Lush Turkish Delight Review

Lather up with our delightfully buttery rose-scented shower smoothie. Each pot is made with superb quality ingredients including aphrodisiac jasmine and Turkish rose, smoothing almond oil, moisturizing cocoa butter and neroli - the euphoric essential oil. Smooth on this softening smoothie in the shower, let it sit for a minute then rinse off for clean, touchably soft and fragrant skin. A pot of this suits all skin types, but it is particularly good for dry and sensitive bodies that need moisture.

More Turkish bath than Turkish delight

A BR lovely gifted me a pot of this when she decided it wasn't her thing. This is a nostalgia item for me as it's based on an original Cosmetics to Go product (the company that preceded Lush) It isn't sweet like it's name suggests. Instead of being based on the confectionery, it's supposed to smell more like a Turkish bath or hammam. It's is a much headier fragrance than Lush's usual rose offerings and has a muskiness to it. Combined with jasmine, this gives it a really exotic fragrance. This is my favourite thing about this product.

I apply this thick soapy cream in the shower with a sponge and then rinse off. You only want to apply a small amount at a time otherwise more ends up on the shower floor than on your body. It has a slight lather to it. I don't apply body lotion afterwards. It does leave my skin soft but I feel like I want to top the hydration up on my legs.

I would use this again but Lush have discontinued it in this format. It is now a 'roulade' which is a solid version that I'm not so keen on. This is also due to be discontinued. I'm just hoping this means Lush bring this back in this format as I love all the original CTG products.

Not All Sweet

When I was given this I had no idea what a shower smoothie even was/did. So I'll start by explaining how you use a shower smoothie. You use it like a shower gel and either apply it to the skin with either your hands or a loofah. I prefer using my fingers personally. Then just like soap or shower gel you wash it away, hopefully leaving a hint of rose scent behind. Because a shower smoothie is also a creamy whipped type of body wash instead of gel for example, it is also possibly more moisturising.

In regards to Turkish Delight specifically, it was quite a thick shower smoothie with a lovely smooth creamy texture. In colour it is a pale pink and it has quite a sweet rose scent. It didn't in my opinion smell as turkish delight like as some other rosewater products I have smelt.

I felt the product felt lovely on my skin, but I didn't think it was amazing as a moisturing product. I also felt it was a bit overpriced which I have heard is due to importing turkish roses. I think they could use local products and create a cheaper product that doesn't smell much different.

Skins Feels Soft

The Turkish Delight scent smells like roses. The shower smoothie is a very pale pink colour and the texture is like a dense whipped cream.I used the 50 gram pot and i only got 5 uses out of it. How did my skin feel afterwards? It left my skin feeling soft

Tips: Put the shower smoothie into your palm and dont let the water get onto it because it will melt and wash away

Not really like Turkish Delight.

After having this on my wishlist for over a year I finally got to try this. My partner spoiled me over christmas and got me a Sugar Sugar gift box. I had been lusting over this box all year. I couldn't wait to try this.

Typically lush shower smoothies come in black pots with the lush labelling. I have the 50 ml pot which is quite small and it fits in the palm of my hand. Their ingredients are fresh and have expiry dates on most of their products. I like that I can see whats inside their products. The colour is a light pink shade. The texture of this is so smooth. Just like a fruit smoothie but doesn't melt. I had imagined this smelling like Turkish delight squares. But this does not smell like it at all. This smells like a boquet of roses and wild flowers. A strong scent. I was very surprised by this and kinda let down that there wasn't any turkish delight scent. Turkish delight is one of my favourite sweets , so I had high hopes for this being like this.

When I apply this , I wet my body first. Turn off the shower. Lather my body in this smoothie with my hands. When I tried showering and washing the water just melted it away . Be very careful with application. I found using a loofa and puff made it disintergrate into it and did not lather well at all. I wash this off and my body feels clean and this scent lingers.

Overall lushes packaging so far is durable and holds its product well. This can be pricey but I find you get better value by buying a gift pack. A little bit disapointed with this scent. The consistency is great if you like a product that doesnt having a foaming effect. A little bit of product goes a long way. I'm glad I didn't buy full size because I got to have a try without commiting to a larger size. I won't be buying it again because it doesn't live up to it's name.

Smooth

I LOVE Turkish delight, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner so when I saw this for the first time I was jumping for joy THEN I read it smelt like roses and I immediately remembered ro's argan body conditioner and it put me off. I really wasn't a fan of it but yet I love the Rose jam shower gel and Jason and the argan oil solid shampoo, go figure! So I was hopeful it would smell like rose jam.

