A Lovely Blush

What a lovely blush! I bought mine on sale at Farmers in the shade Foreplay (a lovely shimmery pink) and am honestly so glad I did — new fave blush right here.

Firstly the packaging is super adorable. Very simple and easy to open, with the cutest little bow design which I swooned over. The blush itself is a gorgeous colour, and I would definitely recommend it for pale skin. Since it's baked instead of loose its easy to pick up just a tiny amount on your brush — or more if you're after a stronger effect. It is super pretty on the skin with a subtle shimmer which can be made bolder for a night time look.

I also LOVE how NYX is a super affordable brand, and they don't test on animals. Consider me sold!

pretty!

My usual blush (Too Faced Sweethearts in 'Perfect Flush') is too bulky to travel with, so I needed a smaller-packaged, but still pretty, pink blush. This range jumped off the shelf at me, and was on sale, so I picked one up to try. I have the shade 'Pink Fetish'.

The packaging for these is slightly bulky, but super cute. It consists of a clear top to a flattened cube, with a black base, and white writing on the top. The clasp is a wee black bow. Very cute, but could definitely get away with being a bit slimmer and sleeker.

I don't understand the other comments about this being difficult to pick up on the brush etc - I find it picks up easily and can be added subtly, or built to a deeper pink. Perhaps it's this shade, but I find it really easy to use. The colour is a beautiful rose pink with a light catching shimmer - a built in subtle highlight. The colour lasts acceptably, and looks natural and pretty.

I really like this as a cheaper blush option, and would happily buy other shades in the range.

The packaging hasn't protected the blush as well as i'd like though - it's come free of the pan and is getting messy.

Tips: very pretty esp as a double up blush/subtle highlighter! Try the shades in store if you get a chance - seems like they might be a bit hit and miss, and I got lucky?

First baked blush!

I had to jump on the bandwagon when I saw NYX arrive at Farmers. I have been looking at trying a baked blush and this was the first in my collection. I chose the shade Spanish Rose, which is a pretty shimmery pink. As with most baked blushes, it can be hard to get product on a brush so I just press down quite hard and distribute on my brush evenly. There is not much of a fallout due to the firm packing so my dresser isn't left covered in fairy dust like I find with some blushers!

It adds a lovely glow and highlight - the package says bronzer too but I don't see that. It isn't overly pigmented but can be built quite well.

The packaging is a bit clunky and I'm not sure the plastic lid will stand the test of time, but for the price point an overall great product! I can't wait to try more of the NYX range.

Baked Blush in Chiffon

I got this NYX blush when I went to Melbourne and picked up the shade BBL11 Chiffon which is a pinky bronze colour.

First, the packaging is quite bulky but it's cute with the bow. I like that it's clear on the top so I can see the colour too.

The blush itself is quite nice. It also says illuminator + bronzer on the packaging but I haven't used it as a bronzer. I've been using this as a blush with my Real Techniques blush brush and I love it.

It's not too pigmented so I find that I can build this up to an intensity I want. I don't find it too shimmery either and it gives me a nice rosy glow. I also didn't have issues blending it but it doesn't last too long on my skin. I can't say it lasts a whole day so re-application is needed. However, for the price, I like it. I've only ever tried this dry but I'm interested to see how pigmented it becomes with a wet sponge and I think the shade I have will look good on the eyes too.

Sugar Mama

The colour I have is gorgeous and shimmery but it just doesn't show up on the brush. Even when I rub my finger it, I just can't get any colour unless I rub really hard which makes this blush unusable.
