Pigment is a highly concentrated loose colour powder that contains ingredients to help it adhere to the skin. Create a subtle wash of colour or an intense effect. Does not streak or cake. Easy to blend and long-lasting. Please note Pigments are sold by weight not volume. Containers can appear to be less than full due to settling of the product.

In love!

I can not rave on about these pigments enough! They are amazing! Sooo pigmented and you get so much product. You only need the tiniest bit and the staying power they have on the lid is out of this world. Would definitely reccomend applying a base coat before hand for best color pay off. These pigments do not fall out and when i say a little goes a long way, i meant it. I tap the tip of my fluffy brush and pat gently onto the center and inner corner of my eye. The packaging is easy to use and comes with a screw top lid. Affordable pricing. Highly reccomend.

Memories...

When I first started getting into make up (10 years ago) i used to have quite a collection of these pigments. I had all different shades but clearly remember falling in love with the Cornflower Blue, it was my absolute favourite. I used to use these with no primer (back in the days before primer was a thing) and these still lasted all day. Very very pigmented, you don't need to use much to get a stunning eyeshadow look.

I haven't repurchased them since as it was relatively challenging to purchase (before the new stores existed and I brought onine and got it shipped to NZ) and I find it too pricey. It is a great quality product but I believe I could get similar results for the fraction of the cost.

Stunning, but overpriced

I own four of the mini pigments that I've received through two different Christmas giftsets. I own the shades 'English Gilt' a soft gold, 'Bright Fuchsia'; a hot pink-red, 'Pink Opal'; an opalescent frosty shade, and 'Shine Time'; a copper shimmer. All four of these shades are absolutely stunning colours and have a beautiful shimmer to them. I find the pigments all perform differently according to the shade. The pigments come in a simple clear container with a black lid, and have a stopper under the lid to prevent the product leaking. There is no sifter however, so you have to dip your brush right into the container, or shake product out, so you're forced to pick an unhygienic option or a messy option. Naturally, being pigments, all of the shades have super intense colour payoff, and a tiny amount of product goes a long way. I'd recommend like the reviewer below me has, to get these in the mini version as you are unlikely to ever use up an entire full size of these, given how little product is required to get a massive amount of colour. The pigments are quite finely milled and not chunky at all, so they apply very smoothly to the eyelid. I do find there is a lot of fall-out with these, compared to other pigments I've used, and this persists even if I wet my brush or spray my brush with setting spray to get the pigment to stick, The darker shades I own tend to be hard to work with because the fall out from the pigment actually stains the skin and is very difficult to remove with make up remover. Once applied, these last very well and the colour stays very strong; they last so well that they are incredibly difficult to remove, particularly the shade 'Bright Fuchsia'. These also work really well layered with the Mac eye glitters on top. I do find that the paler shades don't wear as well throughout the day as the darker shades; 'English Gilt' and 'Pink Opal' wear out more throughout the day than my two darker shades. I do really like these pigments, but they are very expensive, and whilst stunning, aren't really any more special that other pigments on the market that cost half of the price. I enjoy the ones I own as they were gifts but if I was wanting a pigment again in the future, I would go for a cheaper option. However, if you don't mind the splurge, these are a nice product.

Tips: Purchase the mini versions as a little of this goes a long way, and you'll get more bang for your buck!

Mac pigment review

Loved this product highly recommended. Heard so much about these products so was happy to review. Products were amazing and lasts so long as quite a bit in the jar. Product is quite fine pigment that covers but covers a lot. Goes on nice and smooth as well.

Perfect pigments

I’ve had a few of these in my time. My absolute favourite was vanilla - a creamy colour followed closely by melon. These were the first ever Mac products I ever brought as I had heard so much about them.

I was excited to try and haven’t been put off by the price. There is actually a lot in the bottle and it’s quite a light fine pigment but covers well so a little goes a long way.

Vanilla lasted me a looooong time - even using as a highlighter occasionally.

I have used quite a few colours but majority have been minis or some friends and I have swapped a wee bit here and there - also handy.

It is quite loose so tap that brush well. It can have a bit of fall out and my pottle gets a bit messy. So be careful when using.

I love the long lasting look and no creasing. It’s not often I build up the effect of this for high impact eyes. So I rarely wet it but I brush is on and it blends well. With high shimmer in the ones I’ve used I’ve been really impressed.

Perfectly pigmented

If you love eyeshadow and you haven't tried MAC Pigments before you need to! The loose pigments come packaged in cylindrical containers with easy-to-open lids that allow you to easily brush a little bit of product from the top without getting it everywhere - it's easy to make a mess with these!

To apply I tap a small eyeshadow brush on the top of the container to collect pigment, then use the lid of the container to tap off the excess. I've applied the pigment using a damp eyeshadow brush sprayed with setting spray to create a statement metallic eye, on a slim liner brush for metallic liner or on a dry brush for a quick and glowing addition to any eye look.

I have this in both Tan, a beautiful bronze, and Rose, a coppery rose pink.

I love this product and highly recommend it to other makeup lovers.

Tips: MAC has these in size-to-go minis for a steal which are more than enough for the casual user, so if you're unsure of these then the size-to-go are a great option to try.

One of my all time favorite products!

Mac pigments are AMAZING. I have around 10 now and they all work beautifully. My absolute favourites would have to be; Tan, Melon and Rose. They are also very versatile too.

Tips: Spraying your brush with Mac Fix+ makes them even more intense

Not just for eyes!

I decided to venture into the world of loose pigments last year and I have no regrets. I now have three of these beauties in Blue Brown, Rose and Tan. Rose has been a nightmare to find in stores (NZ and USA) as its part of the whole rose gold trend. Took me 12 months of hunting to finally get one, so patience pays off in that respect.

I like to use these as a statement eyeshadow that gives an ultra shimmery lid to catch the light and sometimes even catches compliments. I take a tiny amount with a MAC 242 brush, and mix in with a small amount of fix+. Beware that spilling this creates the mess to end all messes and if you're confident in your handling techniques, then you'll be fine.

I've also used this in with some lipglosses to create a custom gloss but my technique needs some work! And apparently you can use it in nail polish too, which intrigues me.

Tips: use with MAC Fix+ spray to foil onto eyelids and prevent fall out.

Love these

I have many different shades of mac pigments, started out getting all the mini ones to see if they were worth the hype. I LOVE these pigments they last for so long even just the mini ones and even though they are more on the expensive side I think they are worth it because you get so much use out of them. My favourite shade is the shade vanilla, I love putting this pigment in the inner corner of my eye it really makes my whole eye makeup pop!

Tips: wet your brush before using as it makes more pigment and also helps the pigment to stay on the brush better, fix plus is good to use for this

Love These Little Gems

Over the years my MAC pigment collection has rapidly grown and I'm in love with every single colour I have especially Old Gold and Bronze. All of the colours are vibrant and glide onto skin like satin. For an even more intense pigment you can apply it with a wet brush ( I use Mac Fix +). A little goes a long way with this product making these pigments extreme value for money.

Tips: As this product does tend to have fallout I complete my eye makeup first do that I can clean this up before applying the rest of my makeup. Sample pots are often available to buy online (trademark etc) and areapply a great way to sample the product.

Great tip. Thanks. I am always in a hurry when applying makeup so scared I might get this all over my face. Lol
