Very drying and harsh on my coloured hair

The shampoo comes packaged beautifully, especially for a supermarket product! The shampoo comes in a transparent blue tinted pump bottle. I loved the pump bottle as it makes the shampoo so easy to dispense in the shower, and this is 300mL as well which is a generous amount of product to include. The shampoo itself is a clear gel, the consistency and appearance really looks a lot like hair gel. I liked that the shampoo was free of added colour to the product.A small amount goes a long way as this lathers up really really well. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't a fan of the fragrance, it smells a lot like an acne face wash for me, rather than a typical shampoo scent which I found off-putting as I love my hair to smell good after washing and the scent just really threw me off. I found this lathered up extremely well, but due to so much lather it took quite a while to wash the product out. Unfortunately, both times I used this I could feel right away in the shower that as soon as I washed the shampoo out, that my hair wasn't responding well to this. Both times, my hair felt incredibly dry and straw-like. To be fair, I have bleached/coloured hair, so my hair is more prone to being sensitive to hair products so this may be fine for those with unbleached or coloured hair. I suspect the dryness was due to this product containing sulfates, although this isn't necessarily a bad ingredinet, I think it may have cleaned my hair too much and stripped a bit too much of the natural oils away. I really wanted to like this as the idea of micellar as an ingredient was interesting and the packaging was gorgeous, but this made my hair feel so excessively dry and straw like after using this, as well as frizzy that my hair just couldn't handle using this again. I do understand that my hair is bleached so this wouldn't be the result for everyone, but this did promise to be a gentle product and I don't think that's what it achieved.

Tips: Use sparingly, a small amount lathers up very well, so no need to use a large amount of product.

cleans well, but also dries me out

Disclaimer - this is a first impressions review. I received the products on Thursday, and started using them on Friday. This review was written Sunday. I'll be coming back to update this at some stage soon! :)

Hair situation: Mine is shoulder length, and half year-old dye, half my natural silver grey.

Shampoo: clear in colour, which distinguishes it from the conditioner easily and stops the moment of picking it up in the shower to check which is which. Lathers to quite a lot of foam, and the foam is quite light and airy. On first use the dyed ends of my hair felt a little dry after this, but we'll persevere. The non dyed upper parts felt nicer, so could just be the nature of the two parts of my hair. Washed out really easily from my hair, and didn't leave a scent. I use two pumps.

The packaging is attractive - I love the shorter squatter bottle shape. The pumps are securely locked initially, and when released dispense a good amount of product easily. I like the colouring, it vibes clean, fresh and modern. I absolutely hate the pointless extra labels that pop up - removed them immediately, and was mad at them for existing. Neither the shampoo nor the conditioner have a discernable scent. My hair dried (with a drier) pretty quickly after using this range, and blow dried reasonably smooth. After using my straightener it needed serum but looked good.

After washing, drying and straightening my hair, it felt nice - clean and soft - but had definitely gone a tiny bit frizzy and dry looking, and needed a serum to calm down. This continued through the 2nd and 3rd washes, but didn't get any worse. I'll likely stick to using this every 2nd or third wash, with the more hydrating products in the middle. The non dyed part of my hair seems to like this a lot better than the dyed part, so it could well be that this isn't a hydrating enough range for the dyed parts of my hair.

Tips: Update:

Have abandoned use of this, the dry hair got worse. Have given it away

Nice Shampoo!

I really enjoyed the shampoo as I did not need to use a lot of it, it frothed up really well and had good coverage. It wasnt too runny, just the right consistency and easy to apply. The pump bottle style is great for use but I do not like the wastage when you cannot get the last little bit out of the bottle at the end. The cost is quite a lot compared to ypur average shampoo and conditioner but it is average compared to other similar micellar products. I liked the shampoo but I think the conditioner lets the product down, ending in me not recommending them as a whole.

Tips: You really only need a little bit as it froths up quite a bit!!

Wish it was sulphate free

I love the fact that this shampoo is targeted towards those of us with oily roots and that it omits any silicones. I only wish they formulated it without sulphates (SLS) as that can cause itchy scalps and oil imbalance. However if you're used to sulphates, then this is a affordable shampoo that cleans hair very well. The scent is strong, but not unpleasant. I found the shampoo did keep the oil at bay through the day, so at least it did do what it said it would.

Not spectacular!!

I don’t normally use Pantene as they are known for the sulphates which is a drying substance but I was surprised by what I got out of it.

The shampoo has the consistency of a gel and it has a very strong floral scent, lathers well in the hair and rinses very easy as well.

After I had used the shampoo for the first time (which lathered well), my hair felt nice. I used the shampoo a few more times just in case to see if there was any change and it dulled my colour and dried my hair out but not as bad as I expected to be honest.

