CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser

I wasn't super impressed with this one. I love love love the other foaming but hydrating one for normal to oily skin. I have combination skin BAD (constant breakouts in certain areas and extreme dryness in others) and I was hoping this would help even that out but if anything it made my dry patches a little drier. Which makes sense if it's for the more oily skin I suppose but didn't notice any change in my breakouts.

I've used 3/4 of a bottle of this product and can definitely say it does what it claims to do. It leaves my skin feeling smoother , has helped to reduce the size of my pores (also using other things along with this, so I'd say the combo has been great). The only thing experienced was that it would sting slightly if I didn't keep working it into my skin... like if I moved from face to décolletage for any more than 15 seconds, it would start stinging my face, but that would subside again as I began working it into my face again. I do have sensitive skin, so the stinging is something I've kind of come to expect from some cleansers, but this was an interesting finding nonetheless. It hasn't caused any "burns" or adverse reactions though. This hasn't put me off, I'm not just conscious to wash off my face before washing other areas.

I have been using this product for about a month now in conjunction with another cleanser (avene clearance). I haven't noticed a difference as of yet maybe a little bit of breakouts around my chin. But I'm thinking this may just be a part of the purging stage as it contains Actives. Im hoping with more time it will clear my skin as I had really high hopes for this product.

At the Moment I'm only using this product 3 times a week.

I have combination skin and this product was amazing. As a result I got a lot of mila. This definitely helped reduce the mila. My skin has been extremely dry since it’s winter now so this product definitely helped.

This product is amazing! I wouldn’t use it on my face every day as it is a bit too harsh for my sensitive skin but is perfect for back acne and strawberry legs and those bumps on your upper arms! Love it for those and when I feel I need a little extra exfoliation on my face

I picked this up from the vault, thanks BR! I have used a few other Cerave products and loved them so I had high hopes for this....unfortunately it just didn't agree with my skin.

It comes in a plastic bottle with a pump, it is easy to dispense the right amount which is awesome as it means no wastage. It is a clear liquid with no fragrance but I can still detect a slightly off putting scent.

It lathers up slightly and cleanses well however it makes my eyes sting nearly every single time I use it even though I am very careful. It's very odd! I also find it dries my face out and makes it feel tight, a feeling I absolutely hate.

So for me this did not suit my skin and I had to discontinue using it. I will pass it on to a friend and see how they like it.

Have been using the CeraVe smoothing cleanser for a couple of months now, while I am on a low dose of Oratane. This cleanser foams to a gentle lather, and rinses clean, no residue. While my skin is quite dry a the moment due to medication, this doesn't strip my skin or make it uncomfortably tight. My skin can be on the sensitive side too, and I have had no issues so far.
