Pantene Pro V Blends Micellar Regime Review

Disclaimer - this is a first impressions review. I received the products on Thursday, and started using them on Friday. This review was written Sunday. I'll be coming back to update this at some stage soon! :)

Hair situation: Mine is shoulder length, and half year-old dye, half my natural silver grey.

Both: the packaging is attractive - I love the shorter squatter bottle shape. The pumps are securely locked initially, and when released dispense a good amount of product easily. I like the colouring, it vibes clean, fresh and modern. I absolutely hate the pointless extra labels that pop up - removed them immediately, and was mad at them for existing. Neither the shampoo nor the conditioner have a discernable scent. My hair dried (with a drier) pretty quickly after using this range, and blow dried reasonably smooth. After using my straightener it needed serum but looked good.

Shampoo: clear in colour, which distinguishes it from the conditioner easily and stops the moment of picking it up in the shower to check which is which. Lathers to quite a lot of foam, and the foam is quite light and airy. On first use the dyed ends of my hair felt a little dry after this, but we'll persevere. The non dyed upper parts felt nicer, so could just be the nature of the two parts of my hair. Washed out really easily from my hair, and didn't leave a scent. I use two pumps.

Conditioner: thick and white, but needed 2-3x more conditioner than I did shampoo per use. This is pretty usual for supermarket brands, in my experience. I usually double condition my hair, but on the first use of this range I chose to use just this conditioner and see what happened. It coats hair well when you have enough of it, and has a slightly slippery texture to it that helps it move through hair well but made me wonder if it was sitting on my hair or actually soaking in. It's a little harder to wash out than the shampoo, again due to the texture of the product, i think, but only a little and still rinsed out cleanly. My hair didn't feel QUITE as hydrated as with my usual products, but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.

After washing, drying and straightening my hair, it felt nice - clean and soft - but had definitely gone a tiny bit frizzy and dry looking, and needed a serum to calm down. This continued through the 2nd and 3rd washes, but didn't get any worse. I'll likely stick to using this every 2nd or third wash, with the more hydrating products in the middle. The non dyed part of my hair seems to like this a lot better than the dyed part, so it could well be that this isn't a hydrating enough range for the dyed parts of my hair. I'm a major micellar skincare fan and was keen to see what it did for hair, but...... meh.

I'm a bit of a salon snob, so I'm really surprised by how much I love this product!

The packaging is really nice and functional - I love a pump bottle for hair care! You can tell the shampoo and conditioner apart, which is good seeing as I don't wear my glasses in the shower!

The scent is ummy, nummy, yummy! You can smell it on your hair through the day, which I love.

The shampoo isn't too thick and I didn't need much for my hair length (bob), maybe one pump? I tried double cleansing with this, but I honestly don't think you need to unless you have a lot of product maybe. My hair was mostly free from knots before I got the conditioner!

The conditioner is really luxe, it has that salon feel, where your hair just feels instantly better.

Both products work well together, and left my hair shiny and manageable. The only reason I didn't give it full marks is I'll continue using it, but I will rotate it with salon hair care. You can't get rid of the snob that easily!

I've only used these products a few times but I'm liking them so far. The pump bottles are great and don't take up much room in my shower. My hair is clean and soft with a great fragrance.

Pantene have levelled up with their Pro V Blends Micellar regime. The packaging is luxurious - I love the design, and even the pump looks stylish (and works wonderfully to dispense the right amount of product).

The scent on both products is my FAVOURITE! I am now a hair sniffer and can be seen with a lock of hair permanently under my nose. The shampoo is a clear colour, lathers up wonderfull and does a fantastic job of cleansing my oily hair - so much so I can now go two days without washing, rather than washing daily. Bonus points for not irritating my sensitive scalp! The conditioner is creamy, goes through well enough and leaves my hair soft and shiny - however not tangle-free (unlike the Pantene Classic conditioner).

