I hated these nail polishes! Only worked as soon as you bought them, as they dried up really fast and went all gross and didn't work. Were massively overhyped when they were first released, but I don't like the look any more.

I bought a couple of these in gold and another in green. I actually really loved the look of both, but they go gluggy and crusty after about two uses. It's also really difficult to apply them in a consistent manner and gave your nails all look great. I found some would look stubbing, and then others would ge either streaky or really bunchy and blotchy. Great in theory, but the execution not quite so sound.
Tips: Top coat top coat top coat!! It's so rough that I foundmy nnails would snsg really easily, and the polish is more likely to chip because it sets kinda jagged.
I used to love using the Black Shatter to create new effects on my nails. I did often find it hard to make them "shatter" in the same pattern but that probably wasn't the point anyway. This polish did dry up in the bottle before I finished it but it lasted a while anyway! I definitely prefer OPI shatter over the cheaper shatter alternatives.
I purchased a few colours black, white and blue. I used the black a few times but then it turned thick and hard to apply. I had trouble applying it where all nails actually looked good. Some wouldn't crack and overall it just frustrated me and I will never use them again.
Tips: Spend your money on a nice OPI colour, not a shatter.
This is a very disappointing product from OPI. I bought the blue, black and white colours and was so excited to try out the new "shatter" trend. I expected a high quality product from OPI, but I feel that this product was a big fail. I only used these nail shatters a few times before giving up on them. I tried to apply a small amount of product as recommended and found that ALL the colours were thick and gluggy. They didn't give off a "shattered" effect at all, sometimes leaving thick blobs of nail polish instead. I have found many other $2 shatter polishes that are a lot better than the OPI range.
I have most of the colours in the shatter range. I tend to use them along with other nail art i do, for example one or 2 accent nails, or just on the tips! I think they are fun to use this way. I like the way the polish shatters and no 2 fingers will look the same, its very unique but I wouldn't put them on all 10 fingers thou!
Tips: Wait till your base colour is completely dry before applying the shatter.
I was a big hater of nail shatter polishes to begin with so this was probably written in the stars that I would hate it. I didn't want to hate it though! I wanted (and to be honest expected) OPI to blow my negative shatter thoughts out the window. No luck! 9 times out of 10 I ended up with a blob of nail polish that barely "shattered" it just blobbed :( Maybe there is a knack to this I am missing? But I can easily see why it ends up in the bargain bin in The Warehouse. And still not a bargain.
Tips: Just don't bother, it's not worth it.
Now that my nails are finally growing I really love trying new polish. I got the shatter polish in white thinking it would look mod and sophisticated. I found that I couldn't achieve an even looking 'shatter'. One nail would look ok, but the rest blobby and not at all classy looking! Wether I didn't have my technique right I am not sure? Had another go but gave up. Think I will stick to tried and true polishes. Just not worth it, even from a reputable brand.
Apparently, I am like a bull in a china shop when it comes to OPI and nail polishes.
I LOVE OPI! But I dont pay attention to what I buy haha!
I accidentally bought a lovely silver OPI, was nice, understated but brings a bit of bling.
I loved it! Then it dried and shattered? Well, what the heck, I was NOT expecting that! You'd think that the brush lid would have given it away! But not to this blind eejit!
While I was expecting it, and it took a while to get used to, I really liked it!
Tips: Did you mean to buy this? YES? Excellent work already! But try putting it over a bright base coat first :-)
I couldn't get this stuff to look nice, not matter how many try's :( Good colour choices BUT why won't it look pretty??? Asked friends and they couldn't get the look either. To me it's really not a look to wear especially when working with the public
