Delicious sheer gloss

Let's start off by saying: I am not a big gloss fan. Most glosses I've used are sticky, they wear off, and the get all through my hair and on my clothing. But for $5 on sale (really $2.50 because it was buy one get one free) at postie plus, and being a L'Oreal product, I thought I'd try it. And I am happily surprised.

The colour I got was 300 (Juliet) which is a raspberry pink shade. The tube is very stylish, being silver, slightly longer than most lipsticks, with the shape tapering off on one end and a small section of see-through plastic so you can get a peek at the colour. I was expecting the brush to be attached to the long tapered end, but it actually screws out of the thickest end. The brush itself is quite short with a looped leaf-shape applicator.

The gloss: the colour showed up as darker and deeper on my lips than on my hand, mostly because it is a sheer gloss. It applies very nicely and is easy to spread around, not sticky at all. After a little bit of drying it does become tacky-textured, but only a little. And it wore well even after eating lunch. This is the effect I expect from a blotted lip lipstick (plus extra shine) rather than a gloss, so I really like it.

Milady Milady, Boysenberry kisses

First up I have to say that I love purple! but this isn't your ordinary purple, nor your ordinary stain nor gloss.

First impressions are a stylish and dainty tube that fits somewhat snug into ones hand... the colour looks reddish purple in the tube and the doe-foot applicator made me quiver in my boots... it is huge! The applicator is angled though which actually made it very easy to apply and covered my lips precisely.

It glides on like buttery gloss, and it does feel a little tacky to start but that settles and leaves a nice sheen to your lips. I like it best with two coats as the colour appears muted with one. the colour does develop more of a red tone on my lips... like a boysenberry has exploded on my lips... in fact it looks like I have bathes my lips in fresh juice (without the mess).

It feels light, luxurious and not as tacky as I had wondered about, it does transfer if eating/drinking/kissing etc (and hair does stick to it as well), but if I lick my lips I get a hint of berry flavour.

Lasting power of a stain and yet it comes off cleanly when you want it to. It doesn't bleed out from the lips at all.

I love wearing this lip shine, it stands out and I have had a number of compliments and conversations started because of this lip product.

Tips: You will need to reapply to keep the colour vibrant (especially after eating etc), and the more you apply the more purple it becomes.

Interesting product, wonderful colour

I am using Bonnie shade 501, a dark reddish terracotta.

From the outset I must say that I love the texture of the product, the colour, and the shine. Even the fragrance is kind of nice.

The first time I used it I found that the stain concentrated on the dry part in the middle of my lips, making it look a little like I had bitten my lip, so I had to keep replenishing it to hide the darker part. Perhaps this was due to my inexperience with stains or lack of exfoliation.

The other thing I am not yet sold on is the fact that it seemed to gather in the creases of my lips, and tried to bleed around the edges. The next time I wear this will be with a clear lip liner.

Due to the beautiful colour and shine, I do recommend this to others, but it is definitely a high maintenance product.

Long lasting

We sell this at work and I have had my eye on one for ages. They are so great looking. The gorgeous gold tube with a peep hole to see your colour is quite a unique feature. It has a sponge like applicator which is nicely shaped for your lips. The product itself goes on evenly and smoothly and there is a good amount of gloss. The colour is like a stain and really stays on for ages. I found I touched up just after lunch.

The really awesome thing was a customer came in and loved what I was wearing and bought the same one! A huge compliment. She went away happy and I was wrapped as well.

Not Impressed - 102 Romy

I bought this recently when coming through duty free in Australia as they had 50% off all L'Oreal products. I had been wanting to try this product for a long time as I had heard it was a dupe for the YSL Rouge Volupte Glossy Stains but at a fraction of the price. I really hope it isn't a dupe as I'm not a huge fan. I picked up the shade 102 Romy which looks in the packaging looks like a bright pink with a subtle silver shimmer to it.

The packaging is lovely. A thin long tube in gold that gets skinnier at one end. A small clear part that shows the colour through it which I think is great. Once opened there is a large doe foot applicator that kind of has a dip in it so it holds more product. They really did a great job with the packaging.