I would absolutely repurchase the shampoo again as it's now my favourite shampoo, however I'm on the fence about the conditioner as I LOVE the scent but it's not as good as my regular Pantene conditioner. As a duo though I really enjoyed this range and would recommend.

I don’t normally use Pantene as they are known for the sulphates which is a drying substance but I was surprised by what I got out of it.

The shampoo has the consistency of a gel and it has a very strong floral scent, lathers well in the hair and rinses very easy as well.

After I had used the shampoo for the first time (which lathered well), my hair felt nice. I used the shampoo a few more times just in case to see if there was any change and it dulled my colour and dried my hair out but not as bad as I expected to be honest.

I wouldn’t use again as I don’t want dry hair but I’ll put aside and will try again at another time.

I really enjoyed this trial, this is a great system at a great price!

I like the look of the bottles, nice and simple. They both come with great pump tops. The scent of both is beautiful, clean and crisp, the shampoo scent being stronger than the conditioner but both are divine.

The formula of both is great, a beautiful lather on the shampoo and nice creamy conditioner.

I usually wash my hair three times a week, if I can get two days of comfortably wearing my hair down I’m happy and this system delivered that. I found the products made my hair feel clean and smooth, but gentle and non stripping.

I will absolutely continue using these and I look forward to seeing longer term results!

I was excited to try this shampoo and conditioner combo because I wash my hair a lot as I work out every day (sometimes twice a day). My hair is fine and therefore often flyaway with too much washing and conditioners that leave behind an overly "silky" feel.

The packaging is very elegant and the product looks luxurious and expensive.

The pump action dispenser gives you a set amount which doesn't look like a lot but actually lathers up to be quite good coverage. Probably a little more than I need. It smells delicious and leaves your hair feeling smooth and very clean. It doesn't feel like it 'leaves behind' product like some shampoos. My hair feels great using this range and the flyaways are definitely grounded!

The product packaging is cute. Pale blue circular, pump top bottles. Easy to control the amount of product dispersed. Has a light scent, I don't know what it is but it's nice. Not overpowering.

The shampoo is great for oily roots! It really does clarify the scalp gently and leaves it clean. I also noticed the usual day to day build up between wash days was a lot less than usual. I do feel like the shampoo helped with this. The conditioner is quite moisturising and leaves my hair super soft.

Both products together are a good option. I really do enjoy and prefer at this point the shampoo as I feel there is a bigger improvement compared to the before condition. The conditioner is still a good option but I feel that my frizzy curly/wavy hair needs more moisture than what this provides.

I do think further use over the coming month could show better results. Which I will update. At this point I think this regime could best suit fine hair with oily roots.

UPDATE: Have used for over a month and hair feels softer with each wash. Have noticed a bit of improvement with manageability. However it doesn't help at all with my flyaways. Definitely can get away with a few days between washing.

This series smells amazing! It reminds me of cucumbers and watermelon. I double shampooed which I felt really cleaned my hair well. The shampoo lathered up nicely and it didn’t feel drying on my hair.

The conditioner made my hair feel really hydrated and soft. I didn’t put the conditioner on my roots as I’ve had bad experiences in the past with other conditioners.

My hair smelled amazing for hours afterwards and people have been commenting on how shiny my hair looks!

I definitely love how they are in pump bottles. The shampoo bottle also has grooves on the side to help with grip in case you have slippery hands.

I like the look of the packaging, does not look crass. Also they come in a pump that is easy to dispense. The smell of the shampoo is quite pleasant, not too chemically or heady. Both shampoo and conditioner felt quite light in consistency compared to other products and worked just fine. I fact, they are so light they can be used daily. I have an oily scalp and dry ends. After washing my hair felt light, soft and smooth. The best thing I liked about this shampoo is there was hardly any breakage. I have hair below shoulder length and with other shampoos there tends to be some broken hair but none with this one. Definitely gets a tick from me.
