Great Colours and Price

I love how you can find these pretty cheap quite often. Theres a huge range of colours. the formula is good, not amazing or comparable to high end ranges, and can be a little runny (atleast 2 coats).

I personally enjoy changing my nail colours regularly so the longevity isn't a big deal for me. These ill probably leave on for a week.

TEN DAYS ??

Ten whole days is a long time in nail polish days! Although this product is pretty good it definitely does not last ten days with or without the Revlon base and top coats! I do like the Revlon nail polishes but its really doesn't last that long at all.. It probably would if you were a princess and had nothing to all day :)

The colors are very nice but for me some of the colours do come out a little bit streaky because of the size of the brush.. I am not a fan of the brush.. If it had a better brush it would be much easier to apply and I would give this more stars!

Consistent, reliable nail colour

I've used more of these over the years, but reviewing based on the ones currently in my possession.

185 Sweet Tart - this is a cheerful candy pink.

370 Not So Blueberry - this is one of their scented polishes, and an amazing cornflower blue/purple with a bit of subtle silver sparkle - probably my current fave polish in my collection.

940 Facets of Fuschia - Metallic fuschia glitter flakes in an opaque black base

Brilliant Bordeaux - small purple glitter strands and larger holographic glitter strands in an opaque black base.

Night Spell - fine silver glitter in a thicker black base

Revlon polishes come in a range of shades and styles, which they are constantly adding to. Price ranges vary wildly depending on where you buy them from, and whether what you're buying is a classic, a seasonal trend or a discontinued colour.

Application varies slightly - I find the brushes for these polishes (which come in circular glass bottles that are wider at the base, and feature a black cap with a gold band) are on the thinner side, and that can make it a little harder to get a good stroke happening. With the block colours, two coats are necessary but with the glitters it's more like 3 (apart from Night Spell, because the base colour is thicker) - you do have to experiment to get the look you're after.

I find that Revlon polishes do smell intensely of the sharp nail polish scent - apart from the scented version, which is a curiously pleasant berry fragance.

Longevity is decent, especially with a good quality top coat on top. Interestingly I've never used a Revlon Top Coat - would be interested to see how it compares.

These polishes often get noticed when I wear them - but I do choose more out there shades than some!

The block colours come off easily, but the glitter is hard work, and I tend not to wear it often because of that - though I adore it when I do wear it.

Definitely will buy again (I never buy them full price though) and have definitely recommended them to others before.

Good, reliable, consistently high quality polishes from a trustworthy brand

Glitters Good, Others Okay

I have had gazillions of Revlon polishes in my lifetime, and I have drawn up pretty good barriers with what I buy and what I don't anymore.

The bottles are all the same, a triangular-ish bottle made of glass, very heavy (well, a lot heavier than your usual polish) and very sturdy too. The brush is perfect. Not too thick, not too thin, quite long.

The formula of the non-glitter polishes and the glitter polishes are much the same. It glides on smoothly, dries quick enough and doesn't streak (too much on some pastels/lighter colours).

The glitter however lasts about twice as long as a normal polish before it chips. A normal polish would last about 4 days on me before it chips, usually starting anywhere on my nail and not necessarily the tips. It is shiny - and stays shiny for quite some time during your manicure. I usually take it off once it starts to chip so for me the shine doesn't go away - but it is lost after a couple of more days.

Because of this I don't really wear anything else than glitter polish in Revlon. I also use another top coat with it, or gel over it to lengthen my manicure's life.

Plum Seduction

I can't for the life of me remember how I obtained this color, but I'm glad it's in my arsenal now. I have the color 'Plum Seduction' 917. It is a gorgeous hot pink, only slightly darker. I also don't remember seeing any plums this color.

The brush is one of the old school ones, a triangle shape but a circle. I prefer the flat brushes, but this one does the job well enough. For an opaque color you need more than two coats, and thankfully, the shade you see in the bottle is the shade that gets painted onto your nail! The formula is slightly runnier than your average nail polish, but that's probably a good thing in the long run as it won't get clumpy and dry out as quick.

