Disaster

This product comes in a lovely package and you would imagine that the concealer would be magic. The concealer is so cakey, it doesn’t matter how much you blend or the quality of your brushes. It creases and cracks and ruins the look of your make up. The coverage is terrible. You might as well just add more foundation to attempt to cover your pimples- it would do the same job as this concealer. I hated the applicator, you twist it to dispense the product however you are constantly twisting then then pen releases too much concealer. I found this product did not highlight at all.

Tips: Do not purchase!

Waste of beautiful packaging

I bought the medium shade from Farmers for roughly $20+ while it was on sale and I’m thankful I didn’t pay full price because the performance is shocking. The rose gold pink-like packaging is truly stunning which could easily rival its expensive relative in the same product group YSL Touche Éclat Highlighter & Concealer pen.

It’s a twist pen and the product is easily dispensed. It has a crème-like consistency which once blended into the skin you can tell it’s quite thin. When I swatched this on my hand at Farmers it appeared to have a salmon undertone which works well for my chocolate skin. However it translated quite differently once applied to the undereye area.

The salmon undertone has a very strong white base and on my skin it didn’t look highlighted at all but more so ashy. I set it the Marc Jacobs Instamarc filtering contour powder (the light shade) and was extremely annoyed to find that by morning tea time it had already creased and the product was clearly breaking away to the point I could see my bare skin underneath. I have tried a number of different primers and setting powders but nothing seems to keep this product in place.

I could have managed the ashiness (since some brands only seem to come out with limited shade selections) however the lack of performance is not worth repurchasing so even looking at the DARK option doesn't interest me.

Tips: To make this “work” for me I first apply YSL Touche Éclat (Sand) and over the bottom of the YSL, I apply L'Oreal Lumi (Medium) and then on the bottom of L'Oreal, I apply the LA Girl Pro Concealer. It gives a lovely gradient “highlight”. It’s a lot of effort but if you don’t like wasting product like myself then it’s worth the extra steps,

Not as great for fair skin

I was hoping this would be an awesome substitute to the YSL touche eclait however it didn't quite match up.

Packaging had me from first sight, it's slim shiny casing in rose gold and minimal labeling makes it look so sexy and elegant on my makeup table. With a firmly secure lid that snuggly fits so it won't come undone during travels. Under the lid there is a brush applicator that you twist the product up into, at first it took a lot of twists on the bottom of the case to get the product going but after that initial struggle it was easy going. The brush is thin and flexible enough to allow you to pop the concealer in positions you want to highlight with ease.

The formula is just right in terms of thickness, it doesn't run away too quickly and allows you to dab it into the areas without drying too quickly either. In a soft champagne hue the light version, which from the selection presented to me at my local Farmers was the lightest of the range, seemed to still be too dark for my skin and the champagne/peach hue was a good 2 tones darker than my actually foundation shade so it did look a little off until I muted it with setting powder, to which it then soften up but I wouldn't say it offered any highlighting properties to my face, perhaps I am just too pale to shine.

With all that being said it does well at concealing small blemishes and light dark circles, if you have a colour corrector under your foundation for dark circles adding this over the foundation acts as another barrier for the blue darkness to be covered by. Lasts all day too, without breaking up with the oils of my skin, or without sinking into my pores I am sure the setting powder I use helps this but it seems to hang around longer than other concealers I use.

Has good points and bad points, wouldn't recommend for those with lighter skin tones as it doesn't show up as a highlighting concealer.

Not Impressed

I am always looking for a good concealer, particularly for my dark undereye circles. Saw this on special and since L'Oreal is normally a good brand, decided to try it. The formula is very runny and thin and didn;t conceal my dark shadows very well. I found with the twisty applicator too much product came out and it was hard to control how much to put on. I would not repurchase this product.

Disappointed

I purchased this on the recommendation of the lady at the Farmer's counter, and I was extremely underwhelmed. It neither highlighted nor concealed and I found that it made my undereye are look strange, not cakey but it looked similar to how your undereyes appear when there is too much product. Definitely would not repurchase.

Kind of glad I didnt pay full price on this one

I have been eyeing this up for ages, with all the hype surrounding Touche Éclat and this product looking like a dupe. The packaging is a beautiful rose gold with a brush applicator and a base which you click and wind to get the product up to the bristles. The texture of this product is quite thin but creamy and relatively easy to blend. It does a fairly poor job at concealing my under eye darkness (and my under eyes are not even that bad). This is however in the lightest shade a little bit brightening on my fair skin which is not common. In my opinion this is the sort of product you would layer on top of a corrective undereye concealer to provide some highlighting under the eyes and across the top of the cheekbone. This product does have a little illumination/shimmer to it, and I have used it on top of my cheekbones instead of a proper highlighter on more natural subtle makeup days. If I was the type of person to wear tons of foundation, then concealer, then highlighting concealer (then contour, bronze etc etc) I would probably get a little more use out of this. Given that I prefer a more natural look on a day to day basis I don't think I would bother repurchasing this one, as its just another IMO unnecessary step in my makeup application.

Tips: If you really need coverage for your undereyes look elsewhere (Maybelline age rewind under-eye concealer is a goodie). If you want this as a highlighter apply in the usual highpoints on the face after foundation.

Underwhelmed

I was really excited to try this product - the packaging alone made me want to purchase. It feels luxurious like the YSL Touche Eclat. Unfortunately I was left disappointed, as this concealer is thin and inconsistent in application. I found it made little to no difference in highlighting or concealing, and getting enough product out to use was tricky with the twist applicator - I found myself twisting and turning but only getting a tiny amount.

I would not repurchase this at $32.99, and have found many products better at lower price points.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighting Concealer

I found this highlighting concealer to be quite a thin consistency. It was easy to apply as the applicator it had was sort of like a brush , I always got the right amount of product. I hate highlighting concealers where all the product runs out of the stick but because this one you twist the bottom and it comes out, one click is all i needed. I didn’t really notice a smell. Coverage wise I was so disappointed, I have dark under eye circles and it just did not cover them no matter what I did. I was so excited to use this product as quite a few youtubers reviewed it but it just did not work for me and didn’t do what I wanted it to do, conceal and highlight . Its expensive for the amount of product you get and I didn’t end up keeping it after it didn’t work for me the few times I used it. Packaging looks more like high end than drug store that was probably the thing I liked most about it. I was not happy with this product and will not be buying again or recommending to my friends.

Lumi Magique

I saw this being used by an online blogger and was really excited to purchase it. I found it to be quite pricy for the amount but it is beautiful packaging and looks good in my makeup case. But as we know, looks aren't everything... it just does not look right on me, it doesn't conceal, it doesn't blend in and it doesn't highlight... actually it looks like I've left a powdery substance on under eye. I have applied both before and after foundation, to see how it looked but I think it is better on a younger skin. For me, the best thing was he packaging and soft brush

Hides dark under eyes

I love the luxurious, shiny packaging, it definitley adds to the look of this product, it's super easy to find in my draw. Thin and sleek making it easy to travel with. The lid is very secure so it won't fall off in your bag. Firstly, this concealer doesn't have the highest coverage but still for a good job and looks super natural, easy to apply and blend out (without losing much coverage) it doesn't dry/ crease under my eyes and it really does brighten them, shade number one even suits my super pale skin! The applicator brush is soft and easy to use. It lasts all day and looks great on the skin :) the downside is the expense of this product, although it is a good product I think that it is a little overpriced especially with how much product is in the tube