This pot is rather pricey weighing in at $39.90 for 200g, the signature black pot from lush is made from recycled materials and don't forget you can take 5 empty tubs back to Lush in exchange for a fresh face mask!

This smoothie is a very, very pale pink colour and the texture is like mousse, an aerated whipped cream. I scoop out a small amount and slather it all over my body. The scent is a mix of Rose and jasmine. It's not a full blown rose scent it's quite delicate just like the smoothie.

It does leave my skin feeling lovely and soft and the scent does linger for a few hours if I don't apply moisturiser straight away.

Would I buy it again? Sorry Lush no, it's quite pricey and I would only get 10-15 uses out of a tub, I don't love it and feel some of the cheaper shower gels smell better and last longer on my skin.

In a bed of roses

This was on my Lush wish list for a while when I finally purchased some online, I was lucky enough to buy a full unused tub on the Lush buy and sell page for cheaper than what they charge in the store.

I felt like a child waiting for Christmas day! Once it came I couldn't wait for my babies to fall asleep just so I could try Turkish delight.

Now I had read a few reviews that mentioned the words "roses" but I didn't think that I would get a product that smells exactly like roses. Its crazy, its strange and I had mixed emotions when I smelt this.

I have never tried a shower smoothie so this was all new to me, the formula resembles body butter, you scoop a small amount and rub it all over. I found it tricky to wash off as it clings to your skin.

I cant believe how fragrant this Shower smoothie is, its like you have invisible roses all around you constantly.

Sadly I dont notice a difference in my skin when I get out of the shower. Yes I smell like a rose but my skin is just as smooth prior to hoping into the shower.

I have been using up the tub just so I can use it for the Lush bring it back program. I have no intention in repurchasing this product again.

Delightful...

I had a small pot of this product, that came in a gift box I was given for my birthday. This product has an amazing smell, and the texture is beautiful. I am guttered I have run out of it, but will definitely be buying it again. It leaves your skin smelling divine, and is so moisturizing. PLUS it is a natural product, and I just can't get any happier knowing that the products I am using on my skin are good for it :)

Afternoon (Turkish) Delight

This was a goodie i recieved in two lush gift packs i was gifted, lucky me! Firstly, i will say that if these werent gifted to me, i would not be able to afford this product because it is pricey!

This shower smoothie comes in the typical black lush container, which is great because it can conrtibute to their recycle scheme where you bring back 5 pots, and get a free face mask. Bonus.

This smoothie is thick. Like the consistency would be similar to a body shop body butter, but a bit more aerated. Its thick, and cream, and is a soft white color, with a hint of pink. It feels lovely, and has a nice smell to it. It smells like Turkish delight (rose), but has a buttery richness to it which i love as well. It also has a hint of jasmine in there aswell, which is a scent i despise. But its not too noticeable either way so its not a big deal.

I use this shower smoothie after i have washed, and pretty much just grab a handful and massage it over my skin. It does create a slight lather, but nothing insane, and i would not use it as a cleanser, only as a body conditioner.

The results, well my skin feels so hydrated and smooth. It just feels amazing, and i do find the smell slightly lingers on my skin, but not for long. I also make sure i dry myself by patting myself dry rather than rubbing my skin dry because that ensures the product does hold on my skin, and makes the effects long lasting.

Overall, this product is nice, and does what it says it will do. But it is just so pricey, and unless i was gifted it again, its not something i could afford to purchase for myself.

Good for sensitive skin. Smells delicious!

Got it in one of the Christmas gift packs from Lush. Fell in love with this the first time I used it. It is a shower smoothie, which is so much fun to play with first of all. Second of all, it smells delicious. When my boyfriend uses it, I just couldn't help myself but biting him lol (sorry if TMI). Also, he has really sensitive skin, but didn't get any rash after use. Very happy with it, and will repurchase, not only for me, for him too....

Tips: Use an exfoliating mitt if want more cleaning power.

Soft like mousse

I really love this shower smoothie as it is super soft and really fluffy like marshmallow. It really reminds me of the d-fluff that they sell for shaving your legs, very similar consistency. It doesn't lather up though like a normal shower gel or soap so if you really like that lathering aspect, then this may not be the product for you. Its definitely different but its a pleasant different not a horrible one. It leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised and leaves your skin feeling clean. The only thing I don't like is the smell, its kind of a musk scent which I'm not that much of a fan of, but its not horrible so you get used to it.
