Not bad....just not GOOD. Average pigment, too shimmery, creased badly. Great for price, but I rarely reach for it on its own.

e.l.f Essentials Brightening Eye Color
Reviews
I originally bought this because a friend said she used it for her eyebrows... Great, except for the fact it's shimmery, so it was absolutely fine during winter.. But the moment the sun decided to show up, I looked like I had mini discoballs on my eyebrows. Okay that might be an exaggeration but yeah. It doesn't work for an eyebrow filler if it's going to be sunny.
So I decided to put it to the test for what it's meant to do... Here is where it got really average. I wanted to like it, because the colours were so nice, but it's just SO shimmery. And i'm not one to ever want anything shimmery on my face. So it sits at the bottom of my makeup drawer, and occassionally I might pull it out to use the white if I really want to brighten my inner eyes. But i've got so many other whites that this is a real backup.
I think that this little eyeshadow quad is great for the price, but is a little bit difficult to work with. I found that the first two shades were decently pigmented, the third colour was incredibly pigmented, and the fourth shade wasn't very pigmented at all. I also found that the third shade was quite difficult to blend if too much product was added, so that one should be used very sparingly. Overall, I thought it was average, but definitely would be one to pick up if you want a cheap eyeshadow quad.
This is a bit of a meh product, i don't reach for it but it is decently pigmented, the colours are pretty, i have the palette in butternut its good, its meh though now that i have a bigger collection of palettes it kind of just gets over looked but great for a begginer or someone on a budget, its got 4 pretty neutral colors that can create a great everyday look.
Tips: Use a primer, use your finger to pack on color
I used this every day when I first purchased it! Great for creating a neutral eye for a good price. I found the pigmentation good and it lasted a reasonable time on my lids. Easy to blend.
I really like this eye shadow the 4 colours are a great neutral blend, I apply my e.l.f. primer first and have no problem with the colours budging. the shades are not overwhelming with the lightest shade being skin colour and the darkest being more of a charcoal, they blend very well together to give your eyes the shadowed look.
The packaging is very basic, a white plastic case with clear plastic lid, it comes with an applicator which is helpful.
For a neutral shaded palette, I would recommend this .
easy to apply and the colours are in order eg: lightest to darkest.
I had no sensitivity to this product.
Tips: I would recommend to use a primer before application to allow eye shadow to hold.
This neutral e.l.f trio was my first ever eyeshadow palette and I've been searching for it ever since I ran out (fortunately I just discovered IHerb so we will be reunited very soon). This is the shadow I compare all other to because each shade is so perfect. Most of the time with neutral trios and quads I find them too shimmery or the browns too dark, which means I can end up looking like a raccoon when I only want a natural look.
I never had this problem with e.l.f shadows :) it's a really affordable product that is a great makeup staple
Look for $2 online you can't really go wrong, I don't wear eyeshadow that often and when I do I prefer a natural look. This eyeshadow in Brownstone is very natural and flattering for my pale skin, the darkest colour is a lovely pigmented charcoaly brown that is less harsh than black. The lightest colour is skin toned and the second colour is a lovely taupe, the third colour is a darker brown that I really like. They are all decently pigmented and blend well.
Tips: If you prefer natural eyeshadow and are on a budget definitely try this out
I'm not big on eyeshadow always going for neutrals tones rather than bright or sparkly ones so i decided to give this one a go because of the respectable brand and low price. I use this palette with e.l.f mineral eyeshadow primer which i think makes quite the difference in application and staying power as opposed to not using a primer. The four hues in this palette blend really well together to form a sublte smokey eye and they are colours that will suit any colour of eyes. The eyeshadow does tend to flake and fall a little upon application but it's nothing that i can't swiftly touch up with a sponge and bit of concealer. Does it brighten the eyes? I think so, any neutral shade does regardless of eye colour..? This eyeshadow needs to be used with a primer for staying power, but other than that is a decent product for the price.
Tips: Use with primer
Purchased from kmart for a dollar earlier this year as it was slightly damaged. Has been a staple in my make up kit as an easy to use no fuss look. Didn't come with a mirror as stated which was inconvenient but over liked the product.
Tips: Always use a base primer to get the shadow to stay on longer
