This mascara is probably a great “first timer” mascara. It can be applied lightly so it’s not too KAPOW. The curl does not hold well unfortunately. It does define the lashes but don’t apply a second coat or clumps will be looming!

I really liked the look of the tube and the brush of this mascara. My lashes are more defined but clumping can still occur especially with more than 1 layer of mascara. The mascara is easy to apply and not too runny. Generally, a good beginner's mascara, nothing fancy.
Picked this up while looking for a new mascara with a wow factor, after reading reviews on here.
the tube is cute and pink so appealing,it's about 13cm long so fits into your make up bag easily. however the brush is so flimsy and moves back and forth a lot when applying product. the actual brush itself is a rubber spikey style rather than bristles.
the texture of the product is quite rubbery and I get "threads" when pulling out of the container, once applied on my lashes it resembles a tube but I really don't like, it also had a lot of fall out and left me looking like a panda. I did like that the black is very black-so this was a bonus however it doesn't layer well and you end up with clumpy lashes
it's supposed to be a volume mascara however it didn't do anything a curler couldn't do.
the scent smells almost like hair dye which was a turn off.
Tips: use for an everyday light look.
I totes love this Mascara. I have straight long lashes so I always want a mascara that can curl and make my lashes really stand out. So affordable and you can buy at any supermarket or Pharmacy. .
I loved this mascara for the design of the wand. The formula itself was also good but didn't hold my eye lashes in a flick all day.
The wand is great if you're wanting to separate lashes. Fans them out and makes them look thicker. I have straight lashes and I did find that it could not hold the curl very well during the day.
This mascara is amazing at avoiding clumps and separating, tinting and defining lashes. I hate clumps so this is my go-to mascara.
I'm quite picky about my mascaras, so always a bit dubious trying a new one. This just happened to be $3 on clearance at my local chemist so had to buy it!
I love the metallic pink tube for a start, looks cool and attracted me to it straight away. It stated Define-A- Lash on the tube so assumed it would define and separate lashes. Plus the fact it is waterproof which is very important to me as I have a tendancy to waaaa over stupid things like TV ads and anything remotely soppy, so need waterproof :)
The brush is not the kind of brush I would normally use, it doesn't have bristles as such and the rubber "bristles" are very short so was a bit apprehensive when I pulled the brush out.
Now I have to be honest and say that when I used it for the first few times I didn't really like it - that being said I don't really love "new'" mascara's as they tend to be a bit runny? Probably not the right word, but I find mascaras work better once they are a little older. Now that I have used it a bit I really like it - it is a great consistency, it doesn't clump and it really does define my lashes. It elongates them and makes them look very long, it also comes off well with a decent remover.
All in all I really like this mascara and I would definitely buy it again, not sure whether I would pay full price (I'm a tight ar#$e though hehe).
Tips: Persevere with it if you are like me and find it's not great the first few times you use it, it gets better :)
Maybelline Define-a-lash is probably one of the best mascaras I have ever used. The brush applies so well , no clumps ect. Usually get them cheaper than $24.95 in the shop.
Does the job no curling or lengthening action however. Just a run of the mill straightforward mascara. Nothing very special. Good for a first mascara.
