Obviouslly it has a great price point which was why it originally why it appealed to me. But I found the pigmentation to be terrible and was quite a chalky consistency. I could have had a bad batch but I wouldn't repurchase

e.l.f Essentials Brightening Eye Color
Reviews
These eyeshadows are seriously dirt cheap!! Some shades has amazing pigmentation and some are really bad quality. Overall it's a little bit more on the powdery side not buttery at all, but for the price you pay for they're still good products for sure!
The most pigmented one is probably "Day 2 Night" out of the whole colour range!
To be honest I didn't expect much as that is exactly what I got, the pigmentation is not great and there is a lot of fallout. This would be a good option for a teen who is just starting out with makeup.
Tips: If used wet the pigmentation is a lot better
I liked the look of this because I like browny/neutral colours. I had my daughter order this off a website for me and it was very affordable.
I usually use a sponge applicator or even my fingers to put this on and I have had a few compliments from people telling me how nice and natural this looks.
Because these are so pretty and affordable - and easy to use, I want to try other shades from this brand. These are really nice.
Nice colours but not the best. The pigmentation is not all that great but good for the price though and very easy to blend. Definitely need a good eye primer to make it stay properly.
I am a fan of E.L.F. products - usually a reasonable quality for the price. This is no different.
I do like the colour combo - all match and can be blended for a lovely look. I like the size of the compact as it is great to take on the run with you. And of course, I love the price (I paid less then $10 for mine).
However, I find that this eyeshadow does not last all day and is not very pigmented. This can be a good thing in that it allows you to build up the colour, but also a bad in that you need to cake it on almost.
Overall, I might buy it again as it would be a good product to throw in a handbag for touch ups during the day, but I wouldn't use it as a main eyeshadow product simply because I like my makeup to last and be reasonably pigmented.
Tips: Use a primer to help increase the longevity of your eyeshadow.
I like ELF - and I use alot of it But unfortunately the color pay off was not that great so I had to pile it on - and then it looked caked on - not a pretty sight! I tried it with a primer but alas still not a good color pay off The price was good but I would rather spend a little bit more and actually be able to get a good look
Tips: Spend a little more on a better color pay off
I purchase this off iherb for approx $3NZD. I do agree with the reviews in that it is doesnt stay on long enough for my liking. You definately need to build the colour up but thats the joy of this product is that you get four shades. The size is a little smaller than normal, however it suits me because it fits in my handbag.
Overall, E.L.F is an inexpensive brand, so dont expect too much.
I'm not big on eyeshadow always going for neutrals tones rather than bright or sparkly ones so i decided to give this one a go because of the respectable brand and low price. I use this palette with e.l.f mineral eyeshadow primer which i think makes quite the difference in application and staying power as opposed to not using a primer. The four hues in this palette blend really well together to form a sublte smokey eye and they are colours that will suit any colour of eyes. The eyeshadow does tend to flake and fall a little upon application but it's nothing that i can't swiftly touch up with a sponge and bit of concealer. Does it brighten the eyes? I think so, any neutral shade does regardless of eye colour..? This eyeshadow needs to be used with a primer for staying power, but other than that is a decent product for the price.
Tips: Use with primer
But nothing to rave about. I have had this in Nouveau neutrals and butternut and each quad has two good workable shades which are frosty but not sparkly with good payoff and a couple which are glittery chalky and just not for me. Also bear in mind how little these are and getting your brush in the corners is a real hassle. Not expensive but not the best value for money either. If you love one give it a try but don't go buy the whole range without trying first!