Unfortunately the product itself let me down. As I pass this over my lips I wait for some colour to be there, and it isn't. It gives an extremely light wash of colour over the lips. It smells lovely and somewhat fruity. It feels comfortable on the lips. It does last a while but I found it fades in the middle, meaning I still have to reapply. It does leave a bit of a gloss on the lips but not much.

It might just be this shade is a bit of a dud but I won't be purchasing more.

Not a stain, not a gloss

At first I thought I really wouldn't like this product too much but I love them, I have three so far and the formula is amazing and it smells super great. I'm really not a fan of sticky lip products which is why I thought I would't like this one. But this goes on kinda like water? It's really thin but super pigmented. I love the colour range too, they have heaps of colours that are bright and great for spring and summer. Unlike a lot of other lip products, these fade really nicely, since its like a stain, once the gloss is gone, it leaves the colour on your lips.

Tips: I apply one coat then blot with a tissue then apply again. You can wear it matte or glossy

Long lasting gloss

I really enjoy using my L'Oreal Shine Caresse, the gloss lasts for such a long time and the colour is bright and beautiful. When the gloss does eventually wear off, the colour remains for a while afterwards. The packaging is sleek and attractive, and I love the applicator as it is so easy to use and get an even edge and defined point on the top lip. Big fan of this one!

Tips: Test the colour on you before you buy - they come out quite different on the lip to how they look in the packaging.

Glossy, kissable lips

This little L'oreal beauty caught my eye when I was out shopping. I'm a big fan of Loreal makeup, as I find most L'oreal products to be excellent quality at a reasonable price.

What attracted me to this product first of all was the glamourous packaging. In a modern shaped tube, it is covered in gold and there's a small panel that reveals the lip colour. In my instance it's the beautiful, pinkish -reddish colour 'princess'. So pretty and feminine!

The packaging looks high end and it's great to take with you on a night out. Getting this out of your bag you will be the envy of your friends!

The wand is a perfect shape and makes application of the formula easy. The wand is good quality and feels lovely on my sensitive lips.

The formula is beautiful, it glides over your lips and gives them much needed moisture. The lovely, pigmented colour is long wearing, and can last quite a few hours.

After the glossiness wears off, you can still see the slight lipstain which enhances your natural lip colour. This lip colour is non-sticky, which is a definite plus for me.

The formula is build-able, so for everyday wear I just tend to use one layer. But if you are going out for a night out and want a more intense look, just put more layers on.

My lips tend to be dry and sensitive, so some lip products just don't work for me. However, this is little beauty is great for my lips, and they feel hydrated and soft after using this.

I love that this is both a lip stain and a gloss, its different to my other lip products I have. L'oreal have made yet another winner here!

I would definitely recommend this to any ladies with dry lips like me. I'm very keen to get more colours in the range soon!

Tips: At my local pharmacy they have frequent deals on L'oreal, such as buy two get one free. Keep an eye out for sales!

Great Gloss

I picked two of these up at a Kmart sale merely for the fact that they looked pretty - just like the YSL glossy stains!

I am glad I purchased these. I have the shades '200 Princess' and '300 Juliet'. They are both gorgeous colours with a decent colour pay off for a gloss. I use them on their own sometimes, but do find they are a little sheerer when worn alone. They do, however, look fab over a lip liner or lipstick.

These glosses are long wearing, which is typical of a 'stain' type formula. They are a little sticky, but nothing I find overly annoying.

I love the packaging - they look so luxurious and expensive. The applicator wand is nice and easy to use. I also like how you can see the colour through the middle part of the tube - definitely a plus!

I haven't been reaching for these as often as I should, so this has reminded me to get them out again. Overall, I really like these glosses and would recommend to a friend.

Gloss I get heaps of comments about

I bought this on a whim when Farmer's had a special offer on L'oreal and I am so glad that I did. I got the color called 'Princess' and it's a really lovely pink-red-orange color. I get comments everytime I wear it and what a pretty color it is. The packaging feels a little decadent and the wand is easy to use. I love this gloss and will definitely replace it once I've used it all.
