If you’ve ever complained about the original NYX butter glosses lacking in pigmentation then you may want to try this range. Be warned, the pigmentation is insane! I bought my lot from Farmers as individuals ($16.00) and in sets ($28.00).
I’ve always loved NYX’s packaging for their glosses; they’re fun in colour and great for travel where you could pack a whole bunch and still have room for other makeup items. I love the soft paddle-shaped applicator because it’s flexible so that you can manoeuvre it around the lips effortlessly.
The glosses are extremely pigmented where one swipe is more than enough to give you colourful glossy lips. I don’t find the glosses sticky or tacky which is great however just like any gloss it transfers like crazy when in contact with anything. It has a richer vanilla scent than the original butter glosses and a thicker and creamier consistency.
I find the darker shades (Black Cherry - a deep purple, Oatmeal Raisin - a deep mauve) patchier in application so I have to reapply more often than the more “subdued” shades I own (Chocolate Crepe - a nude mauve and Toasted Marshmallow - berry mauve). Over time the product does bleed so I apply a wash of lipliner underneath to help contain the product as much as possible.
Overall the glosses are more of a “fun” item for me to wear as opposed to something that I would wear regularly (like the more wearable butter glosses) but if you’re looking for something colourful, glossy and fun to wear for a few hours then perhaps these are right up your alley.
I am a devoted fan of the standard NYX butter lip gloss colours. I have stocked up on several different colours, and I adore that my dry lips stay moist throughout the day when wearing them.
The Intense butter gloss range is the same feel as the normal butter glosses but - as the name suggests - the colour is much more... intense! If you are feeling brave and want a bright lip colour, these are really fun to work with.
The only down side is that if the gloss gets anywhere other than you lips (such as when the wind whips your hair in your face and smears your lippie across your cheeks) it leaves a very obvious stain so you might want some kind of wipes/micellar water on hand to tidy that up. You'll also need to be conscious of it getting on white clothing.
The gloss won't stay on all day, but even when it has worn off a bit from eating and drinking it still leaves a gorgeous tinted colour on your lips. You can then easily re-apply as needed.
The cheap price means you can play with lots of different colours. Love this product!
Tips: Apply this gloss as the last thing you do before heading out the door. That way you won't risk it smearing on clothing etc.
