Heart Riri Woo & Nude

Love my Riri lipsticks, I love Riri Woo, missed out the first time it came out as it sold out within 2 days I think. So glad I got my hands on some the second time it came out.

Got the Riri Woo lipstick, lipliner, lipglass and the Nude lipstick, also got Bad Girl Gone Good blush which i loooooove!

The matte lipstick texture can be a bit drying if I don't wear lip balm first, and lips would start to flake. But the colour and matte texture is so amazing... looks good and stay put for few hours. Wish both these colours were permanent though!

Tips: Apply lipbalm before applying liner and lipstick to avoid flaking lips!

Favourites out of MAC collection

The lipsticks in this collection would have to be my favourite out of my entire MAC lipstick collection. I love the shades, the pigmentation, the matte finish and the longevity of the product. Aside from the packaging I was really drawn colours because they're bold shades that would look amazing on a lot of different skintones particularly those in the chocolate club.

You can't go wrong with rose gold packaging and I feel MAC really outdid themselves on this one. The entire bullet is in rose gold with scrawled pink writing of the collection name and Riri's famous "R". When you remove the lid it reveals that the lipstick is housed in a muted pink tube. The packaging is nothing short of luxurious and stands out amongst the sea of black.

The collection sold out within minutes in the States and little old Auckland wasn't too far behind. I bought my lipsticks from 3 different MAC stores in 3 different cities (crazy yes) Hamilton, Wellington and Auckland. I bought Riri Woo (rich blue-based red), Talk that Talk (deep burgundy plum) and Nude (medium dark brown). I can't stress how beautiful these colours are and I don't think the online swatches do them any justice.

Do I find them drying? But of course - they're matte :-) however I only find this to be true for Riri Woo and Talk that Talk. The formulas for these two shades are much more drying than the matte lipsticks in MAC's permanent range. They tend to tug and drag on my lips which can lead to patchy application. I find Nude to be relatively creamy for a matte and I think it would have been nice had they applied this formula to the other shades. The lipstick doesn't move around so I can get a good 5 hours before retouching. If these were part of the permanent range then I would definitely repurchase.

Tips: For these particular lipsticks I use a lip brush to layer on the product so I can achieve an even application.

I always wear a lip conditioner before and after wearing these matte lipsticks.

Pleasure Bomb

First of all, the packaging of this lipstick collection is amazing. It is what drew me in purchasing one. I limited myself to one but I seriously wanted to get all! The rose gold packaging was so pretty and the lipstick is also embossed with Riri.

I got the matte lipstick in Pleasure Bomb which is a bright pink shade. I love this shade and I've gotten compliments when I wear it. It is really bright though but I'm a lover of statement lips.

Because it is a matte finish, it is long lasting. It's also not too drying on me. I have Ruby Woo so I didn't pick up Riri Woo but the formula of Pleasure Bomb is less drying than that.

I would recommend this but unfortunately it was limited edition.

That Packaging though...

I will be honest I only brought this for the packaging. Holy Crap it is so beautiful I plan on buying a plastic Lipstick mould from tkb trading just so when my riri woo runs out i can just melt down another ruby woo or any other lipstick i want and put it back into the Limited edition packaging. I brought riri woo, its a very dry, hard to apply lipstick that will give you such a retro, old school pin up girl look. Its matte, its bright and its red. Im totally fine with retro matte formulas, yes they feel dry but they dont go anywhere, very rarely will i have to touch this up during the day, the packaging along is worth the price.

FAVOURITES!

I have all the shades, and they are my absolute favourites! I love Talk That Talk the most. RIRI Woo is an everyday red for me. I love the texture and formula of these retro matte lipsticks. I don't use the frost lipstick as much. But still its just as amazing!

Bright & Bold

I was lucky enough to get two of the shades from this collection and they are just the most beautiful sades I have ever own! I have Riri Woo and Pleasure Bomb! They are both Matte and they are long lasting on the lips. Some people will find the matte shades to be quite drying, but I have never had an issue with this. The texture is quite thick so a little will go along way. Riri woo is a stunning vintage pin up girl Red.Pleasure Bomb is the most amazing pink/red color and it is so bold it really dose stand out. The packaging is just stunning. its a rose gold and a pearl white and its one of Mac's best looks so far. You really cant go wrong with this collection.

Tips: Did you miss out? Here are some Dupes if you did. Mac Riri woo try Mac ruby Woo this is also a matte. Mac pleasure Bomb try a mix of Mac Russian Red & Mac Candy Yum Yum :)

Perfect shade

I have Ririwoo and it is the perfect red, it is a retro matte formula so VERY matte and a little drying but such amazing colour pay off and lasts for hours!

Tips: Put lipbalm on when you first start your makeup and then apply lipstick normally, it will glide on :)

Riri Woo

I have the Riri Woo shade and I absolutely love it. It is the perfect red. The only tiny thing is that it is quite drying, but I always use lip balm underneath. The packaging for this is super gorgeous with the rose gold. A must have collectors item.

RiRi Woo

Most beautiful red ever. Absolutely blown away. It's matte, but quite drying, yet still goes on quite smoothly. Probably one of my new favourite reds.

Tips: Use something to keep your lips moisturised because it is quite drying.

Chic-looking lipstick!

I got the matte red and it's beautiful. The shade itself is nothing special (there are a lot of reds out there after all) but true to MAC's other lipsticks it's beautiful on and feels good. The only bone to pick with it is that it is a bit drying so be sure to keep those lips moisturised or use a lip stain. Otherwise, really gorgeous packaging and a nice classic shade.
