I purchased this brush to apply powdered highlighter to my cheek bones and while it comes at a great price, I am keeping my eye out for a more effective one. This brush definitely does the job, but I don't find it effective or efficient enough at picking up the powder, it takes a lot of runs over the surface to pick any pigment up. This brush is cheap and great starting fan brush but don't expect great things from it.

I brought this brush to see how it applied highlighter, it's very affordable and does do the job. I'm not sure how long it's going to last as it's not the best quality. It has a little bit of a hard time picking up the product I find but overall it's very affordable so I wasn't expecting much. I think it is better suited to brushing off fall out rather then applying product.
I think it does an okay job of applying my highlighter. However I think I have other brushes which do a better job. It seems to pick up the product okay but doesn't seem to transfer it to my ace so well. The best thing about it is that it is very cheap and affordable.
Tips: Perhaps use it to brush away any eyeshadow fallout as opposed to using to to apply highlight or to contour with etc.
I quite like this brush. It's the first and only fan brush I have ever owned, and for me it does the job.
The quality of the brush isn't the best but I only paid around $1 for it so I'm not even going to complain.
The bristles are red, which I though was a little odd lol, never seen a red makeup brush before, but hey, it doesn't affect the brush in any way so that's fine with me. It does have a little trouble picking up product though, so it does take me a couple of attempts to get my desired amount of highlighter applied but once I'm finished, I'm always happy with the result.
I never have any fallout issues with the bristles, which makes a nice change. A few of my powder brushes always leave bristles all over my face and sometimes I don't even notice them right away =/
Once I get better at highlighting etc, I will invest in better quality brushes, but for now, I'm quite happy to stick with this one.
On my latest iherb haul I picked up quite a few e.l.f. things, the price is sometimes just too good to look past! They had a special on beauty items so this ended up being USD $2.40 so for a new brush I thought, why not?
This brush looks like you would expect. Also feels a lot more high-end than the price would make you suspect. It has a wooden black long handle with the name printed on it. The ferrel is black also as is the hairs. I have washed this a couple of times and it has kept its shape well. The bristles are incredibly soft.
Now this is a brush of limited uses. Unfortunately because the bristles are so soft and long and flimsy it isn't the best for picking up a lot of pigment. But I do love it for picking up highlighter. I'm not a huge fan of an intense highlight on a day to day basis so this is great for picking up my MAC Soft and Gentle and just applying it lightly across my (non-existant) cheekbones.
So would I recommend... If you are after something that applies things lightly it is great. But I wouldn't pay more than I did as it isn't a multi-use brush.
If you like an intense highlight (i.e. NASA look at me!) then I don't think this is the best brush to pick up. I loved that it looks sturdy, it has a secure ferrule and a clean white handle but the brush hairs were a tad too flimsy for me.
I like an intense highlight so I guess I was trying to make the brush do what it's not designed to do. However, the hairs were too thin and sparse that I spent more time trying to pack on the product or I ended up giving up and using a kabuki of some sort.
When washing the brush for the first time, there was no shedding however during use I would find an odd hair or two on my face. This in itself didn't bother me too much, after all it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I decided to use this to sweep away fall out instead but again it wasn't dense enough to do a good job so out it went.
My word for this brush would be "Meh" nothing super bad and nothing super good. Would i buy it again? No probably not because there is better out there that's for sure. Il probably end up giving this to my younger sister as i just don't really use it anymore. I use it for highlight as i thought that was mostly what it was for but even then it doesn't do a great job at picking up the highlight. Would maybe be good for someone that wants subtle highlight though.
It's OK but not the best. Elf are known for their brush but this wasn't great. A cheap brush the bristles don't feel nice on my skin. I'm left disappointed by this product sadly.
This brush was super cheap but I still don't think it is worth getting. The bristles aren't the softest and I find it doesn't really apply product that well to the skin. It is not as dense or stiff as I think it needs to be, so I don't think it will last that long with washing regularly as it is not good quality. It applies highlighter okay, but I have other brushes I much prefer and this just sits in my brush holder untouched most of the time. I have brushes from the studio line from elf which I love so was hoping this would be just as good, but unfortunately it isn't. I wouldn't recommend this to others, there are far better options out there.
I use this brush to apply powder highlighter ontop of my cheekbones,I do not use it for anything else but that,it picks up the right amount of product and with the lightest touch enough goes onto your skin,
Tips: The lightest touch is more than enough
