NYX Eyebrow Pencil Review

After a long time love affair with the ever popular and super expensive ABH brow whiz I ventured into other brands to find a dupe that could make my bank balance a little bit happier. Out of them all the only closest was this NYX eyebrow pencil.

The product inside has a good colour match to the ABH version when it comes to taupe/ash blonde, the formula is a little more waxy and isn't as fine so you end up with more of a dragging wax effect onto the brows to fill in the gaps then precise application, that can not be achieved at all with this product.

There is no spool at the end, rather a course bristle comb that manages to tame the brow hairs and helps to tidy up application. Once it is on and settled it won't easily slip and slide on your face or transfer, even after giving my brows a little scratch I found that they were still intact.

There is a lot of good and equal bad with this product but for the price I am willing to work with it.

This is a retractable dual ended brow product. 1 end has the brush which is short brush with a nice shape but very coarse & dense in this case I use it to either get my brows prepped or to recover my heavy hand by removing the over kill of product. It has good pigmemtation & suits both my skin tone & hair. The pencil is slightly waxy and not exactly a liner it has a blunt round tip so it can be customized by the way you use the product. It can be a bit thick for the untamd hand & I at times struggle with it but then other times I'm using it at ease. It's good for stokes thru the brows and for outlinimg the brows. I think all in all its a good product for the price & performance

I picked this pencil up a while ago as I was finishing a few of my eyebrow pencils, I have black thick eyebrow hairs so I normally choose the darkest shade possible for eyebrows, the shade I purchased was Black.

The pencil is an automatic one so you don't need to sharpen it. You wind it up and your ready to go! The pencil point is shaped like an oval so you can change the thickness by the way you hold it.

This shade is definitely black, and very dark, I wish I purchased a lighter shade! It is easy to line your eyebrows and mimic hair strokes.

The brush on the other hand is not useful, it is hard and very dense. If you use this to push the product through your eyebrows, you will just literally rub the product off your eyebrows.

Overall the eyebrow pencil does a great job, but the brush isn't very good.

I will be repurchasing this in a lighter shade.

I bought the NYX eyebrow pencil in medium brown off nzsale which is what all my other eyebrow products the shade is, I was super excited to try this on my brows.....but it came out way orangey :( So i havent used it since i guess ill just use it as a eyeliner

I have very thick, dark eyebrows naturally thanks to my dad and I maintain them myself so I only needed a brow pencil to fill in the gaps in my brows so I thought I would try this eyebrow pencil because it was so cheap. My eyebrows are black but I did not want to get black because they tend to make my eyebrows too intense so I opted for dark brown instead.

When I first tried it I found that it was quite waxy rather than creamy which I really liked so it didn't create any harsh lines and I loved that its a wind up pencil rather than having to sharpen it. The colour was perfect for me and it was so easy to fill in any gaps. The only thing I don't like about this product is that the actual product has a very blunt/rounded end rather than a sharp end so it was a bit difficult to create a sharp tail, however I got used to it and I absolutely love it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone because they have a great colour selection too.

I absolutely love this product. Having black hair can mean having a harder time trying to find a good match. Some may think that black would be easy because you would just use black, true, but most of the time the black eyebrow products turn out tooo black, and it just looks ugly. I found that this in 'black' was the perfect amount of black for me, it is almost a grey once you brush it out and it looks so natural. I would recommend this for anyone with black hairs and are finding it hard to find a product to match. I cannot say enough good things.

I brought this product off of urbanoutfitters.com in the shade 'Dark Brown'.

When I first used the product it seemed to light for eyebrows and I thought what a waste of money. I then used it again a few weeks later and found that if I pushed it harder it was darker and matched my eyebrows perfectly.

It stayed on for a long time without moving or smudging and you don't have to sharpen it. The only things I don't like about this pencil is the brush on the other side is a little flimsy and there isn't a lot of product in the tube.

This has been my go to brow pencil for the last few years, went everywhere with me... right up until it's last moment. The brush was great for dematting the brows post application and keeping them tidy before (I also used mine to blend out if I was a little heavy handed). The pencil itself was great, not anything special but did a nice tidy job and suited my brows well. It left a nice natural looking finish with good pigmentation. One thing I loved about this product is the fact that you don't need a sharpener... twist up to extend.

That having been said I am in the hunt for a suitable replacement... you see after being faithful to this pencil for the last few years it just up and left me one day... just left... without saying a word! I felt lost without it.
