I bought a mini (14g) tube of this hand cream from Countdown the other day, thinking that it would be great to keep in my handbag for when I'm out and about and my hands feel really dry. I used some the other night, as I was curious and wanted to see if it would be worth stashing in my bag. Needless to say, I'll be putting this next to my bed and using it before bed only!
I was very disappointed. I was expecting a thick, rich hand lotion rather than something that resembled vaseline! The clear gel-like cream is easily squeezed out the tube and a small pea-sized amount is sufficient to moisturise both hands (and elbows). When I rubbed my hands together, the clear gel turned into a white cream that was quickly absorbed into the skin leaving a matte, almost silicone-like feel, which wasn't bad. But then the clammy hands began. I have bad circulation and very cold hands most of the time and this cream made my palms sweat which left them feeling clammy and the almost pleasant matte silicone-like feel of the cream instantly turned sticky. Ugh!
The scent of the cream is not bad and the cream really does help alleviate dry skin but the clamminess and stickiness is enough to put me off. I definitely won't be putting a tube of this in my handbag or travel bag and will rather use this at night only, right before I climb into bed so that I don't have to worry about having clammy sticky hands.
I found this formula to be very thick so using a little went a long way. However I did not like how difficult it was to distribute through my hands. I felt that it did not absorb fast enough and left my hands feeling greasy for quite awhile after I had applied it.
So I decided to use it on just my cuticles instead as they were very dry, and it worked pretty well and kept them moisturised. Also, I wasn't too fond of the smell.
Overall, I personally would not re-purchase it.