I wouldn’t use again as I don’t want dry hair but I’ll put aside and will try again at another time.

Smells amazing

The bottle is a lovely blue colour and has a push pump to use the shampoo, this is one of my favorite things about the product. The smell reminds me of a salon, very pleasant and not over powering. I have medium length hair and I used 2 pumps at a time, this was plenty to get a good lather. My hair felt clean and my hair smelt nice for the rest of the day. I didn't feel like my hair was any cleaner than using my regular shampoo, so probably would splash out the much more expensive price to purchase this product.

Pantene Pro V Blends Micellar Shampoo

Ive not been a fan or used this brand for years. If you google up about the brand / if it is bad for your hair you will see many horror reviews The main additive to blame is silicone which builds up in the hair as it does not fully wash out. Truth be told silicone / dimenthicone is in most hair products including so called professional ones if you read the back of the bottle I prefer to use silicone free hair care so to hear of a silicone free product up for review certainly interested me. I was not impressed with the big extra sticker on the bottles they should of just put it on the original label and in general I do not like pump dispenser bottles for bath and shower products. Reading the back of the bottle I see it is not free of sulphates - they make shampoo or bath gel very bubbly but are drying to skin and hair. I'm not suprised because with claims of silicone paraben and dye free it would have said if it was sulfate free too. Having a sniff I thought the smell is rather quite nice. I used the product several times and let family try it too. I like that a little goes a fair way with the shampoo I don't feel multiple pumps or repeat is required. Hair felt soft afterwards (i used the matching conditioner too) but was not like noticeably softer than before use. I did feel like I got a good clean though in fact I did get a bit of an itchy scalp but i half expected that as the time we had to review the product was shortened so I had to wash my hair more than usual to give a fair trial. Now I really am not familiar with "micellar" products in general so that has next to no meaning or influence on me. Doing research he role of micelles in shampoo is to deep cleanse. So its like a clarifying shampoo removing buildup and impurities but supposedly more gentle. This makes me think it could make a good body wash too. Micelles for skin/scalp can still be too harsh drying and irritate so this is something to be aware if you have sensitive skin. while the micelles are good at pulling dirt and oil from the skin it removes some of the protective acid mantle and over doing this will stimulate more oil production from imbalance. You can read up more about micelles yourself. Back to my thoughts on this shampoo. I think this is a good one if you tend to use alot of hair products to remove them or like a detox. I will use this every now and then for a thorough clean as I do tend to get oily roots at times and I like that a little goes along way with this but due to me getting itchy I can say It is not gentle enough for me to use very frequently or gentle enough for daily use like in the companys description. I really like that this is silicone and paraben free and especially that the matching conditioner is without silicone. Micelles in hair care is quite new so Pantene is keeping up with trends and updated their products by making a micelle series.

Great Shampoo

I enjoyed using the Pantene Micellar Shampoo. The pump was simple to use and gave a good quantity of product. I only needed one pump and this was plenty to be able to lather my medium- long length hair. It left my hair shiny and silky which lasted 3+days. Sometimes my hair is very frizzy the day of washing and it wasn't as frizzy with using the product. I wasn't a fan of the smell of the product, it had quite an overpowering smell. But I only noticed this while washing and my hair smelt fine once dry. I would use again and definitely recommend.

Tips: Try just one pump the first time as product goes a long way.

Super Gentle & Thorough Clean

Accepted as part of the trial team, thanks BR! I hadn't used Pantene products in about a decade so was excited to try this. I like the simple but stylish blue circular bottle packaging with pump top. It reminds me of the ocean. It is slightly scented. Consistency is gel like. I only need about one and a half pumps for my thick, long, curly/wavy hair as this suds up a fair bit. It's a really light formula that doesn't weigh my hair down or make my hair squeaky clean.

Due to the trial period being a bit short, I only got to use this 3 times. However, in saying that I found this to be really cleansing. I have super oily roots and my hair feels gently but thoroughly clean. I tend to wash my hair every second day or so but have no doubt that this could be used daily. Particularly in the summer I imagine this would be a most suitable product.

I haven't used a Micellar shampoo before but have enjoyed using this. Overall i'm really impressed. Initial results are great but I will be continuing to use over the coming month and will update review when I have used for a longer period of time.

UPDATE: have been using for over a month and still enjoy using this product. Results are the same. Still amazes me I don't need to use as much product compared to other brands of shampoo. Really would get your money's worth.

Tips: Be careful how much product you pump out as it gets sudsy when mixed with a bit of water.

Pantene pro v blends micellar shampoo

I loved the bottle of this shampoo, it was small enough that it was a great size in your hands. I love the smell of the product and my hair feels great once I use it. I'd definitely recommend this.
