like the effect that you can get from these without having to be super amazing at nail art.
They are easy enough to use, simply apply whatever colour of normal nail polish that you like (I did try on bare nails once and it didn't work out!), and then once that is dry apply a thin coat of the shatter polish. You do have to work quickly as it starts to 'shatter' almost straight away and once it has started you can't really add more on or it won't work. Also if you go to thick, it won't really work either- it will just look messy.
Overall, I think these polishes are alright, I don't actually think these ones live up to the opi standards though which is a shame. I find the avon brand shatters are actually a lot easier to use so I wouldn't buy another one of these again.
