MAC Matchmaster Foundation Review

Whilst I think this foundation is a good foundation, thats really it. Its a good foundation, not a great one. It is not a full coverage foundation but more like a soft every day foundation that will give you light coverage.

When I had rather large acne attacks occasionally I found that this is not the foundation I would use to cover this.

I however liked to use it on days where I didn't want to use too much make up and would pat a little bit under my eyes to make me look more awake.

I do like how when wearing this foundation on your face, your face does not feel heavy but for the price you could find another product that does a lot more!

I recently switched to this foundation after being colour matched overseas (and buying it cheaper there), but I don’t think I’ll ever go back to my “whatever’s on sale” foundation. This stuff is easy to use with a pump on it. I love the liquid consistency as it’s not think and heavy feeling, and a little goes a long way. I have weird white patches on my face, and this matches me all up perfectly.

I purchased this in the lightest shade 1.0. The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a black twist around pump lid. Not many of their foundations have a pump so it is one of their more easy to use designs.

It is a liquid formula which can be a bit runny. Remember to shake the foundation prior to using it. I find it best to use a foundation brush rather than a sponge when applying it which also makes it easier to blend onto your skin.

It provides a nice medium coverage and doesn’t appear cakey. I found I would get a full day wear out of it without needing touch up. Great for day and night time wear as it's buildable. I really like the beautiful matte finish of this foundation which makes it looks rather natural on.

I would suffer the occasional break out after wearing this, so I recommend good make up removal afterwards. For this reason I prefer other foundations in the Mac range so I would not repurchase.

This foundation is amazing. The concept of it matching to your undertones is so true and thats what makes it such a versatile foundation. The finish is a demi-matte which looks so flawless on the skin as it still leaves your face with dimension unlike some full matte foundations. The coverage is medium-buildable which is perfect for wearing on a daily basis. You barely need any concealer with this because the matching technology works to hide imperfections for you. It also comes with a pump! which is rare for mac foundations and the bottle is also slightly bigger than the fix fluid which is another bonus. I cannot say enough good things about this foundation other than it is the best foundation I have ever used and I dont think I will ever find one which suits my skin as well as this

This is a pretty decent foundation, coverage is medium buildable, finish is a natural semi matte, I do agree it does help control oil ( I Have oily/combo skin depending on the weather),Packaging is glass with a pump my only con is the price, you can definitly find better for the less. Also goes a little patchy after about 4 hours

I bought this because I wasn't sure which shade I'd be in MAC and I was definitely not going to pay $90 for one here, so I had a friend pick me this up from a trip overseas for around half the price. After a lot of Googling swatches and skintones, I decided to go for 1.5. And it was the best decision ever.

1.5 suits my summer skin perfectly! I love the matchmaster technology, I've heard of it before and seriously, I think this is as good as a custom blend foundation.

My skin is fairly dry through the winter, but in summer my t-zone gets a little oily. So yes, I didn't think the foundation would work as well as it does with my skin. I already prepared myself for blotchy, cakey skin.

I have a little patch of extremely dry skin that I can't get rid of on my forehead, and yes - there it is cakey. But everywhere else, my foundation looks like my skin.

The coverage is medium to full. If you have a really bad spot of acne, etc. the day you'll have to apply two layers of foundation over it, but the coverage is really, really good. I use two pumps to cover my entire face.

It offers SPF, but it doesn't reflect white when you take a photo. I also love how this foundation doesn't oxidize (but it's MAC, I don't think any of their foundations do!).

This foundation sits perfectly on my skin, it doesn't move, or become oily. It doesn't make my skin feel oily when I've removed it - and wait for it, I braced myself for an increase in acne when I first bought this, and not a single extra spot has come up on my face as a result of this foundation, really making it my new HG foundation.

It's definitely worth the investment!

love this foundation,love the bottle that has a pump ,i put a few wee spots of it over my face then blended in with my sigma f80 brush,it was great coverage,i did not use concealer as i felt the cover with the 2nd coat was full coverage,i set it with powder ,.i am so in love with it and would reccomend to others as a easy to blend full coverage product that has the staying power.

I was matched to this foundation at Smith & Caugheys and could not be happier.

I've been matched to the perfect shade, it's lightweight and gives me a flawless finish. It has a buildable coverage so i find it ideal to wear and make it look quite natural or if I'm wanting more coverage it will build to full coverage also.

It hasn't been breaking me out which is a massive bonus and is much superior to my old favourite (Revlon colourstay), although for the price I would hope so.

I must say, when the MUA recommended this foundation for my skin type at MAC I was slightly disapointed as I really wanted to try the Studio Fix (just because I had heard more about it) but I am 100% happy and glad I decided to go with her recommendation..

I used this foundation a lot when I was younger... The only reason I don't use it anymore is simply because I found a different brand and foundation that works better for the look that I like, but I guess this is always bound to happen! I used this from maybe ages 14 - 19, so for quite a while! It is nice and fluid and so doesn't make your skin feel completely covered in a thick layer of makeup. If you find the right colour, it makes your skin look really great as well! I had a lot of blemishes at a younger age, and this was a great foundation to cover this up well, while also not clogging all of my pores and not allowing my skin to breathe! I would definitely recommend it, but probably wouldn't use it myself again because I love my current foundation so much.

I've never really been able to find the perfect foundation shade until now! What I like about this foundation is the texture, It's easy to blend and they have a good range of colours. It's a little bit thicker than a fluid in my opinion but the texture is still great. This foundation is great for people with freckles as it has light/ buildable coverage so it enhances the skin tone without caking on and allows the natural skin underneath to show through. It's also great for people with oily skin as this is quite matte.
