I've been a fan of the male version of Paco Rabbane Million for a while, even pinching a few sprays of my husband's when low on my own perfume. So when I was gifted the limited edition Monolopy version of Lady Million I was over the moon. From the pretty packaging to the perfume that lingers on the skin for a long time, it hit it out of the park for me.
Let's start at the packaging, the limited edition comes in a golden tin casing that has raised relief of dices on the side, it has been repurposed as a makeup storage tin, as it was far too pretty to just throw away. The actual perfume bottle looks expensive and I love how it is shaped to sit on it's side. Easy pumps out the right of spray and the liquid is a rich golden tone that just looks expensive.
Fragrance note of floral musk, with neroli, jasmine, a hint of something fruity berry like, patcholi and a warmth of honey and amber it is a seriously grown up sexy lady type of perfume that I love it had all the right notes for me and it warms up on the skin, with quite a few compliments and questions of what I was wearing when wore out for an evening, which always makes me fall even more in love with a perfume.
I can see this fragrance being on my dresser for a long time as it is quite a powerful fragrance, a little goes a long way and I have a large bottle, even so, I would put this in my top 10 fragrances to repurchase.
When I first received this perfume I was underwhelmed with the tacky looking bottle but the more I saw it sitting on the vanity the more I appreciated the creative aspect of it. I had the same experience with the fragrance, it didn’t win me over at all on the first spritz but over time it grew on me.
It’s not your typical perfume bottle instead it looks like a futuristic golden bauble that doesn’t sit upright (which initially annoyed me). Despite looking beautiful on the vanity it’s quite bulky and not travel friendly. There isn’t a lid so the nozzle thought inset is exposed which from my experience with these types of design doesn’t impact on the fragrance.
When I spritz the perfume I get a rush of warm floral notes and a hint of zest and I generally zest is my thing but this blend didn’t sit well on my skin. Within the first few hours I felt like I was wearing a perfume that was well past it’s expiry date from the 80s; I was not a fan.
The more I wore it however, the more I enjoyed it – not sure if it was because I grew up haha or the season but it dries down to a warm powdery floral – not talcum powder floral (lets get that out of the way!).
I would have repurchased this perfume however the last power is mediocre at best and with a price point like that I know I can get a more affordable perfume where it’s love at first spritz and lasts me from 9-5.
