I was lucky enough to be picked by BR to review this product. I am really into skincare. It's the foundation everything else is built on and I had been curious to see how something like the Braun FaceSpa Pro would affect my skin. My skin is sensitive, so I need to be careful product wise but I do have combination skin. I generally have some degree of an oily t-zone. I wax my upper lip with facial wax strips every six weeks or so and usually get a few reaction pimples a few days later.
When the FaceSpa Pro arrived it came in a nice looking box and was well packed. The device was presented well and I was pleased to see it came with a nice soft pouch to put it in for travel. The charging cable that comes with it is very long so you're not restricted by that when you charge it. It also come with a stand for you to put it on when you're not using it. I like that it can stand to dry and isn't just rolling around on the vanity. The three heads are very easy to change over. The device itself looks really nice and is finished well. I charged this for a few hours the day it arrived and the charge lasted the entire review period of two weeks, being used multiple times a day, without having to be recharged. I have to say I was impressed by this.
When the FaceSpa Pro arrive the first thing I tried out was the epilation head. It stung like a swarm of tiny bees were stinging my face but as soon as the hairs were gone it stopped hurting. The area of my face that I epilate is so small that it took no more than a minute. It's bearable but more importantly very effective. I easily got all of the hairs I needed to gone and the best bit was I had no reaction pimples! I also like that it's more environmentally friendly. I won't be throwing out wax strips, I can get better results with this and no rubbish as a result.
I had got into the habit of cleansing my skin in the morning and removing my makeup in the evening with a makeup wipe and then spraying some toner on afterwards. A couple of hours later I would apply lash serum, face serum and night cream but not anymore! The cleansing head does a fantastic job. I am using Essano cleanser at the moment. I wet the brush head, wet my face, put the cleanser on the brush head, smear some on each of the three zones and then get to work. The device goes for 20 seconds, which is the recommended amount of time you use it on one area of your face, and then move onto the next area. You can vary the speed between fast and slow depending on what you feel like. I have now got into the habit of cleansing my skin in the afternoon when I remove my makeup and (continued in Tips field)
I could barely contain my excitement when this arrived at my house. The Facespa Pro is truly one elegant face tool with its sleek, streamlined design and rose gold lid it makes for the best at home face spa experience ever! I'm getting excited and I haven't even got to the best parts yet! It's fairly light weight so portable enough to carry in your handbag.
Using it for the first time was easy I just followed the directions and charged it for an hour and it was good to go with about 45mins of battery life. That doesn’t seem like a very long time but when you are only using it for a few minutes a day it's long enough. It comes with three attachments, the cleaning brush, micro vibration head and the epilation head. It also comes with a stand and handy carry pouch too. I found all the attachments sturdy and easy to take on and off. The control button has different purposes depending on which attachment is being used. It changes the direction the epilation head rotates or it slows down/speeds up the cleansing brush/micro-vibration head.
White, black short,long, thick or thin the epilation head removes it all, it's amazing! It got rid of some dark stubborn stray chin hairs with ease. I also used it on my upper lip to remove finer, lighter hair and underneath my eyebrows too. I won’t lie there was some discomfort around the upper lip and some irritation and redness afterwards but it got rid of the hair down to the root and it hasn’t grown back nearly 2 weeks on. It's easy to clean thanks to the black brush which is supplied.
The cleansing brush can be used wet or dry. I found it interesting that it only vibrates so you must do circular motion when cleansing your face for it to work well. I found this cleaning brush excellent, the bristles are super soft on my delicate, sensitive skin it leaves my skin soft and smooth to touch and there was no reaction or increased facial sensitivity. I have been using it about 3-4 times a week to give my skin a much deeper clean especially after I have worn make-up but it can be used every day. I found the bristles got stained with make-up if you don't remove beforehand. A neat feature is the button at the top of the cleansing brush that removes the brush face so you can easily give it a good clean.
The micro-vibration head is one seriously cool feature. The metal end is flexible and vibrates when using. I am currently using it with a brightening cream as I have pigmentation spots so hopefully this will help speed up the results. I did notice the metal end heats up slightly when using which I guess helps to really penetrate the cream into the skin. My skin is so soft and literally glows after using this!
While I have only been using the Facespa Pro for a few weeks my skin is definitely thanking me for it. I can't find anything negative to say about the Facespa pro I absolutely love it. Thank-you for the opportunity to experience it's magic.
Tips: Remember to hold skin taut and use epilation head in direction of hair growth and be careful around your eyebrows as this will remove anything in it way. The attachments also pulsates when 20secs is up so you know when to move onto the next section of your face.
