Lush Sugar Scrub Review

Our solid Sugar Scrub is tough on cellulite and unwanted bumps, but kind on your skin. It’s no nonsense attitude doesn’t waste any time getting down to business; sweetly exfoliating with Fair Trade sugar and stimulating circulation with fennel and ginger. It’s not all rough stuff though; calming lavender has a balancing effect and encourages healthier skin. Get yourself wet in the bath or shower (but don’t let the bar get under the running water). Scrub, scrub, scrub and rinse away! You’ll be left with smoother, cleaner and radiant skin. Water you waiting for? Get scrubbing!

A Disappointment.

I rarely find LUSH products that does not work for me but this is one of them.

I was very excited and keen to try this sugar scrub out, and as soon as I got home I gave it ago in the shower.

It was abit crumbly but it is sugar so it was expected. But what I did not expect was how harsh and rough it was on the skin. I only did my arms and then gave up . I was thinking maybe I was putting to much pressure on so I was going to try it again next time I had a shower.

But to my disappointment, the whole thing had melted by the next day. Even tho I had left it to dry, I had green sugar water left. Not cool at all.

If there was a better way to store it so it wouldn't melt and if it wasn't so rough I would definitely give it another go but for now its a nope.

Green Sandpaper?

It looks good enough a little green bump, that looked kind of like it has half of lush on the top of it, easy enough to use, Can't go wrong or so I thought.

Don't get me wrong I love scrubs, especially ones that actually make you feel like your removing dead skin and nasty bits.

I found this was worse than rough, I felt like I was sandpapering myself in the shower. It said not to get it wet well umm I'm in the shower how is it not going to. It dissolves pretty easy when it is wet as well. I'm not to sure how well the rest of the bar will keep or if it's a one use wonder. Definitely was a once use wonder for me I new have a pile of green slime.

Definitely Exfoliated, in fact I think a layer of skin went down the drain with it.

Owwwwwww

I am a huge Lush fan and received Sugar Scrub as part of a gift set at Christmas time. The product is a half dome and comes in a protective plastic shell with a peel off lid- I really wish this lid could be replaced as if the scrub gets left wet it completely dissolves! I had trouble getting the scrub out of its plastic casing as well which was frustrating, It is a beautiful green colour and smell refreshing andspring like with fennel and ginger. Sadly, that's where my appreciation for this scrub ends. It is soooo harsh. As in, it left visible scratches on my skin! I broke some off and mixed it with some water to try and see if I could make it softer to use but no luck- my skin was still left raw and sore for ages after.

Horrible on skin

Unfortunately I didnt like this soap, Im such a big fan of the Lush range of soaps, I think they're very imaginative and are well thought up.

I do like exfoliate soaps I think they feel great on skin and leave a good soft delicate smooth texture on your skin. This one is really harsh on my skin and is quite rough.

Wouldnt recommend to sensitive dry skin types

Scrub for Smooth Skin

In the past month or two, I have gone from a Lush Virgin, to a Lush addict. And the sugar scrub from lush is one of the new products I have added to my collection.

The sugar scrub comes in a half circle dome, and is a green in colour. The scrub is a decent size and fits really well in my hand, making it easy to hold in the bath/shower and the texture. I have to admit I really like the texture and the graininess of this product. It is advertised as a sugar scrub, and that’s exactly what it is, it gentle enough of skin, but it gets the job done with a nice, large sugar granules.

I have to say, after using this scrub, my skin felt like butter. It was so smooth and felt so good without being hard and damaging or hurting my skin. I haven’t noticed a change in my cellulite, but I don’t have much cellulite so maybe that’s why?

