Disclaimer - this is a first impressions review. I received the products on Thursday, and started using them on Friday. This review was written Sunday. I'll be coming back to update this at some stage soon! :)
Hair situation: Mine is shoulder length, and half year-old dye, half my natural silver grey.
Shampoo: clear in colour, which distinguishes it from the conditioner easily and stops the moment of picking it up in the shower to check which is which. Lathers to quite a lot of foam, and the foam is quite light and airy. On first use the dyed ends of my hair felt a little dry after this, but we'll persevere. The non dyed upper parts felt nicer, so could just be the nature of the two parts of my hair. Washed out really easily from my hair, and didn't leave a scent. I use two pumps.
The packaging is attractive - I love the shorter squatter bottle shape. The pumps are securely locked initially, and when released dispense a good amount of product easily. I like the colouring, it vibes clean, fresh and modern. I absolutely hate the pointless extra labels that pop up - removed them immediately, and was mad at them for existing. Neither the shampoo nor the conditioner have a discernable scent. My hair dried (with a drier) pretty quickly after using this range, and blow dried reasonably smooth. After using my straightener it needed serum but looked good.
After washing, drying and straightening my hair, it felt nice - clean and soft - but had definitely gone a tiny bit frizzy and dry looking, and needed a serum to calm down. This continued through the 2nd and 3rd washes, but didn't get any worse. I'll likely stick to using this every 2nd or third wash, with the more hydrating products in the middle. The non dyed part of my hair seems to like this a lot better than the dyed part, so it could well be that this isn't a hydrating enough range for the dyed parts of my hair.
The shampoo comes packaged beautifully, especially for a supermarket product! The shampoo comes in a transparent blue tinted pump bottle. I loved the pump bottle as it makes the shampoo so easy to dispense in the shower, and this is 300mL as well which is a generous amount of product to include. The shampoo itself is a clear gel, the consistency and appearance really looks a lot like hair gel. I liked that the shampoo was free of added colour to the product.A small amount goes a long way as this lathers up really really well. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't a fan of the fragrance, it smells a lot like an acne face wash for me, rather than a typical shampoo scent which I found off-putting as I love my hair to smell good after washing and the scent just really threw me off. I found this lathered up extremely well, but due to so much lather it took quite a while to wash the product out. Unfortunately, both times I used this I could feel right away in the shower that as soon as I washed the shampoo out, that my hair wasn't responding well to this. Both times, my hair felt incredibly dry and straw-like. To be fair, I have bleached/coloured hair, so my hair is more prone to being sensitive to hair products so this may be fine for those with unbleached or coloured hair. I suspect the dryness was due to this product containing sulfates, although this isn't necessarily a bad ingredinet, I think it may have cleaned my hair too much and stripped a bit too much of the natural oils away. I really wanted to like this as the idea of micellar as an ingredient was interesting and the packaging was gorgeous, but this made my hair feel so excessively dry and straw like after using this, as well as frizzy that my hair just couldn't handle using this again. I do understand that my hair is bleached so this wouldn't be the result for everyone, but this did promise to be a gentle product and I don't think that's what it achieved.
Tips: Use sparingly, a small amount lathers up very well, so no need to use a large amount of product.
