LA Colors Nail Polish Review

I bought a bunch of these at my local pharmacy as they were only $5. There was a huge shade range and pictures of each colour on the display which I appreciated as you can’t always imagine what they’re going to look like on the nails. I’m currently wearing a very holographic glittery one well that’s how it looks in the bottle. Unfortunately I had to do 3 coats to get a light smattering of glitter and even after sealing it with a gel top coat it’s barely visible. The brush is a good size and the formula applies well but in future I would only apply this over a darker shade so that the sparkles are visible. The polish hasn’t chipped but has faded off after a couple of days (if that makes sense). This might be good for someone wanting something special for a night out but for someone like me that only does their nails once a week it’s not ideal.

Now, I am always down for a good deal and am happy to try anything (especially when they don't break the bank). So I gave this nail polish a try - mainly because I was looking for a cool blue.

They have a great range of colours which all look fantastic in the bottle and really catch the eye. But sadly that is where it ends for me. A number of coats are needed to get to the desired colour and it took a while to dry for me. It chipped really quickly and simply did not last anywhere near doable for me (and I know I am terrible at chipping nail polish, but this was pretty quick even for me). So, this is more of a one-off occasion wear for me - because I know I will be lucky if it lasts a day without chipping.

So, sure I would buy again for a one-off need and for a specific colour - because the price point is brilliant for that. But over and beyond that it is sadly a no for me.

I was given a 5 pack of LA colors polish as a secret santa present and I was stoked! They were all at the pearl/natural end of the spectrum colour wise which kind of go with everything. I found that they worked well even with only one coat (without base or top coat) and dried pretty quick. They obviously aren't going to be as good as a premium brand but I thought they were great fun for what they were.

I often grab nail polish to add to my collection. I have 3 of these, a purple, blue and silver. They come in a sturdy glass bottle and they have a lot of colours to choose from.

It is quite a thin consistency which I don't really mind, I find they dry quite quickly. I like to do 2 coats so I get a nice colour. It is quite pigmented and I really like the end result.

However the only negative for me is they chip so easily! For me I can only get 1 day, 2 maybe at a stretch of them looking great. I hate having chipped nails. If they don't look perfect it just makes me want to remove it. So for me they are great if you want to wear for an event or something that is not longer than a day.

A cheap product that does everything you don't want a nail polish to do. Uneven coverage, needs multiple layers to give any color pay off. Feels gluggy. Just noooo... I threw them out.

These are really cheap nail polishes so you wouldn’t expect them to be the best. They’re fun, come in a lot of colours, and easy to apply. They’re not super long lasting and chip within a day or two if you’re going to be washing dishes or cleaning, kind of thing. Definitely a lot of fun to play around with nail art, and they do dry quickly if you apply a nice thin layer at a time.

I needed a colour quickly and for one event.. a colour I would usually never wear so I didn’t want to spend a lot. I’m glad I didn’t spend a lot either.

I think in future I would probably spend extra for a decent brand that lasts.. in a colour I would use more than once just as a gamble. As this didn’t meet my expectations.

It took ages to dry which was a nuisance as I just thought I could throw it on as per usual, but this is not like that.. it’s more apply and watch a movie kind of wait.

It’s soft when applied and on so doesn’t feel fully dry ever. Which means if knocked or scratched it looks damaged easily. So it definitely isn’t long lasting at all. I couldn’t wait to get this off and to get it off I only had to scratch it off.

It’s easily applied though with a nice brush and bottle shape. It definitely needs a few coats of colour to get the desired colour otherwise it’s quite faint on the nail. Quite scented also - it’s a really strong smell compared to my Essie polishes so I am comparing it to that.

I personally would rather pick an Essie polish on sale over this again it’s not worth the mess of it not drying or hassle with repairing chips sadly. I would love a cheapie that lasted a few days not chipping but this was not like that for me sadly.

I absolutely love love love the colours of LA Colours nail polishes and I really wanted them to be amazing. Unfortunately the staying power of these polishes is virtually non existent.

The brush is perfect - right size and thickness for applying the polish, glides on really well and looks beautiful. It also dries pretty quickly which is great if you don't have heaps of time on your hands waiting for your nails to dry.

Sadly those are the only positives because although they are beautiful they just chip a few hours after application and it doesn't matter how many coats you apply. I've also tried a top coat to see if it will make it last longer but alas it just chips.

I really hope that one day they improve their formula because they are onto to something with these colours. Such a shame.

These nail polish were $5 at The Warehouse and there were so many pretty colours. I bought few of these colours in my early 20's when I couldn't afford many expensive things, but I still liked painting my nails. The nail polish looked so cute in their glass bottles.

I applied one cost of nail polish to my nails and it was very opaque. I was expected a $2 shop type of quality, but it was much better than that. I didn't find it to be quick drying though. It lasted on for a day or two without chipping. But they were alright for the price and probably do the job for the day.

I won't be using these again though, but I will buy them for kids to use. I think they will have more fun with it than me and I don't have to waste it on expensive nail polish.

I have a beautiful irridecent pink shade from this brand I have had for several years now and it is still fine. I like it because it is sheer and pearly it looks nice on its own or because it is sheer it looks really nice over the top of another nail polish. I like how the one I have has not gone all thick icky and the brush is decent making it apply fairly nicely and simply. I got it from Shop miss A online years ago from memory and they had a huge selection to choose from at the time. I feel like this does live up to its claim and us decent quality and lasts. It is worth looking into if you want to fine something different or a specific shade because of the vast collection. Better than other cheap nail varnishes out there and affordable.