One negative about this product is that it can’t get wet. This might seem reasonable, but really if you’re having a shower or a bath, the idea that a slip of the hand will make you watch as you sugar scrub dissolves in front of you and gets washed done the drain is so unappealing to me. Unfortunately, even if this scrub doesn’t get left under running water, even if it just gets a little wet from the water off your skin, or if some water trickles down your arms and gets to the scrub, it starts dissolving which sucks because it is extremely unrealistic for a product to not get a touch of water of it when it’s a shower/bath product and for this reason I find it very unappealing to repurchase this product, even though it makes my skin feel great. Additionally, after i used this scrub and it got slightly wet (from the water from my skin), i put it into a container to keep it safe and fresh. When i next went to use it, it had turned into a pile of mush. Although it was still usable, it was really dissapointing. Especially because the only water this scrub has absorbed was the water off my skin.. which should be expected!

Does the job, doesn't impress

I am a total Lushie and love their ethics and what their brand stands for. While in store a few weeks ago I was directed to this product as an alternative to their other food scrub product as this was meant to last longer. It's true this can last a long time if you use it sparingly and keep the remainder away from moisture. This helped scrub off dead skin from my feet and left them feeling softer and was quite effective, but I doubt I will buy it again.

Tips: Break off a small portion to take into the shower with you otherwise if the rest of the bar has contact with water it will start turning all sticky. As for it's appearance, it is simple and a cheaper and dry option from their rub rub scrub - but I would go with the Rub rub for it's container and quantity. It does the same job too.

Awkward Shape

I really liked this scrub, it felt AMAZING on my skin, and it smelled even better. I would put it on in the shower, and it wasn't too harsh on me. However, I didn't really like the shape of it at all. It was very awkward, and I feel that I wasted a lot of it as it dissolved in the shower water and formed a dark green goop in the bottom of the bag it was packaged in. I think I would have preferred it to be in a jar or something like that, it would have been much better. I didn't see a huge change in my stretchmarks and the little bit of cellulite I have, but I was using it more for exfoliation rather than to remove any unwanted marks.

Tips: Maybe put it in a pot or a jar before use, the weird shape of it is not forgiving and quite irritating.

Lush Sugar Scrub <3

This sugar scrub is great for exfoliating for your skin. Help get rid of dead skin & really easy to use.

The only down side was I was hoping that it would help reduces my unwanted cellulite but I didnt see an huge results.

Overall this sugar scrub was okay , it did leave my skin feeling soft & smooth. Easy to grip while scrubbing in the shower.

Tips: You could also crush the scrub & put it into a jar or any container . Just apply enough scrub onto your skin. It would definitely last alot longer and get more use.

Smells yummy but a bit rough for my sensitive skin

Okay so I'm a huge obsessed fan of Lush and I was lucky enough to grab one of these Sugar Scrubs. The size is super generous and I really love the shape.

Unfortunately due to sensitive skin, I found that it really made my skin feel quite raw, although I felt super clean, more like squeaky clean lol due to how rough it is.

I found it to be quite crumbly too as I had to cut a slice of it off so that the whole product didn't get wet when I took it in the shower.

It did smell nice however and it would be great if they had a similar product but more for sensitive skin gals like myself.

All in all this type of product I would recommend for more thicker skinned lovelies as they won't find it as sore when using it. I am however on the hunt for a more gentle type scrub. I gave the rest of it away to one of my amazing friends to try out that may not find it as hard on the skin.

Tips: If you have sensitive skin, I would not recommend it lovelies xxx

Sugar Scrub

I usually love all the products I get at Lush, but this was more a miss than a hit for me. I was told in-store to dampen the scrub so I could break a piece off to use, which was fine until I got to the middle of the scrub and had hard bits (from the scrub getting damp and then drying up). So can't break bits off and have to use a big hard lump = scratched skin. It's lasted a while (I think so far 5 uses and I've got another two left). Aside from all that the first few times using this sugar scrub I loved it. Exfoliates well. I did get a bit of mess in the shower but that's easily rinsed away. I prefer Rub Rub Rub more. Easier to use in a tub and you don't have to worry about where to store it.

Tips: Break it up somehow. Away from any water. Ignore staff recommendation of dampening to brake chunks off.