I applied it last Tuesday afternoon, so it has been a week on my nail (I only painted one. In hindsight I should've done a hand). The chipping was minimal and by Friday or Saturday it chipped down the edge of my nails and it has only faded at the top. This was without a base and top coat. I like this polish. Depending on the price, if I found it again, I might just be tempted to buy more shades!

211 Charming

I bought this on sale from Arthur Barnett here in Dunedin as they often have beauty sales and I was able to pick it up for less than $10. The shade is a beautiful pale pastel purple which is perfect for me as in Summer I wear nearly all pastels.

I love the bottle, it looks like the Barbie nail polish bottles from when I was a kid with the angled bottom and the black lid. The brush is a standard round one but quite skinny. It also flattens out nicely on the nail when you are using it.

Unfortunately due to the light colour of the polish it does take a good 3 coats to get this opaque. I'm OK with that though because the layers do dry quite quickly. Also once dry this polish lasts me around 4 to 5 days.

Writing this I'm not sure why I haven't bought more of these!

Have been using for years

I have used revlon nail polishes for years. I remember my first, it was a lovely cherry red colour, gorgeous! Anyway right now is not a time to go down memory lane!

These polishes do require a few coats to get the rich colour in the bottle, but it is worth it! It applies evenly and cleanly with not a brush stroke in sight, I dont know about you but brush strokes are my pet peeve when it comes to nail polish!

I find I can get two days without chipping with no base or top coat, I can get about 5 days with a top coat which is usually about the time a nail colour starts to bore me and gets changed

I like the brush and the formula is a little runny, but they do last a long time before getting gluggy and unusable,BONUS!!

Is this the best nail polish out there? No, it is not Is this the worst nail polish out there? No, it is not

Personally I like them, and will continue to use them as I have for years

Purplex

I brought this nail polish due to the reputation of the brand.

The product does go on very easily and covers well, however, it is very runny and needs about three coats to look good.

The purple colour is a bit lacking for me, it is more of a dull purple colour compared to what it looks like in the bottle. I wish it was true to the bottle colour as this would be amazing.

It does tend to chip after about three days of wear.

Tips: Buff your nails really well and do not apply a base coat, but do apply a couple of top coats, to help it last for about five days without chipping

Too runny and never dries.

I have this polish in the shades Lilac Pastelle, Sheer Petal and Hot Cocoa. Both Lilac Pastelle and Sheer Petal are absolutely stunning, which is probably the only pro for me. I was really disappointed when I opened these because the formula is incredibly runny and when applied to the nail, it runs off the nail and drips everywhere. I've also been unable to get this polish to dry at all, even when doing one thin coat, it stays wet and sticky all day. I still have been unable to use Sheer Petal but after about 6 months Lilac Pastelle thickened up and now it is finally usable. I really like Revlon as I brand so I am hoping that my polishes were just duds. The saving grace is the shade Hot Cocoa. It's about 6 or 7 years old, and it's still going strong, also the formula is perfect; it isn't thick and gloopy and it isn't too runny. It dries beautifully and is a gorgeous chocolate shade, which makes me wonder if Revlon have drastically changed their product formula's as my new Revlon polishes are awful.

Tips: Open it up, seal it and leave it for a few months to thicken up, as the formula is quite runny.

Revlon Nail Enamel

Chip resistant you say?

I say very easily chipped.

I have a few bottles of Revlon Nail Polish.....and they look great for one day..then look awful.

Chips every where :(

I have been reapplying daily, which sucks cause it says this doesn't happen.

But it does!

I love to wear Polish but...don't love the chipping. It makes me NOT want to wear Polish.

However the pigment of colour is great and the ease of application is also great.

The colour range is good, could be a bit better with more sparkles , maybe a matte too...

I am really looking forward to trying their Gel Envy Range :)
