Private Party is one of my favourite shades MAC has come out with. It's not a unique shade but it's definitely great to have in the collection because it's perfect for everyday wear. It was one of the easiest shades for me to pan but also one of the most *cue violins* heartbreaking because it's limited edition.
It's a plum mauve shade with a satin finish and against my chocolate skin tone the colour is true to pan. The packaging is exactly the same as the standard MAC packaging other than the gold detailing. It doesn't look like much but on close inspection it really stands out.
It goes on evenly and mostly opaque but you can sheer it out if desired. On my lips it reminds me of NYX Tea Rose but less creamy, a smidgen darker and slightly more cool toned. It has a slight sheen to it which I prefer to blot away (matte finish all the way!).
I don't notice too much feathering and it wears well for over 4 hours particularly over lip liner. Unlike other satin finishes by MAC, I don't find it overly drying. I was lucky enough to get a hold of one of my friend's back ups so I can enjoy it for a little while longer.
I am a sucker for cute packagings and the MAC Devine Night lipsticks really impressed me with their black and gold packaging. I have all 5 lipsticks but till now have only tried Flair for Finery, I love it! It's a very pretty nude-ish pink, easy to apply and last up to 4 hours (without eating). The price thou is a bit ridiculous if purchase from over the counter in NZ. I bought my MAC Devine Night lipstick collection from trademe user Shezza108, highly recommended seller.
