Maybelline Define-a-lash Mascara Review

When I was younger I remember being In love with this mascara. It was my first type of mascara with this type of brush,and I was amazed/ In love. Now skip to 5 years later and I found this mascara again at a make up sale for only $8!!! Oh my gosh I was so excited my old love that I had forgotten about was so cheap.

Well my first time using it all it did was clump my eyelashes together! It look so bad, it was a clumpy mess! For the life of me I could not get them to unclump and I had to go to work like this :( . When I got home I went to take it off and what a nightmare. The mascara would not budge and was not coming off. I know that waterproof are a lot harder to get off, but my make up remover can pretty much get anything off in a wipe or too, but not this!!! I would of spent a good 20 mins trying to get it off and still woke up with black around my eye's.

This is not what I remember 5 years ago, but this mascara is no longer for me and in the bin it will be going :(

I have returned to this (well the waterproof one in the green metallic case) in this range and I'm pretty happy with it. One of the main reasons is it doesn't irritate my eyes and they are super sensitive. I only have to get a little biftof anything in my eye(s) and it stings and waters for half an hour. This is reasonably priced and does what it says it will. If I'm honest, I get more than you're meant to - as I dont replace them as often as I guess you are supossed to and I can get away with it. I like the brush, it is small and light and can get in the corners to get those wee lashes in the corner without getting your face. Stays on your lashes pretty well, it seperates your lashes well, but you would have to put a few coats on to have them 'stand out'. I'm happy with a light mascara and you only get panda eyes if you neglet to take it off before bed (which of course you SHOULD remove your eye make up) Being Ophthalmologist tested was a big bonus and the wand is perfect! Much less irritated eyes (Phew)

I received this as a free gift off ilovebeauty.com and at first i can't say i was that impressed with it. The reason why was the brush. For some reason the brush wasn't working for me and i was finding that i was getting mascara all around my eyes and it was hardly applying any mascara at all to my lashes.

After playing around with it for a few weeks I finally learnt how to get the best results and i absolutely love it now! If you are like me and like a decent couple of coats on your lashes then you will have to be patient as it does take a few extra minutes to build it up but you won't regret it.

This mascara separates my lashes perfectly and lengthens them without leaving any clumps! Definitely is true to its name. Also a perfect lower lash mascara a it doesn't look too heavy.

At first i did not like this product but after not using it for a long time i came back to it and started liking it! Defined my lashes just how i like them :)

I received this from i love beauty as a free gift on facebook! I loved the formula, it was not clumpy in any way! The wand was really nice and thing, which made it simple to apply to the top and the bottom lashes! It gave nice length to my lashes, although it was not very voluminous which was a bit disappointing :/ I love this product for a every day coat of mascara!

I am very fussy when it comes to my lashes. I love them to look long yet thick and have volume to them minus the horrible clumping look ofcourse and this product certainly delivers! The brush is great, it creates volume and length without any clumping due to the design of the mascara wand. After 2-3 coats my lashes look amazing and have the volume and length I crave! Whats great is they stay in put and last all day, no flaking like some mascaras do so definitely impressed

This mascara is the best thing I have ever found to separate those clingy lashes that don't want to separate.

This is my favourite mascara. I've tried a lot of different ones in my time, high-end and low-end, but this one (which I discovered in 2013) is my absolute favourite at the moment. Awesome length and body without clumping.

this was good for my lashes altho when it was first used i found it went on quite heavy onto my lashes, once i had used it for awhile it wasnt as heavy, it didnt smudge which is good, and washed off easily. it did make my lashes look lovely and long. i would use it again, just remove some of the excess stuff when i first use it.
